Glad everyone is doing well! After a couple of days without symptoms my nausea came back strongly - felt weirdly relieved but I've been very worn out the last few days.
Sorry you've been worried @SH998 but so glad to see you've had a scan and all is well. How lovely to see so much movement! I had wondered about the dopplers so it's good to know it's worth steering clear.
I have my private scan tomorrow evening, will be 9 weeks exactly- feeling terrified but also know I have no reason to think anything is wrong. Not sure how I am going to get through work tomorrow!

Charming81 · 04/09/2023 21:24

@SH998 oh so happy your scan went well! ❤️❤️❤️ Try to relax now. At least for a couple of days 😂😂😂

ASGIRC · 04/09/2023 21:27

@Charming81 Thats all theoretical risk. It wouldnt worry me. Just like everything is poison, even water, depending on quantity.

However, they are very unreliable, so I dont think they are particularly reassuring, and potentially only bring more worry if you dont find the heartbeat, which can be extremely difficult to do.

Today I ended up having proper nausea again. As I was making dinner it got really bad. I had to lay down and drink some water and hope it passed. It was also coupled with that faint feeling you get when your blood pressure is low.
Its better now, but still kinda there.

wtawtaw · 04/09/2023 21:31

@SH998 so glad your scan went well 💛💛

ASGIRC · 04/09/2023 21:31

@SH998 amazing!!! Im glad your scan went well and you got to see so much!!!

Sangels267 · 04/09/2023 21:47

Hi everyone! Last 3 days have been horrendous! After feeling like all the symptoms disappeared, the nausea and sickness came back on Saturday morning, I couldn't keep anything down. Feeling a little better today and managed to eat some toast and banana.

I don't know who asked about the Flu jab, but I'm having it. I'm a nurse so I have it every year and I'm more at risk working in the hospital.

I'm glad everyone's scans are ok and little ones are growing 🥰 I'm still awaiting for the date of my 12 week scan, debating if I should book a private one for around 10 weeks or if I should save the money. I'm having my first midwife appointment on Wednesday 🙂

SH998 · 04/09/2023 22:01

Thank you ladies and all your scans will be just as amazing 😘. I’ll now be perfectly calm … for the next week at least lol 🤦🏼‍♀️
@Walker12 good luck on tomorrows scan, you will be amazed by how much can see of baby at 9 weeks. X

SH998 · 04/09/2023 22:02

@ASGIRC and thank you for the birthday wishes, I agree 83 was an awesome year 😃

ASGIRC · 04/09/2023 22:08

@SH998 I ended up delaying my transfer, from what I had originally planned, as I wanted to have a massive blowout for my 40th! (and then life just made me have to delay it even further!)
My 41st will be a lot more subdued, as I will be VERY pregnant!

SH998 · 05/09/2023 05:55

@ASGIRC I’ve never been one to enjoy my birthday, mainly as I feel life was passing me by without the one thing I wanted more than anything … a child. Each birthday I’ve got older and no child in my life so literally this has been the best birthday, even without booze, and that’s saying something as I absolutely love the wine lol 😂
You can make up for it next birthday I’m sure x

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 08:20

Hope your scan goes well today @Walker12 🍀💛

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 09:21

Random question but has any of you had a LLETZ procedure/loop excision for abnormal cells from a smear test?

ASGIRC · 05/09/2023 11:09

@SH998 oh yeah! And I'll still have a nice birthday... Just without wine 😂😂

I'm glad you had a good birthday!

@wtawtaw can't say that I have. Never had abnormal cells on my smear, so no procedures done afterwards.

@Walker12 good luck on your scan!!

SH998 · 05/09/2023 11:25

@Walker12 good luck for todays scan 😃

@wtawtaw i had laser for abnormal cells about 13 years ago. Was on yearly smears for about 7 years now back to normal. Didn’t feel a thing x

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 11:33

@SH998 ah ok, is that what they call a LEEP? I had a LLETZ which I think is the same thing 10 years ago and I didn't realise it can cause short cervix which in turn can potentially cause second trimester miscarriage and preterm labour 🤯 did you know that?

I only found out from someone else on another forum so naturally I've been on Google for ages!! Turns out some people request to get their cervix length measured from around 16 weeks who have had this procedure just incase of short cervix, if found early enough, all the nasties can be prevented. I'm gonna phone the midwife and ask later, if they refuse I'm just going to get a private cervical length measurement scan at 16 weeks onwards.

I'm not saying this to scare anyone of course but I'm glad I found this out now otherwise I would have never of known. Just something to be aware of I guess

SH998 · 05/09/2023 12:41

@wtawtaw it might be the same I’ve no idea. Throughout all the IVF process no one has ever mentioned this to me or said my history might cause issues.

Looks like it’s time to get back on google lol 😂 thanks for the heads up x

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 12:48

@SH998 no same which is quite worrying that no one does give us the heads up and I most certainly don't want to use this pregnancy as a 'test' and then for someone to realise next time, IF I'm lucky enough to ever get pregnant again that I need closely monitoring. I have the midwife calling me at 4pm so will be interesting to hear what she's got to say about it. I did email the clinic too and they said definitely let the midwife know. Have you had your booking appointment yet?

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 12:49

@SH998 just to add to that, lots of women do have that procedure and have absolutely no concerns at all through pregnancy but it's better to know sooner rather than later 🙂

SH998 · 05/09/2023 13:07

@wtawtaw if you could let me know what your midwife says when she replies that would be great :) I did make the midwife aware of it too and she didn’t comment on it either 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve already had my booking appointment, my 12 week scan is 25th September when I’ll be 13 weeks 2 days. How about you?

ASGIRC · 05/09/2023 13:28

I think cervix measuring is pretty standard, because a short cervix is very dangerous.
It is just part of the normal pre natal care.

My doctor at the clinic told me that I can stop progesterone at 12 weeks, unless it turns out I have a short cervix, as the progesterone helps with keeping it shut!
So Im crossing EVERYTHING that my cervix is the correct lenght, cause, honestly, if I have to put in those pessaries the whole 9 months, Im gonna have a breakdown 😂

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 13:32

@SH998 yes of course, will do! Ahhh that means you're only 3 days behind me! My 12 wk scan is next Tuesday but I'll only be 11+6 x

SH998 · 05/09/2023 16:09

@wtawtaw how exciting for you all, I’m looking at the scan as the safety point (I know things can still happen but unlikely) so I can’t wait for mine. Only another 3 weeks lol 😂

wtawtaw · 05/09/2023 16:11

@SH998 just spoken to the midwife, she's put a referral in for me and the consultant will decide whether I should be measured from 14 weeks onwards. Will know next week hopefully. She did say that the cervix isn't routinely measured at either 12 or 20 weeks so bit confused by that (where did that screen shot come from?) but if they don't end up doing it, I'll just a private one to check it anyway!
