@Purtyburty so sorry to hear the embryo didn’t make it, are they able to change anything for your protocol next time to see if you can get better results? Hope you get to discuss with your doctor soon xx

Hi ladies, first post ever on here, so a little unsure what I'm doing... I'm 35 and have an 8 year old daughter, natural conception nil complicated birth (previous partner)
Currently undergoing treatment icsi (male factor infertility) I also upon testing I was found to have a low AMH so we are on flare protocol.
We had egg collection on Tuesday, 4collected, 3 mature, 3 fertilised and had our transfer today. We had a top grade embryo and 2 lower grade....1 of the lower grade was not looking good and therefore disregarded and unsuitable for freezing but 1 was c/d grade. We made the decision to transfer both our top grade AB embryo and our c/d grade. And I'm now onto the TWW.

@GCS34 sorry to hear about your pcos and other issues. Fingers crossed for this transfer for you. Can you remind me where you are in this process? I’ve got 3 embryos still frozen, how about yourself?

I am not quite that young @GCS34 but am only 34 so discovering I have very low/undetectable AMH which is more typical of a woman a decade older was a shock. Mostly it is genetic but I don’t have the sort of relationship with my mum where I can ask about menopause etc. However I strongly believe it is due to my CPTSD. Stress is known to decrease egg numbers and from the age of 6-33 I lived in a state of constant stress. Now that I have had EMDR and no longer have CPTSD I hope that my levels will at least stabilise.

@Doughnut89 thanks darling. Yeah been a bit of a roller coaster. After the pcos diagnosis, the cancer scare and my op to remove half my cervix, we had 6 weeks recovery, and restarted again And then I had my smear and they found a polyp 😅 honestly I swear someone was just fucking with me in the end 😂
but yea makes us more resilient right? I have 5 Frosties, with my first FET planning meeting this week coming. Then hopefully meds up and transfer end of sept. When’s yours scheduled for?

Trying to be hopeful but not so hopeful that I convince myself I'm pregnant, defo did that on my first 2 IUIs and period arriving was a crash back to earth but do feel really good to deal with whatever the outcome is 🤞🏻

@ttcsolomumtobe Good luck tomorrow morning, so impressed you've held out so long. I think I was up at about 3.30/4 am last time to do my first few tests, hopefully you can stay asleep a little bit later!

@GCS34 god yea you’ve been through a lot. Well I’m wishing you so many positive vibes for your transfer 🤞 I had my transfer on the 10th and had a positive test last week and bloods on Friday which confirmed my hcg levels at 150. Doing another blood test tomorrow to check they’re increasing as I’ve been spotting so much.

@ttcsolomumtobe i completely get what you mean about reading into symptoms and convincing yourself. I definitely did that too 🙈 I banned myself from googling after the first couple as it’s just a mind f**k

@Doughnut89 I like to think it makes me stronger, and if not, just makes a good story in the future 😂 guilt trip those kids with ‘what I had to endure for you…’ 😏😉thanks lovely. I have made up the timeline in my head - it may be way longer but I think hopefully end of sept. Find out Friday in our call. 🤷‍♀️

@Hopingforno2in2023 oh I knew I liked you - ’only 34’. Excellent news as I am “only 34” too 😅jokes aside, that is really shit to find out. forgive me asking but what is CPTSD? Really sorry you’ve had such a rough time. I hope that’s the end of the stress for now (although telling someone going through fertility treatment to ‘relax’ is like punching a child 😂🙈)

@kirstysmbc I'm often awake at 3.30/4 going to bathroom as drinking so much water but guna just try to go back to sleep and forget about it 😆 may not happen.

@Doughnut89 it's bad isn't it... On my second IUI I made it to like 13 days after ovulation before my period arrived and that's long for me but it was light so I pretty much talked myself into thinking it was implantation and I did a FRER everyday for about 4 days until it hit me that it was a period and I wasn't pregnant.

@GCS34 not quite in bed yet.... But likely will be in the next hour 😂 think I'm actually guna be too scared to do a test, if I had another few weeks of pessaries I would just keep using them, not test for a while and go for a scan... Keep the hope a bit longer 😆
Bad isn't it, even a positive result can lead to further worry, but yea, will just do it when I feel up to it tomorrow.

I'm so sorry your CPTSD has affected you in this way. You should be so proud of the fact you have overcome it! Mentioned your EMDR to my husband and he was reassured as he hadn't heard it being used for PTSD, he is due to start 05 sept thank you so much.

@ttcsolomumtobe i really wish I didn’t have to test as would also much rather just wait until scan day … but I had to get progesterone unfortunately so no option the same as you 🙈 arghh it’s the worst i hope you manage to sleep tonight and look forward to the update 🤞🤞🤞

@Feeburni welcome! Congratulations on your transfer, it's great that you had the option of transferring 2 as alot of clinics won't if a person is under 40 but guess with the c/d the clinic wouldn't have frozen it so worth a try. May I ask how you would feel if you ended up with twins?

honestly don’t worry at all, I forgot what stage you were at too. There’s so many people and so many different conversation threads on here it can be difficult to keep track 🙈🙈🙈
i think the hcg level is supposed to double every 2-3 days so based on the fact it was 150 on Friday, I guess it should be between 300-450 tomorrow. They’ve not told me a specific figure though so as long as they’re happy with what it is, I think that will reassure me.
I saw on a separate conversation that you’re 34, as is @Hopingforno2in2023 and @Lowo21 I’m 33 so similar age. I guess I’m surprised by the number of younger women in this group but (and I hope no one takes offence at this) I find it reassuring that there are other women struggling with fertility at my age. I don’t mean that in a horrible way at all. Obviously I’d not wish fertility struggles on anyone and I hope everyone in this group manages to get their babies but I felt like such a failure as a woman when I found out about my issues. It’s difficult to think of the right words to express this but I guess I’m very grateful to have this group and all you ladies who are going through the same experiences and understand the pain xx

I agree on the age and feeling less alone. I think the old fashioned stigma around ivf being for ‘old’ or ‘passed it’ women, still lingers without us meaning to think like that. It is reassuring as you say, as you don’t feel like a freak or that you e left it too late (as some may say!) I also felt a fraud because I had lean pcos, so thought mine wasn’t ‘proper’ trad pcos, therefore was all utter BS and I was making it up. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. What time is your appointment. X

hi all - I was in the previous thread but went AWOL while I did testosterone and norethisterone. Currently on day 3 of stims. I have a very low AMH and follicle count (with a non - accessible right ovary on my scan, which I knew from previous USS) so right now we’re just hoping we manage to get an egg or two 🤣 fertilisation/transfer we’ll think about if we get over the egg hurdle!

@Doughnut89 totally agree with you on the age point, it has definitely made me feel less alone and less of a failure I swear everyone around me is just popping out babies!! However if you actually get chatting to people so many have had issues of some sort !
