@Bristol1988 Im sorry you are feeling that way!
Its a bit early, still! have you tested at all? This is 5dpt, right? or 6? Whens your OTD?

Bristol1988 · 30/07/2023 08:58

@ASGIRC 6dpt today, haven’t tested yet! OTD is Friday, but I have a day off Wednesday so might cave then.

haha well done to your mum! Sounds like it went well

Lauralozzle · 30/07/2023 09:05

@Fluxie You can definitely get period symptoms/start of period on progesterone. Last cycle I started to get period symptoms about 5dp5dt. Put it down to progesterone as progesterone can mimic period symptoms, that’s why in normal 2WW it’s difficult to know if it’s pregnancy or period on the way.

By 7dp5dt I had started spotting brown. It never went away , just got heavier. I hoped it was implantation but it wasn’t. It came exactly when I’d usually be due a period (12dpo) - ie 12 days after egg collection. I have a 12 day luteal phase. So I had brown spotting getting heavier until OTD which was BFN (had been negative since 7dp5dt). Day after I stopped progesterone my period came full force and lasted about 10 days! In my head, it wanted to start when I started spotting.

If I make it to 7-9dp5dt without spotting I’ll be happy!

I’m doubling up the pessaries where I can at the moment! Until I at least get to that point to see if it makes a difference. Consultant talked about doubling the progesterone pessaries on our WTF app but then never did. I have quite the stash from before though!

Labradoodlepup · 30/07/2023 09:10

Hi all, transfer went well on Wednesday and I’ve been living vicariously through all of you who are ahead of my timeline! Only 4dp5dt and I’m itching to test but keep claiming to my husband that I’ll wait until at least Wednesday which is 14 days since the trigger. I did test the trigger the day of my transfer and it was still there but very light.

@Olivia199 your progression picture is so satisfying!

@ASGIRC we all need someone like your mom in our our lives! I have a dinner tonight with friends that is normally pretty boozy and I’m not super keen on telling them so early, before even a positive test. Who knows what I’ll say😅

@Walker12 that’s looking great, early congratulations💕

@Bristol1988 this waiting is so hard, but fingers crossed that its progesterone side effects

ASGIRC · 30/07/2023 09:27

@Labradoodlepup I have the PERFECT one time excuse!!! Tell them you have a small gum infection and that you are on metrodinazol, which is one of those antibiotics you cannot drink on (as it will have you puking from basically even smelling alcohol).

I had this in November, the infection was mild and my life was not affected as well, apart from not being able to drink for about a week!

You can use this with different people as well!

beehappy19 · 30/07/2023 10:21

Sorry to jump on this thread but I’m just really struggling! I’m 6 days post a 5 day transfer and I’ve felt like rubbish since if I’m honest, my stomach is so uncomfortable, not really painful although I have been having cramping on and off but just heavy and period like. I’m 100% convinced my period is coming and would be very surprised if it doesn’t. I’m so tried and have zero energy. I’m fed up with the progesterone suppositories 3 times a day which are probably what’s making me so tired. Test day isn’t until Friday and honestly I don’t know if I can cope until then feeling like this. Has anyone else just felt generally lethargic and just not right in the 2 week wait?
sorry for the rant!

Fluxie · 30/07/2023 10:30

@beehappy19 Hey- welcome! I think there are a few of us feeling this way at the moment. I've definitely had cramping but all my googling tells me this is a positive sign. I'm currently 7 dp5dt so I feel you. II can't currently sleep in my tummy (as I normally would) just feels uncomfortable. Do try to keep an open mind, whatever will be will be. And not long now until you can test. You got this! We all got this. xx

beehappy19 · 30/07/2023 10:41

Thank you for the reassurance. I’m not sure what I was expecting to feel but it just wasn’t this!

Fluxie · 30/07/2023 10:47

@Lauralozzle That's really interesting, thanks for sharing your experience! Really sorry that happened last time and ten day period sounds abysmal, esp after all you'd been through. I really thought it couldn't come.

I took progesterone to delay my period before I started stims and even a small dose of tablets held it off for nearly a week. Now I'm on 800mg plus 1000 injecton every other day so I think I'd be very surprised to see it. I'm curious because I've had cramping and spotting days 5 and 6 which I took as a good sign. Period now 5 days late. I normally have a short cycle but tbh my body doesn't what's normal anymore!

I think it's def worth taking more progesterone if possible. I'm coping on a high dose. Are you also on oestradiol? I'm on that orally three times a day.

Fluxie · 30/07/2023 10:50

@beehappy19 Progesterone definitely makes you tired! Just get some rest if possible and let your body do it's thing. Is this your first time? It's mine. I feel like this thread has taught me so much and been so positive. Thanks to @Olivia199 for organising. Keep checking in. You're not alone!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 30/07/2023 10:54

@beehappy19 heya!! I’m sorry you’re feeling so rubbish!! I definitely felt the exact same way during my 2ww. I was convinced it wasn’t working, until I caved at 9dpt and tested and got the shock of my life. Try not to be too disheartened as until you’ve tested you really don’t know the outcome. Xx

Walker12 · 30/07/2023 10:54

@Lauralozzle that sounds so horrible, really hope you have better luck this time. @beehappy19 hi and welcome! Lots of discomfort and general tiredness for me yes- it does seem to vary massively between individuals. If you look up progesterone side effects it does cover a really wide range of symptoms so I think it's just a bit of bad luck how much you are affected. Also, did you have a fresh cycle? As I felt awful after my egg collection and I think my body is still recovering from that, so might be similar for you. The bloating is unreal and I feel quite self conscious leaving the house as I absolutely look several months along! Hope you get your positive and its all worth it!

Walker12 · 30/07/2023 10:57

@Labradoodlepup well done for your patience with testing. Another excuse for not drinking is pretending you had a really heavy night the night before and so can't stomach it.. Good luck!

Fluxie · 30/07/2023 10:59

@Walker12 Yes I also feel several months along. What a cruel irony. Also my thighs are enormous, but unless it's water weight it's gonna be all the pain au chocolats I've been convinced my body needs! I know it feels really superficial to complain about weight gain, but thought I'd at least wanna start pregnancy from normal weight. I think progesterone has made me hungry AF.

Lauralozzle · 30/07/2023 11:02

@Fluxie Nope, just utrogestan 200 mg x3 a day as per protocol. So 600mg a day. I’ve upped that to 1000mg myself though by doubling up x2 a day. Naughty, but I’m just wondering if that’ll stop any spotting come Saturday.

beehappy19 · 30/07/2023 11:05

@fluxie yes it’s my first time too, this thread does make you feel less alone which is amazing.

@IVFfirsttimer91 thank you, you are so right until you test you don’t really know the outcome. Massive congratulations to you! So happy it’s worked for you!

@Walker12 yes it’s a fresh transfer and I also feel very bloated. I definitely think the progesterone is affecting me. I just keep reminding myself I will know either way soon as I underestimated how this 2ww would feel! It’s nice to know I’m not alone in the way I’m feeling

Sangels267 · 30/07/2023 11:06

Hello. I found this website last night when I was panicking after some light brown spotting. I had my Frozen blastocyst transfer on the 21st July and my test day is on the 2nd August. I have been quite good and I haven’t tested yet! For now only symptoms are lighter cramping (compare to my period cramps) and spotting yesterday. I’m so nervous as we had a fresh transfer in March that failed :(

Fluxie · 30/07/2023 11:11

@Lauralozzle I honestly don't think there's a reason that I'm on such a high dose - II think it's just the clinic's MO. I've never been pregnant before and we think that's because of tube adhesions.

Fluxie · 30/07/2023 11:12

@Sangels267 Welcome! My test day is the 3rd. I'm thinkiing about doing one tomorrow. I've also had those same symptoms. I'm currently taking them as a positive sign!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 30/07/2023 11:14

@beehappy19 thank you!! It’s absolutely a rollercoaster of emotions up to and beyond the test. I got more spotting this morning and nearly had a mental break down, before I reminded myself that spotting particularly between weeks 5-8 is very normal and happens to 20% of people. Which helped put it in perspective.

@Sangels267 welcome!! Well done for holding out! Your test date is so close!! Everything you’ve described sounds totally normal to me (I’m absolutely not a doctor though).
only 3 days to go!!!

Sangels267 · 30/07/2023 11:18

@Fluxie I’m trying to take them as positive sign too as I didn’t had any symptoms the last time, fingers crossed.
I’ve ordered pregnancy tests today so they will arrive tomorrow. Maybe I will test on Tuesday as it’s only one day early.
I’m on Progesterone 400mg 3 times/day and Estradiol 4mg 3 times/day so hopefully it’s doing their job this time around.

Sangels267 · 30/07/2023 11:26

@IVFfirsttimer91 I don’t even know how I manage to hold off but it helps that this time I decided to not buy pregnancy tests early haha! Yes, only 3 days to go!

LittleAm · 30/07/2023 11:47

I’m in a total panic today! Last 2 nights I’ve fallen asleep and missed my Progynova. I feel like I’ve ruined this whole round. My scan is tomorrow to see if I’m ready for transfer. Gutted and so angry with myself. I’ve got friends visiting today but nobody knows we are going through this again so hopefully a distraction 😩

ASGIRC · 30/07/2023 12:15

Hi and welcome @beehappy19 and @Sangels267 !!

@Lauralozzle Im on 1200mg a day and it definitely worked so far. TBF, I dont think theres a guidance on dosage... As we can see from this thread alone, as we are on such varied dosages! From 300mg to 1800 a day!

@LittleAm I am sure you havent ruined anything! Not everyone takes estradiol and thing still work out! I didnt!
And when I had my transfer, the doctor said to not worry if I missed a dose of the progesterone, as theres no actual scientific proof you HAVE to take it, its just a boost to help the body do what it does.
So fingers crossed your scan goes well tomorrow! Will you be doing a trigger as well?

ASGIRC · 30/07/2023 12:17

Also, I only have 1 cheap test left. I am undecided on whether to get more or to just let go of the testing and maybe get 1 a week to make sure things are still happening?

Dont have my scan date yet, but it wont be before the 17th...
