Hey @GCS34 no no you are right ! I'm equally as surprised 😯
So ..PCOS joy = absent periods, but randomly yesterday my body decided it would do something right and I started a bleed. Confused and unsure if this was a good thing I phoned TFP clinic and the lovely nurse said ideally as I know what protocol I am on for FET (short protocol) and we are looking to do this as part of the next cycle (sept) I would start meds on day three (tomorrow) by some pure luck I was issued my meds invoice and we paid at the beginning of the week and they were delivered yesterday. So the nurse said to take Progynova and the ovamex (they have also put it on my portal).
My meeting on Wednesday is to run through the rest of the plan leading up to including and after FET. I am really surprised that they haven't indicated what you will be on. As we have chatted about your situation seems to be very similar to mine and from what I have been told there are only a few options for FET... natural and medicated and either induce a bleed or wait for your natural cycle to kick in. Did they discuss this with you previously before your EC?

@Lowo21 Oh amazing! That is great news that you already have them. Wonder why they issued your meds already, when they said to me that I wouldn't get my protocol until my meeting tomorrow, and only then would the drugs be ordered etc. When did you have your protocol issued? As I've not had anything really from mine other than the results of the embryos, and the lab report / images / the embryologists phone call last week. Did you have another meeting?
Only that I would be medicated and that message I shared with you the other day. F knows, I'll find out tomorrow I guess! 🙄😅

@KG1244 did it all go ok? Embryo on board and now officially PUPO??

KG1244 · 24/08/2023 18:15

@kirstysmbc @Lowo21 thank you ❤️

@Ellenn yes officially PUPO. The doctor was happy with how it went so let’s hope this bean is sticky! How are you doing lovely? ❤️

@KG1244 amazing 🥰 when is your OTD?

I’ve been struggling a little today as I’m really close to when I miscarried in January now. I know there is nothing I can do to change outcomes but my brain seems to be thinking the worst case scenario which is silly I need to try and stay positive but it’s difficult 😞

LittleAm · 24/08/2023 18:26

Hello everyone! I took some time off being online whilst work went a bit crazy.
im going for a scan tomorrow to see how the last week of evorel patches are working. To be honest I think I’ve given up all hope now! I’m on a modified frozen cycle this time. Just have no one to talk to and I’m really down

Doughnut89 · 24/08/2023 15:08

@TTCMama17 thats great that you love had a really good experience at your clinic. I’m self funding and I actually now hate London Women’s Clinic. I regret going with them so much, they have been the worst.

I was so nervous for my transfer, it’s such a horrible waiting game all of it but good luck for Tuesday and I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you

So sorry you have had a negative experience. If you decide to change I can not recommend TFP enough. They have been patient and very reassuring at every stage. I hope you are ok 😔

Lowo21 · 24/08/2023 19:03

@LittleAm I'm so sorry you feel alone. You aren't alone I promise and please don't lose hope. I'm sorry for my naivety but are your patches for EC?

Lowo21 · 24/08/2023 19:04

@KG1244 oooo so exciting, how are you feeling in yourself ?

Lowo21 · 24/08/2023 19:08

@Ellenn I can't begin to imagine how you feel and I can only say that we are all routing for you and whatever the outcome on the next few weeks we are here. Do you have anything non baby related you can focus on? Is there something you have wanted to do for a while that you could enjoy now? Trip away? Art project ? Thinking of you

@Ellenn i second what @Lowo21 said - you couldn’t have a bigger group of girls than us that are routing for you SO much. I really think this is your time. Third times a charm 🤍 without trying to compare or drag up those feelings (and don’t say if you don’t want to) but did you have any signs before at all? Just be kind to yourself. Scan is 2 weeks am I right?
perhaps what @Lowo21 said and something different to break the mould. Day trips / paint a room in the house / go for a date night etc.

@Doughnut89 im so sorry london women’s clinic has let you down. Has there been something specifically or is it just a build up of general shitness? Do you have many embryos with them? I know moving doesn’t cost money for a lot of places, but appreciate it is a lot when treatment is already underway and you are familiar with them / vice versa.

Ellenn · 24/08/2023 20:30

Thanks for your nice words @GCS34 and @Lowo21 I was actually thinking of planning a weekend of painting our hallway actually! Tomorrow I have my final day of the dance course whicH will be fun I’m sure. Just my symptoms come/go during the day so although I’m sure it’s normal makes you overthink!

my scan is at 7 wks next Thursday (31st) 🙂 🤞 I had nausea and pregnancy symptoms with my last transfer as well before I miscarried and actually they stayed even after as my hcg levels took awhile to decrease as they were high.

reallyy appreciate everyone here, it’s so nice to have others who understand the difficulties of fertility treatment xx

LittleAm · 24/08/2023 21:10

Hi @Lowo21 thank you! No I’ve got 3 frozen embryos, the patches are thicken my womb lining. Previously have used Progynova. X

@Ellenn ahhh great minds! Hopefully you’ll be doing some more painting soon too 🥰 sorry I got your scan date wrong - times gone away with itself! Did you get to a 7 weeks one before? Again don’t answer if uncomfortable.

just thought I’d share for you - My friend miscarried her first pregnancy and she was really in a bad like you were. Like anyone is! She had so much anxiety around it and scans. She’s now pregnant again and she has been so worried the whole way through and when she has a day feeling less sick she panics like you, so I think it’s completely normal and everyone is the same. She actually felt really good about 2 weeks ago and thought the worst. She had her 12 week scan last week and everything is absolutely perfect. So I’m
Sharing hopefully to make you feel a little better. Even if it’s just a smidge 🥰

Ellenn · 24/08/2023 22:31

@GCS34 nope not reached 7 wks before! Last time I got a scan at 6 wks and got to see heartbeat and it looked great but wasn’t to be. Hence why I definitely don’t want an earlier scan this time as it’s a short lived relief!

thanks for sharing that! It seems after major googling that symptoms are not the most reliable things 🙈but sometimes difficult to get your brain to reason with things ..

@Ellenn thats positive then that progress to now is a good sign. Did they give any inclination before as to when it happened? agree with the early scan. Same applies for early testing. If it says positive, how much is ‘real’ and how much is the trigger (although for medicated FET I don’t think that would apply right - as you have no trigger)

and yeah brains are dick heads. It’s like we try ‘trick them’ into thinking we’re not bothered or by thinking the worst and not getting hopes up prepare us, even though we all know that it’s just a trick and we don’t believe it 😂🙈

MrsMotts · 25/08/2023 00:47

@kirstysmbc i’m sorry it wasn’t as positive as you’d hoped but as others have said, you only need one! (Also re my first comment on age I’m so sorry - I misread the thread and thought you were also in the 34 club!)

second scan tomorrow for me. My right ovary made an appearance which really shocked us all. I have 1 that’s already at around 10mm so probably a cyst but even if it’s a follicle it’s likely to be over mature so I’m kind of counting that one out.

I have 2 OK ones on the left, and 1 OK one on the right. A couple of smaller ones that could still catch up but we were expecting possibly no response at all so we will collect whatever we can and keep everything crossed for a decent quality tough cookie. I keep trying not to think beyond the next step if that makes sense? So not really thinking beyond each scan and kind of preparing for failure at each stage so anything additional is a bonus I guess.
are you scanning again tomorrow? Sending lots of luck for 2 beautiful follicles ❤️

I’ve felt surprisingly ok through the stims, so worried I’m going to crash and burn through progesterone if we get that far!

Ellenn · 25/08/2023 06:14

@GCS34 they just said most miscarriages are caused by abnormal embryos so it’s unlucky I’ve had two so far! Actually in my FET I did take triggers (although after ovulation) as my clinic uses them in natural cycles to help promote good lining and it apparently had better outcomes 🤷‍♀️

do you have your appointment today? Hope you get a plan in place 😬

Thanks @Ellenn yes at 3:30PM. Just hope once the plan is sorted that we can start asap as I feel I’m limbo just waiting around for nothing it seems atm!
how are you feeling today?

KG1244 · 25/08/2023 09:55

@Ellenn 4th September. Awww hun, I can imagine it must be torture. Just remember this is a different time and a different embryo. All we can do is hope ❤️

@LittleAm so sorry to hear you’re having a bad time. Be kind to yourself. I completely get it - I honestly almost feel at the moment like my body isn’t my own. We’re all here with you ❤️

@Lowo21 thanks lovely. Feeling good, little bit crampy but I think that’s from the transfer. Urgh I just really hope it’s worked this time ❤️

@MrsMotts Thanks for your message. I had my second scan this morning and still not looking good. The biggest one I had has grown enormous (almost 30mm) so I think this is too big, and the rest have barely grown at all. I think there's 2 10-15mm and a 6ish 7mm and under. Waiting for a call from the clinic later today to say what to do next, but the nurse wasn't giving anything away. No idea if they will tell me to keep going if there's already one that is so big...

I hope your scan goes better!

TTCMama17 · 25/08/2023 10:54

@GCS34 - my last round was NHS and I have to say looking back. The clinic and Oxford have been so much better this round (when I've personally funded) than last time. I get more regular checks, they get back to me quicker. It sucks but I suppose for them it's all about the money. I have to be at Oxford for 12:00 and it's about an hour away so I'll have to plan my water intake well 😂

@Doughnut89 - I'm so sorry your clinic has made you feel like this. It's so crap because it's such a shitty process we have to go through and the people that come along on the journey can either make it or break it. If moving your embryos is an option I would whole heartedly recommend TFP. They've been nothing short of amazing. Thank you for the well wishes, I'm eating my pineapple and will be having my McDonalds fries afterwards hoping that both embabies stick!!!

@KG1244 - congrats on being PUPO! How are you feeling? I'll be thinking of you in this 2ww and hope that it all goes well on OTD!

TTCMama17 · 25/08/2023 10:56

Separate topic - is anyone on Cylogest Pessaries - do you use them vaginally or rectally? Vaginally makes so much mess but I'm not sure if rectally get absorbed properly! It does say you can use them either way but was looking for guidance.

kirstysmbc · 25/08/2023 11:23

@TTCMama17 My clinic always advise to do them rectally, so that's what I've always done. I googled it the first time and did see something about it potentially absorbing better, and certainly less messy. Good luck!

Doughnut89 · 25/08/2023 12:11

Thanks @Lowo21 @GCS34 and @TTCMama17 it sounds like TFP is a great clinic based on feedback on here.
@GCS34 yea it’s been a build up of a few things. My original consultant was just very dismissive and he didn’t really listen to me which was frustrating. Also London Womens Clinic are the Ryanair of fertility clinics, they add hidden costs on for everything and are not transparent or upfront on anything. The final straw has been my bleeding which is still continuing. Thankfully the pregnancy tests are still showing positive but they told me they were concerned about it and advised I have more blood tests. However it’s going to cost me another £100. Surely it should come under the HUGE fees I have already paid for the IVF treatment package. They seem to have very little duty of care or moral conviction. I just find their attitude and lack of compassion disgusting.
Unfortunately I have 3 frozen embryos still with them. If I am able to, I think I would like to move them to another clinic
