Just been the wee and there’s light red blood on the tissue. Now I’m losing my mind 😥

Oh @SH998, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Try not to panic too much, I had the same throughout 1st tri with my little one. Can you call the clinic today at all?

@Olivia199 I know many people experience this and half the time its normal and innocent enough but cant help shit yourself nonetheless.

There wasn't anything there throughout the night as I was in the toilet at least 5 times checking, was slighting pink when wiped first thing this morning but nothing since. It cant be irritation from the pessaries as i go up the backend.

I've emailed the clinic for a call back, I cant imagine they will say a lot and just tell me to attend my scan date on Tuesday.

Its all such a worry, I honestly take my hat off to you doing this the second time around, if I manage the first pregnancy without giving myself a heart attack I wouldn't be going back for another try lol

Hopefully the clinic can scan you sooner @SH998 💛 have you had your viability scan yet? How far along are you?

@wtawtaw my viability scan is Tuesday, ill be 8 weeks 3 days then which I think is a long time to wait. I paid for a private scan a week ago as the anxiety was turning me into a mental case. Last week the private clinic confirmed that baby was exact size it should be with a strong heartbeat and no abnormal looking areas of bleed around it. So seeing blood was a complete shock to the system.

So sorry you are worried @SH998, it does sound normal but completely understand the fear. Remember you’ve already seen the heartbeat which is a really good indicator for a successful pregnancy. Hopefully you get some reassurance on tues- my scan is also Tues but I'll just be 7wks.

@Walker12 thank you for the reassurance, if its not one thing then its something else isn't it.

I am glad I seen the heartbeat last week or I would have been freaking out even more right now. The clinic has called and said unless it gets heavier or painful they will see me Tuesday. Thankfully my scans 8.30am so no waiting around.

How exciting, the first time seeing your baby's heartbeat, its such a magical experience. Is this your first child?

@SH998 the worry is awful! But youve seen a strong heartbeat, and it is very unlikely for things go badly after that! But if you dont settle... could going tot he EPU be an option?

@ASGIRC well remembered! Yes this will be my 3rd scan. And probably my last until the 12 week one in 3 weeks time. Then I’ll book a private reassurance and gender scan at 16 weeks. :)

@SH998 i had a tiny bit of bleeding a couple of weeks ago as well which really worried me, but as others have said you’ve seen a strong heartbeat which is a great sign. Try not to worry!

@IVFfirsttimer91 is this also a clinic scan or is it private?
I was really surprised yesterday when the doctor booked me in for a second scan, in 2 weeks, at the clinic! My 12 week scan is booked for the 26th of September, so it would have been nearly 6 weeks between scans! now it will only be 4!

@ASGIRC Your right, I have seen a strong heartbeat and this is what I have to keep remembering, all was fine last weekend so I need to chill. Its times like this when I would normally crack open the wine to forget my worries lol

@IVFfirsttimer91 it is worrying no matter how many times you hear it can happen and can be quite normal most times. Tuesday cant come quick enough. I'm glad you've moved on from that and looking forward to your scan :)

On a positive note, has anyone contacted their midwife services yet or do you wait until your signed off from the IVF clinic after viability scan? I now wouldn't be contacting them until after Tuesday but I was just wondering what the process is. Ill be 8 and half weeks after my official viability scan, am I leaving it too late or doesn't it make much difference.

@SH998 OMG wine! I miss wine! (though not right now... the thought is making me queasy!LOL) I think that will be the hardest thing to cope without these 8 more months! The lack of wine!

As for the midwife, id contact them now. It makes no difference whether youve been signed off from the clinic or not! Its a completely different process!

I went to the GP to book an appt at 4 weeks! We dont have midwives here in Portugal, so its the GP surgery that follows you. Could only get an appt for September, tried booking it end of July!!

@ASGIRC I feel that, I do love a Prosecco or 2 and I could really do with one now lol. It will be well deserved when we both get to enjoy another glass in a few months :)

I know I should contact them now as I assume there will be wait here too but after last nights spotting I feel like I'm tempting fate by arranging before my official scan. I know that sounds insane but that pretty much sums me up right now ha ha

@SH998 no, I get it! I definitely thought I was tempting fate when I booked my 2nd and 3rd trimester scans!

@SH998 i know what you mean. That’s why I’m having the extra scan today so that I can check on things. I had my first midwife appointment a few weeks ago, I’d definitely contact them if you haven’t already :)

@IVFfirsttimer91 I'm sure there will be many more scans booked in the next few months lol. Ill look into the midwife booking this weekend when I've had some sleep and can actually see straight lol.

@SH998 😂 you’re probably right. I’m not planning on booking any extra scans until 16 weeks where I’m going to do a reassurance scan/gender scan :). I’m sorry you haven’t been sleeping! I think it’s in the air as I’ve been having a terrible time at night too. Just can’t seem to settle. During the day I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat but work gets in the way 👎🏻

Oh lovely, your finding out what your having, I am too. I could never manage the whole 9 months with not knowing, is it your first? did read somewhere about an early blood test at something ridiculous like 6 weeks or something to confirm baby's gender, something to do with testing our blood for male cells in your something. I was tempted by that but my partner talked me out of it lol

Today I feel like an absolute slob and look very homeless. I'm working from home today, haven't got dressed yet, hair is a state - it needs doing but I'm waiting until after the 12 scan, have a sore whitehead on my mouth 🤢 feel sick as a pig 🙃

I hope I manage to to look and feel more presentable in second tri 🫣

@SH998 yes it’s my first. And possibly only 😂 my partner would like at least one more but I don’t know if I can put myself through the whole IVF process again. We have 6 Frosties if we do decide to try again after this one. Is this your first baby too? I would never be able to go the whole 9 without knowing. I want to know like today 😂😂 my sister is even more invested in finding out if she’s having a niece or nephew (first baby for my side of the family).

@wtawtaw i too look very homeless today. I’m still wearing my nightie. I need to get dressed in a minute though and I REALLY don’t want to. But it’s bad form to turn up for a scan in a pink aristocats nightie apparently 🤷🏼‍♀️. Really hope you feel better soon! I’m wondering about this ‘pregnancy glow’ that I hear people talk about, because I’m certainly not glowing!

@IVFfirsttimer91 6 frosties, wow that's an amazing. You have a little football team waiting for you lol :). First one this side too, I would love more than 1 as we have 2 frosties but the stress of this one will probably stop me from having anymore, mind you never say never lol. My partner on the other hand is happy with just our one, every time I mention the 2 frosties he starts hyperventilating lol. Your sister sounds just as excited as you bless her, my brother just announced they are having another and not find out the sex, I have anxiety for them not knowing lol.

@wtawtaw if there's anytime you can get away with the homeless look its now, embrace and enjoy it :)

@wtawtaw OMG SAME ON THE MOUTH WHITEHEAD!!! It's not white yet, so can't pop it, but it's developing, swollen and fricking painful!!!!!
I'm also a bit nauseous which I'm 100% not down with.

However, because I don't work from home, I am looking presentable. But no makeup today.

I will also 100% be finding out the sex. And I feel guilty saying this but I'm hoping for a girl. I am a carrier for a genetic illness that only affects boys, so taking a male pregnancy to term has never really been on the cards...
But obviously, I'm not using my own eggs, so this is not an issue... But a lifetime of thinking this way is difficult to put away!

@SH998 we were so surprised when it came to EC and had 32 collected. Particularly as the test at the beginning of the whole thing said to expect maybe 14 eggs max?! But it was definitely a good surprise. But now we have the dilemma of what to do with the extra embryos if we decide we’re done. Im really leaning towards donating them to other women in our position as it’s just not a fun place to be. But will probably hold off on that for a few years until I decide i definitely am not having any more.

My partner wants to have 6 children. I have said no way 😂.
