@GCS34 im also enjoying the fact you managed to tag yourself 🤣 good idea with the 3 things! I used to try do this daily but ended up always forgetting 🙈

im grateful I’ve got to this stage so far and I only have one day to wait until I see what is going on in there! Plus is a lovely day in Scotland here the sun is shining 🌞

this morning I have been a bit crampy though so worried I might bleed 😢 getting a bit scared to check my pants ….

@Ellenn yeah not my finest hour. 😂great three things!! How are you feeling for tomorrow and what time is your appointment?

@Mez456 not mad at all to do it at 43. I think the shift right in people starting a family is making what was ‘past it’ at 32 or something, now 45+. Science and lifestyles mean we’re just doing things later. Have you got a timeline ahead of your with your treatment of what’s happening when?

@kirstysmbc nice! I’m going to assume you enjoyed the ‘magnum’ not ‘margins’ unless you have a fondness for eating lined margined paper!

@Lowo21 love your 3 you absolute sweetie 🥰 and very similar to mine! Oh TFP rang me earlier, we’re in on Tuesday for baseline scan and FET planning appointment and will be starting the drugs next week WOOHOO! Not too far behind you now 😘

my 3 things…

  1. same as you - we were fortunate to be able to self fund 3 rounds of ovulation induction injections and private investigation scans which has led us to having a really bespoke protocol based on all the evidence from the rounds we had, and what they know works.
  2. having 2 really close friends also going through ivf / icsi that I can talk to and who truly ‘get it’. Not fortunate for them having to have treatment btw!!
  3. having a super supportive husband who together, we are each others cheerleaders for everything.

Hi all, newbie here! I hope I am posting this in the right place.. please let me know otherwise and I will correct it. 😃

So I was scheduled for a transfer today but my scan before it wasn't what we expected as it showed my lining not thick enough. However, my embryo is now on ice and they've advised me a follow up appointment will be in the post. So I'm having this 1 shot of funded IVF at The Hewit Fertility Centre in Liverpool. Does anyone know (if you have been in a simular situation) when I should expect for the process to start again or how long until they contact me? I am 42 BTW. Thanks for reading!

Warrier87 · 30/08/2023 16:21

So had egg retrieval today... managed to get 4 eggs from the 4 follicles... but today was informed that partners sorry count was low... so plan has now switched from IVF to ICSI. Just feel a bit thrown by the change of plan, even though I understand why it's done...

Let's see how tomorrow goes... if it all worked... feels today has been super emotional. Until today, was doing pretty good... Just thrown by the curve ball...

How's everyone else's day going?

KG1244 · 30/08/2023 16:38

@TTCMama17 thank you so much lovely ❤️Have you got anything planned during the 2WW?

@Warrier87 hey, sorry to hear you’ve had a bad day. I mean I think it’s good that they are doing ICSI - I wish we had done this. You’ve got four chances which is great so fingers crossed for you lovely xx

@GCS34 😂😂 yes, magnums! Autocorrect fun...

@Warrier87 4 eggs from 4 follicles is a fab outcome from egg collection. And hopefully ICSI will mean great fertilisation results too.

@Summerishere83 congrats on the transfer, and fingers crossed for a positive result for you soon 🤞🤞

@Lilibach Sorry you've had this added frustration with your transfer. I'm self funded so can't offer any advice on timescales - the one advantage of paying privately seems to be that things move quickly. I hope you don't have too long a wait.

Thank you, I hope not either! I was so close, yet so far. Think I need to start researching how to work on increasing thickness/blood flow to my uterus. It's a tiring ol' game isn't it? At least I can have a bit of a mental/physical break for a couple of months!

Summerishere83 · 30/08/2023 17:27

Hi @TTCMama17 thanks a lot, congratulations on being PUPO to you too 😊🤞❤️
Sure, would love to share photos which would mean there's something to be seen perhaps 🤓 realistically, I don't expect to see anything before 4-5dpt.
Good luck and please share if you get any symptoms 😅
Btw what grade was your embryo transferred?

Summerishere83 · 30/08/2023 17:30

Thank you very much @kirstysmbc :)))

Warrier87 · 30/08/2023 17:35

@kirstysmbc and @Lilibach

Thanks lovelies! Just keep telling myself that... so fingers crossed for tomorrow. Just spiralling in my own mind...

Thanks for the love! 💕

Lowo21 · 30/08/2023 19:20

@GCS34 whooo that's awesome yea you should only be a week or so behind me !!! Thank you for your positivity today, I am also a team leader and passed it on today in our team meeting. All in all everyone said it was a really good day !

MrsMotts · 30/08/2023 19:45

Hi lovelies

EC today and we managed 3 eggs from 3 which all look good so waiting to hear tomorrow if any have fertilised. This was the best possible outcome for us (I have a super low AFC & AMH) so we’re feeling positive 🤞🏼

hope you’re all ok ❤️

KG1244 · 30/08/2023 21:04

@MrsMotts yay! That’s great news. ❤️

Funniest thing, so DH has been doing all of my injections cause of I’m very needle phobic and keeps calling the lubion - louboutin. 😂 always makes me chuckle!

@Lilibach hey. I’m sorry your tf got cancelled due to lining. Do you mind me asking what you managed to get up to? Ans was that a medicated FET or fresh transfer in a fresh cycle?

endometrial scratch is meant to be good! My clinic mentioned it to me as I too have a badly behaved uterus that just doesn’t like to play fairly! I got to 6.7mm during the stim cycle of my current one but we did a freeze all in the end so I’m now doing Medicated starting next week.

Mez456 · 30/08/2023 21:34

@TT82 wow we are almost in the same position! Nice to not feel alone. My friends and family think I'm insane as we already have 2 kids but I never felt done! Where are you in your cycle?

Guys I have a question about progesterone. Are you all on lubion injections? My Dr refuses to prescribe them even though I'm oestrogen dominant. I feel so worried it wont be enough. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ellenn · 30/08/2023 21:37

@Mez456 hey! I think most clinics use the progesterone pessaries as standard (although I’m sure there will be exceptions.) I am on lubion as my consultant said it was better to use due to previous transfer miscarriages

could you ask to check your level of progesterone on a blood test possibly to give you some reassurance?

kirstysmbc · 30/08/2023 21:43

@MrsMotts Congrats, that's great news. Fingers crossed for good news over the next few days.

kirstysmbc · 30/08/2023 21:45

@Mez456 My clinic added in lubion when my progesterone levels were low on transfer day for my first fet. Now I will be on it as standard for any transfers.

Have you ever had your progesterone levels checked around transfer?

@Mez456 I wish we are in pregnant 40+ group soon 😌
We didn't tell anybody 👀 they don't suspect at all, thinking we are done...nooope
So, I have sent 2 weeks ago 4 blastocysts for PGTA testing which takes 4-6 weeks. Hospital put me on the schedule for next EC in November only 😒 so much of promised back-to-back..I will have the results by then. What I read so far, I need to send more to have 1 normal
Meanwhile we will be trying naturally which is more fun, but again high risk of cp. I am cd6, next week hopefully will be ovulation (maybe not after EC)

Mez456 · 30/08/2023 21:56

@kirstysmbc @Ellenn thanks for this. I'll ask them to test my levels. Think they use more in the US!

Mez456 · 30/08/2023 21:58

@TT82 good luck with your embies! I only had 3 blasts but did intend on testing. So annoying you have wait til November 😔

MrsMotts · 30/08/2023 23:40

@kirstysmbc will be thinking of you over the weekend too ❤️

Progesterone pessaries started tonight (though I’ve gone for rectal route as I hear it’s less messy and I’m back in work tomorrow 😂)

Justkeepmoving1234 · 30/08/2023 23:46

Hi ladies, I'm still lurking around in the background after my BFN 10 days ago.

I'm all booked in for my next transfer in November/December depending on my cycle.

Just thought I'd share some info for my PCOS ladies, or anyone struggling with hormonal issues.

There's an excellent nutritionist called Kym Campbell, who does loads of things online for free to help women with PCOS weight gain/ fertility. I also follow Dr Mindy Peltz, who does fasting and nutrition for infertility, that works around your cycle.

I found it so helpful to regulate my periods and manage mood swings...just thought I'd share 🙂

Good luck to everyone on your journeys

GCS34 · 31/08/2023 05:59

@Ellenn good luck. Xx

kirstysmbc · 31/08/2023 06:29

@Ellenn Thinking of you today, fingers crossed the scan goes well
