@TTCMama17 I’m on Cyclogest and use them rectally. It’s much easier. I am having bleeding at the moment and my clinic is useless but when I had a progesterone blood test (which I had to pay extra money for) my progesterone levels came back high so I think it must still work that way. I hope that helps

@GCS34 - my last round was NHS and I have to say looking back. The clinic and Oxford have been so much better this round (when I've personally funded) than last time. I get more regular checks, they get back to me quicker. It sucks but I suppose for them it's all about the money. I have to be at Oxford for 12:00 and it's about an hour away so I'll have to plan my water intake well 😂

@Doughnut89 - I'm so sorry your clinic has made you feel like this. It's so crap because it's such a shitty process we have to go through and the people that come along on the journey can either make it or break it. If moving your embryos is an option I would whole heartedly recommend TFP. They've been nothing short of amazing. Thank you for the well wishes, I'm eating my pineapple and will be having my McDonalds fries afterwards hoping that both embabies stick!!!

@KG1244 - congrats on being PUPO! How are you feeling? I'll be thinking of you in this 2ww and hope that it all goes well on OTD!

Edited

@TTCMama17 Ah I didn't realise that your NHS funded cycle was done in the hospital itself. My NHS hospital here does everything but IVF in house, so outsources their IVF patients to a select number of clinics. TFP being one of them who we were already at but paying privately. So our treatment hasn't been any different so I am quite lucky. I'm glad you're finding TFP Oxford good.
12pm isn't toooooooooo bad. Least it's not like 8am, although I think I would prefer that if it is full bladder!

@KG1244 glad you're not feeling too bad, bar cramping. This is the 2nd transfer isn't it? I get so lost with numbers of transfers & numbers of rounds! It's great it survived the thaw though. I really worry about that, but I don't know how common it is.

@kirstysmbc sorry you've not had a great scan this morning. Did the nurse elude to anything in your appointment, or just the stats? Those 14mm ones, with another few more shots, they should be at the right size you'd think? Fingers crossed they're discounting the rogue 30 and focusing on the others.

Steph186 · 25/08/2023 14:12

@GCS34 good luck for your call today! Hopefully you get some timelines in place and it’s not too long!🤞

I’ve got my blood test booked for mon and meds being delivered Tue. Blood test is to confirm where I am in my cycle because my periods are so irregular and for all the other steps I’ve been able to start norethisterone the following day to induce a bleed.
Of course, my period which is so irregular as to be almost non existent has turned up this morning 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ does anyone know if this will delay things? (Given I won’t be able to start estrogen until Tues). Really hoping this won’t delay me by weeks, and waiting to hear back from the clinic

kirstysmbc · 25/08/2023 14:15

@Steph186 Can you call your clinic and tell them you've started your cycle today and ask them to send urgent prescription? If the blood test is to determine where you are in the cycle, surely you don't need that if your period has started? For my medicated transfers I've had to start estrogen (and fyremadel) on day 2 of my cycle. Hope this doesn't mean you are delayed 🤞🤞

kirstysmbc · 25/08/2023 14:16

@Steph186 Sorry, just read you've already contacted the clinic!

Steph186 · 25/08/2023 14:25

@kirstysmbc I’m I’ve got leftover meds at home, BUT I’m on holiday and don’t get home until very late on Sat night 🤦🏻‍♀️

Everything I’ve read online says I’d need to start on day 2, but the earliest I could start would be day 3. Hopefully it can be a bit later, just my luck if not 😩.

kirstysmbc · 25/08/2023 14:40

I@Steph186 Are you overseas or in the U.K.? Any chance you could pick up meds where you are if clinic email something through?

Steph186 · 25/08/2023 14:46

@kirstysmbc overseas 🤦🏻‍♀️ Honestly the chance of this happening with my complete lack of cycles was basically zero so I didn’t even consider it when booking!

Hopefully they come back and either have a solution or say it’s ok. If not I guess there’s nothing we can do but wait 😩

That's crazy you have to pay for it, is that on top of your package fee?

You may be ok, I had the same thing this week where my non existent period decided to turn up and the nurse said ideally we start oestrogen on day 2 but it can also be day three. I had my medication delivered literally the day before (coincidentally) so started on day 2 (today!)

@GCS34 just finished our planning appointment .... Progynova x3 daily and ovamex until day 12 scan (booked for 6th sept) then Progynova x 3 daily and 3 pessaries a day (fml I'm going to be rattling like a pack of tictacs!) then provisional transfer is booked for 12 sept ! So in total from today three weeks !! I have everything crossed that you are on the same plan 🥰 let me know how you get on !

Steph186 · 25/08/2023 15:03

@Lowo21 that’s great to hear thanks! Hopefully I get told the same and we will be transferring around the same time! 🤞

Custard7891 · 25/08/2023 15:41

@TTCMama17 It must just be luck of the draw, as we're NHS funded for this first round and I have received good communication and good care from Oxford. I'm not sure how it could have been better really. We're an hour from the clinic too by the way, worked out we drove a total of 15 hours for all the appointments. Have you been over the 5p toll bridge yet?? That was a fun extra bit of stress haha! Was handy though having David Lloyd gym virtually next door to the clinic, as we're members so we worked in there before/after our scans and stuff.

TTCMama17 · 25/08/2023 15:49

@Custard7891 - Definitely is a luck of the draw! All in all there have never been bad experiences just one slightly better than the last.

Yes I have been over that bridge! 😂I love going over it, I feel like it takes me back to olden times and I love handing over the pennies! Can you tell I don't live a very exciting life? I am also a member but I've never even thought of using it before and after appointments! Might have to keep that in mind.

Doughnut89 · 25/08/2023 15:55

Yep @Lowo21 yea on top of my package fee I have to pay extra for blood tests, even when they’re aware there is a concern. This is one of the many reasons I’m so fed up of them. They are greedy, money grabbing charlatans with no care for their patients

We are Platinum members which means we can use any gym, unsure what membership you have but if you have the same then just setup in the cafe and treat yourself to a nice smoothie for after 😁

Lolly2507 · 25/08/2023 18:56

So I've just had my EC this morning it was actually pretty rough because they messed up my meds we drove back to Essex then had to go into London again 😅 cue me lying in the back of the car for hours! They said I have a pretty high chance of OHSS as whilst I was doing mild short protocol but had 30 follicles in the end and 19 eggs retrieved so I'm in a bit of pain but glad to he home now.
Lucky me I get to do another ten injections now haha.

Willard89 · 25/08/2023 19:00

Hi all, not sure if anyone can help me or offer advice but I started stims for IVF cycle on Sunday. I’m on a pretty low dose due to high AMH. Had my first scan today and they saw 44 follicles across two ovaries. I think the sizes are between 8 & 12. I am freeking out about OHSS. They have lowered the dose and I am due back on Monday for another scan. Just wondering if there is any positive outcomes? They are talking about cancelling my cycle. I’m having an elective freeze all.

Ellenn · 25/08/2023 19:10

@Doughnut89 i agree that it seems some clinics really do charge crazy amounts. It’s horrible because everyone who needs to use these clinics are really desperate for a baby so would pay as much as they can afford reallt 😳

is your clinic bringing your scan any earlier because of the bleeding? I think it’s only meant to be concerning if you are cramping/in pain and filling pads rather than just when you wipe. Although I totally get its so triggering and you just think the worst don’t you xx

Lolly2507 · 25/08/2023 19:12

@Lowo21 so excited for you! I know what you mean think we all feel like a science experiment the amount of meds going around 😅

Lolly2507 · 25/08/2023 19:14

@Willard89 there's things they can do to lower your risk mine gave me letrozole which slowed down my follicles a bit and I had a successful EC today. As you're doing freeze all that'll allow your body to recover and hopefully at worse it'll be mild. Fingers crossed for you!

Ellenn · 25/08/2023 19:24

@Willard89 they will usually only fully cancel cycle before collection if develop severe OHSS or your oestrogen goes crazy high as that means you are very likely to get OHSS. Are they monitoring your oestrogen?

do you have any symptoms at the moment? I got moderate OHSS at my last freeze all cycle, you do recover fairly quickly especially after you have the withdrawal bleed

@Lowo21 so exciting it’s 3 weeks to go!! What dose of progynova are you on? Is it 3 x 4mg or is it something else? How are you feeling bae excited? 12th sept is not long at all. Hoorah!! 🥰 unfortunately our timelines are a little different…

so, I've been put on a short FET cycle as we predicted.

We're not having the cetrotide to stop ovulation due to my period history and bullshit uterus. I also am being scanned at Day 10, not day 15 like most, to check how I am responding to the drugs so they can make changes earlier because of my lining history and that I've never got above 6.5mm 🙄
Drugs and Dose wise, I’m on full whack - 4mg tablets for first few days, then 6mg for a few days, then 12mg for the rest, so max dose apparently (I asked why I couldn't start straight off on 12mg and she said I'd just be sick - it would be too much too soon and I'd be ill). If I am not responding on the day 10 scan they will also add in patches as well.

baseline scan on Tues 5th (day after back from holiday) to check my ovaries and make sure I'm not about to ovulate (chance would be a fine thing!) then starting after the drugs are here. Hoping to start around the 13 Sept. So not quite same as you unfortunately. 😤🥺

TTCMama17 · 25/08/2023 20:18

@GCS34 - no 12pm isn't too bad. I'm thankful I don't have to wake up at stupid o'clock. I started the pessaries last night and I am cramping! Woo I forgot about the cramps but telling myself it'll all be worth it.

@Custard7891 - we're also Platinum but can't say I've been at the gym for a while since restarting the IVF journey. It may be a good distraction.

How is everyone feeling on this Friday evening?

Ellenn · 25/08/2023 20:25

@GCS34 wooo! That’s great you have a plan I hope all the drugs they throw at the lining is effective 🤞 6.5mm isn’t too far off! So will you be starting meds on day of baseline scan? It’s not too far off at all, although I know it drags doesn’t it!

im planning a busy weekend tonight on the train back home from London. How are you doing @TTCMama17 ?

KG1244 · 25/08/2023 20:28

@TTCMama17 thank you, already symptom spotting and panicking it hasn’t worked 😂

seems like it’s been a busy day here with ECs. Hope everyone is doing ok xx
