I'm 7dp3dt and have had zero symptoms. Not even cramping. Did a test today (I know it's still very early) and stark white negative. Official test day not until Sunday so I'll keep hoping until then. I'm not holding out much hope though. My last cycle I had 3 day 5 good blasts transferred and nothing. This time it was 2 good day 3s. Not expecting a positive to be honest. I think it's just either my age and all the embryos are abnormal or for whatever reason they don't implant.

orchid29 · 01/08/2023 11:15

@Fluxie I completely understand how you feel - it was the same for me the last time. Everything seemed perfect! So this time i was really sceptical that it could work but it did so far. As Olivia said it’s a roll of the dice…

@Sangels267 congratulations!! Amazing news!

orchid29 · 01/08/2023 11:18

@Overunder123 oh i’m so sorry to hear about your experiences. Normally after 3 good embryos they do some investigation if there is a reason - did you get anything checked?

Lauralozzle · 01/08/2023 11:19

@Fluxie I’m sorry. I know how a failed transfer hurts. Take some time to look after yourself. I had a 4 month break before starting again, went on holiday to Germany - got back in touch with ourselves as a couple doing things we love to do. Your trip to Italy sounds perfect, enjoy the wine!

@10degreessunny probably start testing 9dp5dt. If I’m not spotting by then. I think from Saturday (so 7dp5dt) I’ll be checking my underwear every 5 minutes as that’s when it started last time and led to the BFN. Right when my period would otherwise be due.

loulamay · 01/08/2023 11:23

@Overunder123 keep the faith a little longer!

When you talk about your transfers, were these all single transfers or do you mean that this is your fifth transfer? Do you mind me asking how old you are? x

No this is only my second transfer. They transferred 3 the first time and 2 this time. Nothing decent to freeze.
I'm 41.
Was trying naturally for 18 months before starting the ivf. I've had immunes testing done which didn't really show up a huge amount. Had one intralipids drip this time and I'm on dexamethasone. They always say my lining looks great etc.
I did have one natural pregnancy at the start of the year which ended in a mmc at 7 weeks.
If this round definitely fails I'll look into what other tests I could do.

loulamay · 01/08/2023 11:41

@Overunder123 without knowing much more detail, I am HUGELY surprised that they would transfer 3 embryos, especially given your age! In fact, I am surprised at a transfer of 2!

ASGIRC · 01/08/2023 11:44

@Overunder123 It is still early, so I wouldnt lose all hope just yet! I shall keep my fingers crossed for you!

@10degreessunny I might be a bit weird, but a no symptom pregnancy is my main wish! I keep seeing people saying they started having nausea at 6 weeks, and Im still over a week away from that, and I just do NOT want that to happen to me!

@Lauralozzle fingers crossed for no spotting!

The clinic said there was a 30% chance of 1 sticking, less than 10% chance of 2 and less than 1% chance of all 3. They said that at my age at least 60% of my eggs will be dodgy so without testing each embryo there's no way to know.

orchid29 · 01/08/2023 12:39

@Overunder123 oh ok, that makes more sense. but three at once - that still seems really unconventional unless the quality seemed really low? I think most clinics only do single transfers these days, as i think it can actually reduce the chances.

It is still early so fingers crossed it works out!

in terms of what can cause it - other than embryo quality, which is of course the leading reason - are things like endometriosis, adenomyosis and scarring of the uterus (sometimes it’s possible to spot that on a 3d ultrasound), a tendency towards blood clots (which is why some people are being put on blood thinners), and a chronic infection of the uterus that can be without symptoms (which can be treated with antibiotics).

everything else like NK cells is very speculative…

orchid29 · 01/08/2023 12:43

at least that’s what i took away from my frantic research the last time - but of course not an expert in any way!!

I'm at ARGC London. They seem quite fond of multiple transfers. But it obviously isn't working for me despite their high stats. This will be my last round with them anyway. Cost is another reason!
I had a hysteroscopy in May and other than some small fibroids they said all looked good. I'm taking twice daily clexane injections and 1x Aspirin a day as blood thinners.
I've been looking at other clinics and their approaches to the over 40s so I'll have a think what to do next once official test day is over and is confirmed negative.

Justalittlebitblondie · 01/08/2023 14:17

Well - I caved - am five days early testing (a week since transferring a five day blastocyst) and it was not my first wee of the day (sorry if too graphic) but got a very definite blue line… am in shock…

Hi83 · 01/08/2023 15:01

I’m not sure what’s going on with me, I was out this morning walking my dogs and thought I was bleeding rushed home and there was only a little bit, went over to my sisters and went to the loo and more blood on the tissue but nothing on the pad. To me it seems to much for implantation but I’ve also got no cramps (I usually have bad cramps on my first day) I’m only 5dpt
I feel like it’s game over but I’m sure the next few hours will be telling….

Olivia199 · 01/08/2023 15:16

@Justalittlebitblondie - Yay! Huge congratulations!

Olivia199 · 01/08/2023 15:17

@Hi83 - Are you using any pesseries at all? I started spotting which has been intermittent since 5dpt, I think it's just all the irritation from them. I had the same with my daughter and it freaked me out both time! Got everything crossed all is well.

Hi83 · 01/08/2023 15:20

Yea but I’m using the other end for them, I’ve rang the clinic and she said there nothing they can do to change the course of where ever this is going.
she said it could be from the catheter, could be implantation.
I said that I’ve had no cramping yet, and usually I cramp really bad the first day of my period. This is awful.
they also advised to stay off doctor google 😅

Lauralozzle · 01/08/2023 15:29

@Justalittlebitblondie Congratulations! Wonderful news!

@Hi83 Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I need to stop symptom spotting. I’ve twinges around my ovaries today, even though I only have one that works. Mainly on the left side though. It’s too early for it to be anything interesting. Maybe it’s the ovaries getting smaller again and recovering from Egg Collection. It did seem to hit me more this time with uncomfortable full/heavy/aching feeling. Urgh. I’ve got 10 more days of this!

Olivia199 · 01/08/2023 15:51

@Hi83 - I was always told it was the progesterone itself that could cause the spotting. Hopefully everything is okay!

@Lauralozzle fingers crossed!!!

ASGIRC · 01/08/2023 16:26

Tried to get another beta this afternoon, to check on the evolution, but was denied!!
There this catholic event in Lisbon, and the pope is coming, and basically the whole city is shut down because of it! So the lab couldnt get the sample to the lab...

Hi83 · 01/08/2023 16:35

Fingers crossed @Lauralozzle

thank you for letting me know @Olivia199 just been to the loo again hardly anything on the liner and hardly anything there when I wipe so 🙏

10degreessunny · 01/08/2023 17:32

Hey @loulamay no I haven't been icing, I don the injections around 7am so cant be bothered to faff around too much.
@Lauralozzle ah it's so unnerving isn't it. I thought I would be a person to wait the whole duration but no I'm thinking possibly testing Friday 7DPT, as I just want to get clarity but I know that it could totally throw me off!
@ASGIRC when is 6 weeks for you?

10degreessunny · 01/08/2023 17:34

@Justalittlebitblondie that's exciting, is this your first IVF treatment? X
