@10degreessunny you're right, I worked myself up into a right state yesterday, just can't seem to stop worrying! I did call my clinic and ask about counselling, and also went for a drink with my friend last night and basically poured my heart out to her and felt a bit better. It's tough because my husband is wonderful but absolutely useless at knowing what to say when I'm in an anxiety spiral, and I've got very few other people to talk to about this right now.

Thank you for your kind words - I've made a resolve to stop googling and try and get some counselling booked in, hopefully that will help.

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 10:42

@Olivia199 oh no, that sounds dreadful!! Particularly having to go to the far away hospital when you feel that sick!
Hope the cyclizine kicked in!

Day off for me, today, so I'm off to the beach!
Didn't sleep very well last night, weird dreams, that I don't remember, kept waking me up, so I tossed and turned a lot.
Have a frozen juice box ready to take with me, and some other in the fridge! Wish me luck today! I can't face even thinking about babybels, so it will be a liquid diet for me, until I probably have chips! 😂

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 10:48

I also seem to have some mild boob pain today. Definitely not something I needed! 😂😂😂
This pregnancy needs to stop with the symptoms!! I've gotten used to not having them!

@ASGIRC you wait until the orgasms in your sleep start, then you won't be complaining 🤣

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 11:29

@wtawtaw I won't complain about those, but I get them without being pregnant, so I'm not sure I'd class it as a symptom 😂😂😂
None so far, I'm sorry to report, though!!! 😂

I also packed a cereal bar, but just the thought of it is making me a bit nauseous...

wtawtaw · 15/08/2023 12:16

Well aren't you lucky @ASGIRC 😂
Your taste buds will probably change every day, one day I'm on spaghetti hoops and the next I can't stand them, I'm constantly down the shops buying what I feel like at the time as my preferences change by the hour 😅

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 12:26

@wtawtaw it's horrible, isn't it??

The weird thing is, I don't feel nauseous at all. But if I eat the things I don't fancy, then I do get a bit nauseous!

I just wish I wasn't hungry. My stomach starts hurting towards the end of the day 😂😂

Currently having a juice box, orange and carrot. It's going down well, but I'm done with it, even though its not even half finished. It's only 20cl as well, so TINY!
But I feel fairly full now, so taking it as a win.
Sadly it's a straw type, not a bottle cao type, so can't keep it for later.

beehappy19 · 15/08/2023 12:36

Reading through everyone’s symptoms is giving me anxiety! I don’t have anything. I do feel more tired but that could just be the progesterone and I’m more bloated than usual but no real symptoms at all.

wtawtaw · 15/08/2023 13:53

@beehappy19 a lot of women go through the whole pregnancy with no symptoms so don't worry, you'll find a lot of people go first tri with none. How many weeks are you!m? Have you had your viability scan yet? I didn't get many symptoms until 6 weeks

beehappy19 · 15/08/2023 14:15

@wtawtaw I’m only 6 weeks tomorrow so it’s still early days. I have a scan the end of next week. I think I just want to feel something for reassurance haha. How far along are you?

wtawtaw · 15/08/2023 14:38

@beehappy19 ah ok that's good, still time for symptoms yet then 😁 I'm 8 weeks tomorrow!

loulamay · 15/08/2023 16:56

Wishing all of you wonderful ladies the best of luck and happy, healthy pregnancies! No luck over here so I'm going to head off to sink my head in a bucket of wine tonight and then have a relaxing weekend before thinking about our options on Monday. Much love x

Lauralozzle · 15/08/2023 17:33

@loulamay I’m sorry. I know how crap it is. Drink all the wine!

wtawtaw · 15/08/2023 17:36

@loulamay sorry to hear this ☹️ but I wish you lots of luck should you decide to try again x

IVFfirsttimer91 · 15/08/2023 17:50

@loulamay im so sorry it hasn’t worked this time. Hopefully next time will be better, enjoy the wine and sending hugs xx

Walker12 · 15/08/2023 17:59

Evening all!
Hope you managed OK today @Olivia199!

Feeling very lucky that I mostly work from home. I've been so so tired all day.. Slept really badly as had a horrible dream which I won't go into but I am sure you can all guess. However I am 6wks today so celebrating the small milestone.

@loulamay I'm so sorry it hasn't worked out, and you've had such a tough journey (literally!) with it- but wishing you all the luck in the world for whatever you decide next. Enjoy the wine and some cuddles with your little one.

Olivia199 · 15/08/2023 19:28

@lloulamay - I'm so so sorry lovely. Enjoy your wine and I have everything crossed for whatever steps you take next. You've got this!

@EllieCatMom - I'm so sorry you're still feeling so anxious. I'm definitely having waves of that. Does your clinic offer any counselling sessions? It may not help reassure you but it might be quite nice to talk it all over with someone face to face?

Of course you're always welcome to vent here!! It's a time we are all on edge and I'm sure we can relate to how you're feeling! I'm definitely better this time round but my first pregnancy I was an absolute wreck!

How has today been?

@Walker12 - Congratualtions on making it to 6 weeks. Glad you can work from home. I feel you with the tiredness (though I think maybe the cyclizine is making me more tired too). I had all the windows open driving to and from work and had to stop twice on the way home. Once to vomit and once because I physically couldn't keep my eyes open. Had a 10 minute shut eye at a service station.

I'm struggling with the sickness, I'll admit. Last time it was bad but I was also off work after a threatened miscarriage and only had myself to care for. I also found cyclizine a miracle drug last time and it stopped me feeling and being sick.

This time, I'm being sick quite a lot, feel constantly nauseous and like I need to be near a bowl and even the cyclizine doesn't seem to be helping. Though I think it is helping, it's just taking it from unbearable to still pretty awful but slightly better.

Everyone at work now knows because I'm being sick so much and darting off from patients. Half my bloody patients today knew for the same reason. It's just not sustainable!

I'm back at my normal work tomorrow and off Thursday. Hoping to talk to the GP Thursday about whether there's anything else they can do.

@Olivia199 that sounds horrendous, I'm so sorry you're so unwell with it. I imagine there must be alternative medications to try so yes definitely worth checking with your GP. Otherwise it may be that they can sign you off for a while until it settles (hopefully!)

beehappy19 · 15/08/2023 20:45

@Olivia199 oh dear that doesn’t sound nice for you at all. Definitely go back to the GP… maybe you could try ondansetron instead of cyclizine.

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 20:58

@Olivia199 I'm sorry you're feeling so sick. Hope the GP manages to come up with something.

@loulamay Im so sorry it hasn't worked out particularly with how difficult it was.
Enjoy your wine!

@beehappy19 enjoy it! The only symptom I have is the loss of appetite. And I had cramps the other day!
M. y sore boobs didn't last long!
No symptoms is the dream, though!!

I managed eat a burger and chips at the beach, and it didn't make me sick! It was amazing!
Now I'm getting hungry and I can't think of what to eat...
Also ready for bed, as didn't sleep well last night.
Really unsure of what to do. Might have sone juice and call it a night!

10degreessunny · 16/08/2023 07:43

Morning everyone.
@EllieCatMom glad to hear that you're feeling better, and so good to have a friend to talk to about it to help with emotional support.
@loulamay I'm really sorry this round hasn't worked, I hope you can spend some time off the worry of IVF and recharge yourself for future plan.

I have had a bit of morning, woke up at 5am with pain on my lower right side which was really sore. It has now passed and I'm on my way to work but so worried it's ectopic as was very painful. Jeez you think you're doing okay then you just wake up to this!

X

Hi ladies,

I'm probably jumping way ahead of myself but I'm already panicking at the thought. When's the normal stage to stop progesterone, I've read your body should kick in between 8/12 week? If I wish to remain on it for the foreseeable future or at least until a more comfortable stage of the pregnancy will the midwife/GP agree as I assume my clinic wouldn't continue with the prescriptions (NHS).

All past investigations have shown there is nothing wrong (but there clearly has been as been TTC for 7 years). I've always said I'm certain its more hormone related than a physical issue. Previous to this round I was on low progesterone or at least lower than I am now. They went all out this round and my progesterone levels are through the roof at the moment. (last years miscarriage was showing a very small gestational sac at 8 weeks which google tells me is due to low progesterone)

For years I've spotted the week leading up to my period and again my best friend google has said this could be the result of low progesterone (although the clinic doesn't see the spotting as an issue). I'm concerned that my body wouldn't kick in as it should and produce the right amount of progesterone to maintain a healthy pregnancy which could lead to issues further down the line. I've come so far to get to this stage I really don't want to fall at the last hurdle over something that could be prevented.

I know I'm sounding like a crazy person and possibly stressing over something that might not even be an issue but my teeny brain feels like its going to blow soon lol

Any thoughts/advice is much appreciated :)

wtawtaw · 16/08/2023 13:37

@SH998 my clinic advise to stop taking progesterone on OTD!! I was super dreading doing that but listened to them! They reassured me that in a normal cycle the one follicle that releases the egg goes on to produce progesterone until the placenta takes over (between 8-12 weeks). The more eggs you had collected; the more progesterone you'll be producing. How many eggs did you have collected?

I believe frozen transfers it's normal to stay on progesterone until 12 weeks which is what my clinic does with FET.

My clinic also told me that stopping the pessaries won't cause a miscarriage but it will just delay the bleeding of one if you're going to miscarry.
