I am not an expert, but from what I know they can double every 2 to 3 days. You had a good increase anyway, but I understand your concern, I would panic as well.

How was the result between the first 2? What did the clinic say?

Please ignore me, done my sums wrong in a panic and almost gave myself a heart attack!

I was all ready to say it can take 2/3 days to double, and it had actually increased a good amount!

Hey everyone, so happy to see all the positive news.

I have been cramping and spotting since last night - spotting not super strong, cramping w bit stronger - but i just have a really bad feeling that something is wrong.

Anyone else have this? i did a clear blue digital and it should say 2-3 weeks timing wise and it said 3+, so i don’t think hcg is falling. but if at all the rise makes me anxious that it’s a molar pregnancy, which i know is rare but not so rare that it doesn’t happen… probably not being super rational here. i have my scan in a week and there is probably little point spending hundreds of pounds to scan right now but i just can’t not think about it.

@Charming81 @ASGIRC actually it’s worse than I expected after looking at the online calculations, I’ve had 3 betas

First beta was 807

Second beta was 2445 (72 hours between) which I think is something like a 108% 2 day increase (accordance with online calculator)

Third beta was 6942 (96 hours between) which is only a 68.5% 2 day increase

Im now absolutely beside myself(currently 5 weeks 6 days). I know it’s low but can’t find anything on google to clarify just how bad it is 😢

@SH998 beta after 1200 double every 3 days at least. After 6000 they can take even 4 days. The online calculator gives you the total without considering this important factor.

@SH998 I don’t think you need to panick. given that doubling means a 100% increase, you seemed bang on schedule for the first one and then it does tend to flatten a bit after 6000 i think so the 68% doesn’t seem terrible… when was your first beta taken?

First beta - 27th July (4 weeks 5 days)
Second beta - 30th July (5 weeks 1 day)
Third beta - 3rd August (5 weeks 5 days )

Im clueless to all this but google isn’t doing me any favours right now.

@Charming81 thank you, the screenshot is really helpful. There doesn’t appear to be 2 sites that state the same information on google so difficult to know which/what to follow.

I think the lack of pregnancy symptoms is not helping me.

After todays results I came home from work, crawled into bed, sobbed while eating 2 packs of crisps. I have another pack next to me, maybe I should put them back.

@SH998 eat the crisps and enjoy them! In many different websites they say what I have just posted. I am Italian and also on Italian websites they say exactly the same things. Relax! Obviously this doesn't mean that everything is going perfectly well and you will have your baby. The road ahead is still veeeeery long, but I don't think you should be worried for this beta result. Have you spoken to your clinic btw?

@SH998 I agree with @Charming81. I think your first beta results are really good, and even if you take the strictest definition of doubling every 2-3 days you are still fine with 68% after 2 days.

But then i’m also walking around with a big cloud today even though i know spotting can be super normal… sigh

@Charming81 thank you, you’ve been a big help. Sometimes I’m my own worst enemy!
My clinic is NHS and they don’t do beta tests so paid privately.

I was concerned last week as was spotting and was advised by them to call if it go worse and take a test in a weeks time to see if it still showed pregnant so not much help.

I haven’t got my scan for 2 weeks so it’s going to be a killer.

How you feeling?

@SH998 you could tell them anyway and ask for their opinion. My clinic is in Spain and they only asked me to do a pregnancy test. I have done the beta and they were very supportive when I told them, but I guess NHS clinics are not that great on the support side 🙄 At least according to my experience.

I am ok. I feel like I live suspended in a bubble waiting for the next step. We had book a 4 day holiday in Wales. We were supposed to go on Monday, but we read everywhere that it is better to avoid long car rides if not necessary, especially if you have a history of miscarriages. So we lost the money we paid for the apartment 😭😭😭 unless my beta on Sunday will be really bad, in that case we will go! I am not very positive today 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

When I asked my Dr if we could do a third beta test he refused because he said the numbers can be so misleading! I honestly think it's just the first two tests showing doubling that really matter.

I remember this waiting period between beta and first scan being particularly agonising! Do whatever you need to do to get through it but today, at this moment, you are pregnant. Don't let anything take that away.

Im DPT7, I’ve been bleeding (and still am) since DPT4, every time I wipe and a bit in a panty liner, has anyone has this and had a positive test result.

@ororchid29 - I'm so sorry you're feeling like this lovely. I've had lots of spotting on and off and all is, so far, fine. I had the same with my first pregnancy! It's so scary and sends your head in a spin, but even the cramps are absolutely normal!

It sounds like your HCG is going up and until the scan it's just a case of crossing fingers.

@SH998 - Bless you lovely, I totally get the panic but the ladies are right (and it's been confirmed to me in person by a consultant!). After 6000 they're expecting a double after FOUR days. Which means 68% in two is cracking!

@Hi83, sorry you're worried! Yes I started spotting on day 5 which was the same day I got my positive. That kept on until day 8ish, maybe 9? But has totally stopped now.
Sort of a brown pesserie good on the last couple days but definitely pink to begin with.

@orchid29 @Hi83 I spotted between days 5 and 10, mainly when wiping but there was some instances when it was on my underwear. I was also getting period like pains. Try not to panic, spotting can be normal during early pregnancy.
