Thanks guys! I’ve just started casting on for a one like that for my baby. DP wants a matching one too 😂😂😂 though that is going to take so much longer!

On another note. I’m feeling just really rubbish and fed up this evening. I’m becoming really sore from the constant pessaries and the top of my bum/back (muffin top area) is just one big bruise from the injections every 3 days. I didn’t realise how much of a toll all these meds were taking on my body until recently and I’m just so fed up of them! I hope everyone else is less bruised and fed up than me.

@IVFfirsttimer91 I am not on any injections, so no bruising for me, but I want to bin the damn pessaries and the liners!
how much longer do you have to take them for?

Today I was really fed up but of being nauseous. Spent the whole day with low key nausea, even after eating (well, maybe not for the 1st 20 minutes)
Its eased off a bit now, but DAMN! Be gone!!!

I am with you! My belly and upper thighs are full of bruises! I can't wait to stop with the injections. I have to do 2 every day 🥴

I am not bothered at all about the pessaries though. I'd be happy to keep using them for my peace of mind 😁

For who has already had instructions to stop with all the drugs, how does it work? Do you have to stop them all of a sudden or will you wean off?

As you can see from the time, I am having trouble sleeping. I wake up every night at about 4am an stay awake for at least one hour 🙄

@Charming81 im up at 6.15am even on weekends to do my meds lol.

I have to start weaning my meds as of next Saturday (10 weeks) for 2 weeks so fully off them by 12 weeks. I’m really not happy to do that and was hoping they would allow maybe another 2/3 weeks on them but no such luck.

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow so I might mention my concerns to her. Has your clinic mentioned anything to you about coming off them?

Regarding the pessaries It’s funny how different clinics are. My clinic told me it doesn’t make any difference at all but it just makes people feel better to wean off them. I got told to carry on 3 times a day until 8 weeks and then I can stop if I don’t have any left or if I have any left I can do two a day for 3ish days and then 1 a day for a few days but it was all very much do what you want as it doesn’t make a difference!

@SH998 no, not yet. I only know I have to take them up to the end of the 12th week. I will inform them today about the scan and they might give me instructions. I will ask if I can carry on with the pessaries anyway 🙈

Now, I have a very personal question for you girls, if you want to answer. Sex... Are you having any? We are not, we are absolutely terrified 🙈 We were wondering when we could start again, maybe after the 12th week?

@Charming81 was your scan a private one? They gave me my instructions when they done my official viability scan.

I haven’t really felt sicky until yesterday which lasted most of the day, so far so good today lol 😂

@Charming81 I got told by my clinic to come off my pessaries on OTD and was terrified, I double checked with them and they said they are not needed, they told me all it does is delay bleeding if you were to miscarry, they said they don't prevent a miscarriage. I did what they said, no weaning off or anything! I was on 3 x 400mg ones from day after transfer.

I had my first booking appointment last week and the midwife mentioned you can have sex as normal, however we've also been too scared!! So we haven't. We said we would wait until after 12 weeks but even then I'd probably be wary. I've read some people bleed after sex when pregnant and I just don't know if I could cope with that anxiety!

@ASGIRC i have 2 weeks left until i start being ‘weaned’ off my meds. But I timed it perfectly to be out of pretty much all of them by then, so not much weaning to be done haha!

@Charming81 we are having sex whenever I feel well enough 😂 currently about once a week.

They are all private because my clinic is in Spain. They asked for 2 scans, one at 6 weeks and one at 8 weeks. I think they will give me instructions today.

My next scan will be, hopefully, at 11 weeks together with the NIPT. I'll go to London for this one, to the Fetal Medicine centre. Another wait, 3 weeks seems a lifetime! 😂

Same for me! For us actually, he is probably more scare than me! We'll of we get to the 12th week how we will feel 🤞🏻

You stopped on OTD?! I know it is probably all psychological, but I could not cope with that 😂

@Charming81 yup it made me a bit 🤪, I was in the toilet every hour to check if I was bleeding for weeks after!! When I had my 7 week scan the clinic did check to see if my follicles that produced the progesterone were still there

@wtawtaw this one probably took me about 2 weeks stopping and starting :) if I sat down and really just knitted it would probably have taken 2/3 days

3 weeks seems a lifetime away doesnt it, I only had my scan 6 days ago and already thinking I should get another as I’m already unsettled. I’m hoping tomorrow I’ll have more of an idea when my scan will be. They said between 12/14 weeks. If it’s the 14 I’ll deffo be booking another in the meantime.

@Charming81 I'm taking my pessaries and tablets until I'm 14 weeks pregnant. But starting to wean them off from 12 weeks. No injections over here, can't even imagine all the bruises for you.

@SH998 I am having a scan every 2-3 weeks at the moment. I couldn't cope waiting longer.

@Sangels267 it's the bruises and the pain. The heparin is painful 😣

That hat is so lovely @IVFfirsttimer91! I have finally caved and bought a tiny babygrow and it makes me so happy to look at.

Re. pessaries I'm on mine until 16 weeks but no real clue why (I have had a mc before so wonder if that's a factor). Also the blood thinner injections until 12 weeks which I am strangely more anxious about stopping even though I was only put on them after OHSS. The clinic said no need to wean, just to stop them, but I'm tempted to slowly reduce.

@Charming81 sex wise I am also so nervous even though I know it wouldn't do any harm! Our clinic said to start whenever we wanted after transfer and we haven't yet although getting a bit impatient now 😂 I think I also fear the possible bleeding as other have said, even though that wouldn't indicate a problem it would really freak me out. But I can't be celibate much longer so we will see!!

This goes perfectly with my theory that the pessaries are basically a placebo they use to make people feel better, which is why everyone is on such different dosages.
Of course, if you have deficient progesterone, they are likely to be helpful, just like taking any supplement, but the prolonged use is just to make people feel better.
At my transfer, the doctor who performed it said not to worry if I missed a dose, as there is no scientific proof they actually do anything.

And, after there is a placenta, that will be producing the progesterone needed!

I havent been told when or how to stop, but I dont want to do any "weaning". I want to stop them completely.

3 days until my scan! Cant wait...

@Charming81 no sex for me, as Im single, but at the transfer, the doctor did say to resume all aspects of life normally, including sex life.
There is no danger to the pregnancy.

We had sex and I bleed twice that week, I’m sure it’s just a massive coincidence but it’s completely out me off. No sex for us until the baby’s born now lol 😂

Hello! Am sat here really nervous - I have my clinic scan tomorrow (will be eight weeks) - just to check everything is ok - then will be “signed off”. I have had one previous cycle (this was a FET) and got to eight weeks and found it was a blighted ovum (the sac and placenta had developed but no baby…). Holding out for a better result this time!

@Justalittlebitblondie keeping everything crossed the outcome is different this time!!!
