@GCS34 love this! We will keep going till everyone has a BFP!!!

@TTCMama17 definitely a good idea to prep the house so you can relax. I completely get being nervous, it’s the whole build up to this point. I would also suggest getting any food in that you think you might fancy. Also I’m a hormonal nightmare right now so welcome to the club 😊

@KG1244 @kirstysmbc ah haha thanks. You wait, I’ll be here still waiting for my BFP and you’ll all be back joining me for your seconds 😂

how are you feeling @kirstysmbc? have they said it’s defo a fresh then? And what sizes did you have in the latest scan?

@KG1244 how you feeling? Are you still symptom spotting or you traded that in? 😅 is otd next Monday did you say?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 27/08/2023 17:53

I’m well thanks @GCS34. Technically on CD1 but am not doing anything this cycle so it feels very uneventful. Will start the testosterone on my next cycle.

kirstysmbc · 27/08/2023 18:04

@GCS34 My last scan wasn't much better than the first. One follicle run away far too big (nearly 30mm), a couple around 14mm, a couple around 7/8mm and a handful below 6mm. The biggest one is def a write off, and don't think the smaller ones will catch up, so still poss only looking at a couple. If that's the case, and either of them make it, then it will be fresh. If there isn't anything, then I'll transfer my last frozen grade c. Next scan tomorrow lunchtime.

Have you had your timescales confirmed for your fet yet?

@Hopingforno2in2023 oh god have I got mixed up? I thought you were in a different place to where you are. So what’s your timeline looking like?
@kirstysmbc oh I meant another scan since that one - sorry I keep thinking it’s Monday so I thought today was your next scan. Which it is, only it’s Sunday today 😂🙈 that’s great you’ll transfer regardless. Is that C pgt?

yeah so I had an apt on Friday and on a short cycle.

not having the cetrotide to stop ovulation.
Drugs and Dose wise, I’m on 4mg tablets for first few days, then 6mg for a few days, then 12mg for the rest, so max dose apparently. If I am not responding on the day 10 scan they will also add in patches as well.

baseline scan on Tues 5th then starting after the drugs are here. Hoping to start drugs around the 13 Sept.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 27/08/2023 19:03

Ooh exciting @GCS34, all systems are go for you!

So when my cycle was cancelled I was told I had to wait for a withdrawal bleed which is what I have now. Then I have to wait for a natural period (which should be around the 22 Sept). At that point I start testosterone for one cycle so I won’t be starting stims until around the 20th Oct. Feels a long way away right now.

GCS34 · 27/08/2023 16:32

@TTCMama17 ah sorry. Getting days mixed up. Awww what’s making you nervous? this is your first isnt it? I’ve no idea what to expect other than similar to a smear. Remind me what grade / day it is? Have they given you a success % or anything? We got one but not sure it helps or not!

well at least you’ll have a nice clean home to bring the embryo home to! Change your bedding - that’s always a lovely treat. Is sleepiness a side effect?

@GCS34 - This is my second after a failed transfer back in May. I'm having two embryos put back in both graded C so not sure how good they are. However the embryologist has assured me that it's all subjective and the grading system is nothing but a beauty contest as it's what's inside that matter. I've done loads of reading and have read about people having perfect embryos with no hint of a BFP and some c grades and ungraded going onto to being a pregnancy. So I'm guessing it's a bit of a lottery! The one thing she said to me that stuck was none of us really know what kind of graded embryo we came from and that it's not in their interest to freeze embryos that won't work as they need their stats up for the business. That reassured me. I think the things that are stressing me out still are the grades and even whether they will thaw okay. It's a very small chance they won't thaw but still a chance I guess. I think the success rate was 40-something% with two c graded embryos compared to one A graded embryo being 50-something% so not a massive difference but a noticeable one.

I have deep cleaning all day just to come back to a nice clean home. It's not something I want to think about after transfer so I'm hoping to relax for a few days. I work from home so certain luxuries come with that. I can work from bed! Even though they said no rest is needed, I just want my body to be looked after. I even had a nice bath today and did a hair mask. Will have another bath tomorrow as been told after transfer to avoid baths for a while.

Sleepiness is definitely a side effect of Cylogest because it is knocking me out! I managed to have a 30 minute nap this afternoon 😃

TTCMama17 · 27/08/2023 19:27

Wow that was a really long post so I'm sorry <3

Mez456 · 27/08/2023 20:04

@GCS34 ah thanks, would love to join! Ive just turned 40 and very lucky to have 2 kids naturally. Have 3 frozen embies and hoping for first fet very soon. I have not pgt my embies so bit nervous. Fingers crossed for you all x

@TTCMama17 oh shit yeah god I’m so sorry 🙈I remembered as soon as I started reading it 😂sorry. Yep I think that’s a great analogy. Someone told me (maybe one of you guys) it’s like looking at someone on the tube and working out how intelligent they are.

I think at the end of the day, In my opinion, it’s a lot of genes, a lot of dna, a lot of science and a fuck load of luck! And that’s what it comes down to really. That’s what my clinic said too - they wouldn’t transfer anything that couldn’t be a viable pregnancy. So we have to trust them on that one and that is so true about us not knowing. I defo think I’m a D 😂😂theirs a really good article on low grade embryos and being just as successful, and how pgt doesn’t really do or achieve much. So Im sticking with that 🥰

absolutely. Clean house to show off to embaby 😅 is your other half coming to transfer with you? Yeah be kind to yourself. Lots of walking and warm meals x

@Mez456 ah 3rd times a charm 🥰 personally I don’t really think pgt is the be all. After seeing on hfea that it’s a ‘red’ on the traffic light scale of add-ons I just think a lot of it is luck. And as @TTCMama17 said, it’s largely just a beauty contest. So try not to worry (easy to say!) I’m having my first FET soon too. Have you got a timescale for yours? Do you mind me asking how come you’re having to have ivf now, or is it a shit case of secondary infertility?

kirstysmbc · 27/08/2023 21:49

@GCS34 Nope, didn't test in my last cycle as it was going to cost a fortune. Would actually have saved me money, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Not long for you then, the next couple of weeks will fly by!!

KG1244 · 27/08/2023 22:01

@GCS34 yep. One week tomorrow 😬 I’m trying my best not to symptom spot as last time I felt like I had loads of symptoms but got a BFN. Yay for you! All moving along 😊

@KG1244 yeah definitely. And most of it will be the drugs. Have you listened to that BFN podcast? They were on about symptoms during the TWW and both of them said that they had no symptoms when it was positive and loads of symptoms when it was negative. So let’s hope you’re in that camp. X

Totally agree ! Here till the end... no matter how many versions of the thread we have hahah!

Hope you are all doing well this bank holiday and enjoying some well earned chill out time !

Anyone transferring or EC next week ?

KG1244 · 28/08/2023 09:03

@GCS34 thank you, I really really hope so ❤️ I tried listening to it a while ago and found it quite triggering, not sure I remember why though. Maybe I will try again.

Hows everyone feeling today?

I just had my call with the clinic to go through all the details tomorrow - it’s really starting to set in now and nerves are through the roof!

Hows the 2ww going for people?

@KG1244 oh gosh don’t try again. Not yet. Not until next week when you have your BFP 😅🤞talking of BFP @Ellenn how are you doing?
I feel like someone else is BFP and I can’t remember. Is it you @Pinklady81?

@TTCMama17 im thinking of you and your uterus (?!) as slightly creepy as that is. Hope it goes okay

Pinklady81 · 28/08/2023 15:31

@GCS34 nope mine was a negative ten days ago!

TTCMama17 · 28/08/2023 15:42

@GCS34 - Thank you! I did think more people were in the 2WW. Maybe I was wrong.

Sorry for posting so many messages on here! Nobody apart from me and my partner know we're doing IVF so there's not really anyone I can share my nerves with outside this forum!

Ellenn · 28/08/2023 15:55

@GCS34 im doing ok thanks 😊 got my scan on Thursday when I will be 7 wks so I really hope the embryo is in there … feels really weird as I want to believe it’s there but my brain is like nope it won’t be viable 🙈 I think it’s just wanting to protect me from bad news!

@TTCMama17 thats what these chats are for! It’s so nice to be able to talk to others who are going through fertility treatment. We are the exact same as no one knows about our infertility issues/treatment we are having! So share away 😁

ahh! It's so exciting to even get to 7 weeks! I'm the same as you - my heart is always like it's worked and brain is like nope! I really hope it all goes well for you and we receive a good news message on Thursday! Have you got any symptoms?

kirstysmbc · 28/08/2023 17:24

Had my third scan today and there are now two big follicles over 25 mm and a smaller group between 8 to 14mm. They are going to let the big ones go, keep me on the meds and scan again on Wednesday. With potentially another scan on Friday, and collection will either be Friday or next Monday. The smaller group has six follicles in it, so there’s a chance of a couple more eggs if they all keep growing 🤞🤞

@kirstysmbc - that makes total sense. I had 2 smaller ones that suddenly popped up in the race, and my 2 follicles became 4.... soooo def think you'll be having some dominant ones too!

Just had my scan, so 4 dominant follicles, and trigger shot tonight! Feels like this is going so quick!
