@21C I'm so sorry AF arrived and you tested negative. Hopefully some rest and none fertility focused time will help. Good luck on next steps x

ASGIRC · 29/07/2023 09:54

@Fluxie thank you!!! Im sure shes gonna be over the moon!!! it will be her first (and possibly only - brother is the same age as me (irish twins) and also single, though he did get a puppy a few months ago!) grandchild!

Im unsure how I will cope with the interrogation that is no doubt coming my way... Also unsure on whether to also tell stepdad or keep him out of the loop for now...
I think my mom will be the better judge of that.

Stepdad isnt very supportive of me doing this on my own... Hes 85, so very old fashioned. And he likes to voive his opinions, even when they are not welcome...

So we shall see!

Walker12 · 29/07/2023 10:07

@Lauralozzle that sounds really positive! Good luck with your transfer

Keepingeverythingxxx · 29/07/2023 11:15

Awe bless you @21C. It is probably one of the hardest things to go through and it’s just heartbreaking when it fails. You’ve been through a lot both physically and mentally. Try to keep hope but remember it’s ok to not feel ok too.

After my failed rounds I found having something to focus on really helped whether that be planning your next transfer or even having a relaxing break away somewhere. I also accessed counselling which I found really useful but appreciate it isn’t for everyone.

Just take care of you xx

Fluxie · 29/07/2023 11:39

@ASGIRC My main suggestion is that you watch What we do in the Shadows as imo... it's phenomenal. So lovely to tell them. I say celebrate successes in all forms, it's amazing news and they'll be thrilled to share the journey with you by the sound of things.

My dreams were more baby orientated and more surreal. I woke up convinced that this must mean I'm pregnant. Don't know if or how I'm going to wait until Thursday. This is only day 6.

ASGIRC · 29/07/2023 11:52

@Fluxie Ive seen some of What you do In the Shadows. it is... not quite my type of humour. Though I do understand why people love it. I also dont love the Office.

I had some dreams, before doing the transfer, that I felt were clear indications it was all going to work out, as they were more positive than others (which were usually of the "I forgot my baby at home/at the shops/completely forgot it existed" type dreams, and the ones I had more recently were not like that at all!!!)

Are you going to hold off testing completely until OTD? I had a non squinter by day 7!

Olivia199 · 29/07/2023 12:06

@Fluxie - I've had crazily vivid dreams since the day before my positive. Like nothing I've had before!

@Keepingeverythingxxx - Thank you, I'll give that a go! I have the electronic wrist band thing from last time when I was also terrible so I'll dig that out. Hopefully being poorly is what's making it so bad and I'm not in for this from now on...

Hey everyone, been thinking of you all and hope you're doing ok. Congratulations to all those with positives and sending love to those whose ivf journey has ended for now.

I'm currently in hospital with suspected late onset OHSS. I have felt awful the last few days. The worst stomach and back pain and my stomach is so distended. It's been impossible to sleep as there is no comfortable position and paracetamol does nothing! The only silver lining is that this has confirmed I am pregnant. I'd rather have found out in a nicer way tho!

Olivia199 · 29/07/2023 12:15

@Lauralozzle - That's amazing news!!! Good luck for transfer.

As if today, when I feel too rough to even stand up, my sodding carbon dioxide alarm goes off. It's the old one and the new one still hasn't gone off but it requires a level of investigation that I don't have in me.

Fluxie · 29/07/2023 12:19

@Olivia199 Hey! Hope your sickness has subsided a bit. and that you can get some rest this weekend. When's your otd again? Funny about the dreams. Haven't been thiw weird since lockdown.

Mine have included; robot baby, husband pregnant and baby's hands in my bed. Too weird.

@ASGIRC I'm still trying to hang in there til the date, but weird symptoms have made me question it. And also worried that a neggy test out of the blue might come as more of a shock if I wait. Plus... going to Cornwall with my extended fam the day after and worried that if its neggy, more time to process it would be good.

Olivia199 · 29/07/2023 12:19

@AnaS86 - Oh I'm so sorry to hear you're so unwell! Amazing and congratulations that you're pregnant of course but yes, better ways to find out! I hope you're on the mend and feeling better soon. Xx

ASGIRC · 29/07/2023 12:26

@Olivia199 This really hasnt been a good month, apart from the positive!!

Hope you feel better soon!

@AnaS86 congrats, but that is really a horrible way to find out! hope they manage to help you and you feel better soon!

@Fluxie yeah, its a tough balance... Find out early or not? obviously, if its positive it doesnt matter, but if it isnt, what would you prefer?

Fluxie · 29/07/2023 12:37

@AnaS86 Hope you feel better soon. I'm so sorry you had to find out thiis way.

Fluxie · 29/07/2023 12:38

So guys... I've got some blood now. On 1000mg of progesterone a day, this can't be my period... can it? X

Olivia199 · 29/07/2023 12:44

@Fluxie - OTD is Monday for me!

Sorry you're having some blood, I know how horrible it is, but honestly it's unlikely to be anything ESPECIALLY your period. I had some yesterday and today it's totally gone. It's one of the most common pesserie side effects. Everything is this and friable and ready to bleed up there. It's so hard but try and trust that everything is okay!

Olivia199 · 29/07/2023 12:50

@ASGIRC - And no, this month has definitely left something to be desired in terms of feeling rough. But little one is being good as gold and fending for herself, despite my suboptimal parenting.

ttcsolomumtobe · 29/07/2023 12:53

@AnaS86 I'm so sorry to hear you are in hospital, I hope they are doing what's needed to get you on the mend. Congratulations on the pregnancy confirmation but yes, can understand it's not the circumstances people want.

@Fluxie sorry to hear of your bleeding, hopefully as @Olivia199 mentioned, it could just be a reaction to the pessaries.

Can I ask what MG of pessaries other people were given. Mine are 200mg, 3 times a day, I know yours was high too @ASGIRC

Olivia199 · 29/07/2023 12:56

@ttcsolomumtobe - mines 100mg 3x a day.

OP posts:
ttcsolomumtobe · 29/07/2023 13:00

@Olivia199 thank you

ASGIRC · 29/07/2023 13:01

@ttcsolomumtobe mine is 1200mg!!!! 6x200mg a day! Definitely excessive, but also definitely need to keep it going at least until the the scan in 3 weeks!!!

I'm going crazy about it (lightheartedly obvs! 😂)

ttcsolomumtobe · 29/07/2023 13:07

@ASGIRC I know your hate for them and how crazy they have been driving you 😅so hopefully once all confirmed well at the scan you can reduce or get rid of them

Fluxie · 29/07/2023 14:05

@ASGIRC I'm on 800 mg per day. 2 x pessaries. And then a jab in my bottom every other day- that my husband has to do. It's quite painful!

SH998 · 29/07/2023 14:19

@ttcsolomumtobe im on 2 x 400 pessaries a day ( 1 morning, 1 evening) plus 1 Lubion injection. I’m also on 4 estrogen a day.

I had my progesterone tested Thursday and it’s through the roof, which worried me but everything I’ve googled says there’s no harm in too much progesterone.
