@Custard7891 wish I had the willpower to hold out for that long! I’m going to try my hardest though. Just worried the embryos may not thaw properly. All these worries we have xx

@GCS34 yes TFP Oxford here too! They’ve been great, I can’t fault them tbh!

Lowo21 · 23/08/2023 22:22

@Lolly2507 I was told I would only have to wait for one cycle, so one bleed after the withdrawal bleed from EC. It's been just under 4 weeks from EC and starting all the meds etc within the next week for FET. Planning meeting on friday !!

@Lolly2507 literally the exact same thing for me as it was for @Lowo21. EC for me was 2nd aug, planning meeting Friday which makes it 23 days between - not much really. I will probs stars med in a few weeks.

@TTCMama17 and @Custard7891 ahhh fellow TFP’ers. I am not at Oxford but TFP Nottingham. And @Lowo21 is TFP too. Great clinic and I can’t fault mine either to be fair.

@KG1244 good luck for your transfer, it is today? I’ve got so many bruises from
the lubion so glad I only need to take once a day 🙈 I’ve found after I inject it if I rub the area super hard for 5 mins it does help (I mean still sore afterwards but not quite as painful)

hey 👋 to all the new people joining, sorry I’ve not managed to quite keep up with the thread! Just trying to wish away time here until my scan 😳

GCS34 · 24/08/2023 08:16

good luck @KG1244 for this afternoon!! Get that embryo on board and start the worst 2 weeks ever!! 😅

KG1244 · 24/08/2023 08:18

@Ellenn @GCS34 thank you so much, really appreciate it ❤️ I’m ready to go now, whatever the result.
and yes, fuck lubion (unless this round works, in which case, I love it!)

@KG1244 😂 how come you’re on progesterone injections rather than the delightful pessaries?! I want the injections personally. What hurts about them? Is it like the antagonist one where it kinda makes your leg sting and weird after?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 24/08/2023 08:28

Good luck @KG1244

Ellenn · 24/08/2023 09:01

@GCS34 much worse than the antagonist ones. It’s not really injecting that’s painful afterwards the whole area is sore for a few days. Means trying to find a new spot every day can be challenging 🙈 I’m on extra progesterone due to previous miscarriages so not sure if they choose to use injectable over pessaries if you have had losses before? Unsure if @KG1244 clinic has different reasons? All clinics can have quite different protocols 🤷‍♀️

have you got a start date for medication yet?

KG1244 · 24/08/2023 10:32

@Hopingforno2in2023 thank you so much

@GCS34 so I’m on pessaries, lubion and patches. The lubion doesn’t hurt me really going in, it’s afterwards - very sore and lumpy but agree with @Ellenn rubbing the area straight after definitely helps a bit! I haven’t actually asked them why they’ve given me this protocol - maybe cause natural FET failed for me. No idea tbh

@KG1244 good luck today ! Hope all goes well ☺️

Good luck @KG1244 !! Hope everything goes smoothly

Custard7891 · 24/08/2023 11:09

@TTCMama17 Yeah there's always something to worry about or something unexpected that happens, that's what I've learnt from this first round. I've had a positive experience at Oxford though. It's not my local clinic; there's a satellite clinic where I live but they have staffing issues at the mo and we wanted to crack on, so we opted for all treatment at Oxford.

@KG1244 Oh wow. Why so much (if you don't mind me asking). Is that due to personally needing them for you, or is everyone like that? I guess I'll find out at 3:30pm tomorrow what mine will be! @Lowo21 what time is yours tomorrow? Is yours a video one too?
@Ellenn thanks for the info! I remember you saying you were on double bubble progesterone, but wasn't sure if the injections were normal protocol.
I have my planning appointment tomorrow, so I will find out then. So watch this space! Soon I hope - I'll be really upset if they want me to have a period given I have a resting lining of 1mm at any time in the month / year, so they usually just do random starts, so fingers crossed the same will apply for this!

@KG1244 @TTCMama17 If you listen to that BFN podcast I harp on about all the time, the professor on that that gives the drs answers to stuff, is Professor Tim from TFP Oxford. Do either of you see him?

@Custard7891 that should have been!! Sorry

Custard7891 · 24/08/2023 11:54

@GCS34 no I've only seen female doctors and nurses so far at Oxford

KG1244 · 24/08/2023 12:09

@GCS34 im not sure to be honest. I think it’s standard at my clinic.

Hi all due to start Progynova 3 x a day tomorrow has anyone had any side effects ? Also having one Ovamex injection a day too ready for FET !

Lowo21 · 24/08/2023 12:18

@GCS34 mine is 1400 tomorrow yea video husband is away at the moment so he is dialling in too 🤣

TTCMama17 · 24/08/2023 12:46

@GCS34 - I did meet one of the male professors but cannot remember his name for the life of me! Oxford have been great and we are personally funding it ourselves so not sure if that makes a difference on treatment - I really hope it doesn't.

@Custard7891 - same my satellite clinic is in Cheltenham which is the closest one to us in the Cotswolds, again no complaints!

I am starting to get nervous for the transfer on Tuesday now - I'm trying to keep my mind off it but it is really hard. Not sure how I'm going to last the 2WW.

@TTCMama17 I don't think it would make a difference on treatment? If anything I'd like to think they were more attentive! Have you had your NHS round previously? Or does your area not fund any? Really is a bullshit postcode lottery isn't it! How are you feeling for Tueday? Have you got a time yet or not? It's a FET right?

@Lowo21 Awww that's good though. How come you have all your meds already if this is your first FET? or have I got that wrapped round my head a bit? What is your call about if you're starting today? x

Lowo21 · 24/08/2023 14:35

Hey @GCS34 no no you are right ! I'm equally as surprised 😯
So ..PCOS joy = absent periods, but randomly yesterday my body decided it would do something right and I started a bleed. Confused and unsure if this was a good thing I phoned TFP clinic and the lovely nurse said ideally as I know what protocol I am on for FET (short protocol) and we are looking to do this as part of the next cycle (sept) I would start meds on day three (tomorrow) by some pure luck I was issued my meds invoice and we paid at the beginning of the week and they were delivered yesterday. So the nurse said to take Progynova and the ovamex (they have also put it on my portal).
My meeting on Wednesday is to run through the rest of the plan leading up to including and after FET. I am really surprised that they haven't indicated what you will be on. As we have chatted about your situation seems to be very similar to mine and from what I have been told there are only a few options for FET... natural and medicated and either induce a bleed or wait for your natural cycle to kick in. Did they discuss this with you previously before your EC?

Sorry meeting on Friday not Wednesday !!!

@TTCMama17 thats great that you love had a really good experience at your clinic. I’m self funding and I actually now hate London Women’s Clinic. I regret going with them so much, they have been the worst.

I was so nervous for my transfer, it’s such a horrible waiting game all of it but good luck for Tuesday and I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you
