I’m due to start my second round of FET in August so thought I would set up this group for some treatment buddies ❤️

@ttcsolomumtobe its great you’ve been relaxed throughout! I’m still struggling with really bad bloating from egg collection which has been causing some pain, so that’s been taking my attention really! I’m finding it difficult to feel positive about the result though, I guess that’s probably just because of nearly 2 years of nothing but negative tests!

ttcsolomumtobe · 07/08/2023 18:03

@IVF23 I found Coconut water and tomato juice really helpful to reduce bloating. I do feel I have been lucky with lack of symptoms, as that was defo part of the IVF that worried me.

I did a test the day after trigger as I've never seen a positive pregnancy test, was just totally curious. I was in 2 long term relationship in my 20s and not even a flicker of one and with the IUIs I always bled before OTD.

I think I'm just making myself feel okay by keep thinking I've done all I can, keep with the health eating and balance and see what OTD brings... Yet I may have a totally different view when the FRERs arrive or when it sets in. Genuinely feel like I'm in a bit of a dream/outs body watching myself as feels like 5 years in the planning etc comes down to this

scaredynoob · 07/08/2023 18:22

@ttcsolomumtobe , this will be your month ☺️

@ttcsolomumtobe @IVF23, I feel validated when you say "years of negative tests". After a point I stopped buying home pregnancy tests (cannot rememebr the last time I tested), stopped juvenile symptom spotting, "knew" period is due with the appearance of that odd face pimple - it was like clockwork.

I had forgotten how to "feel".

Then we got diagnosed with mild MF on prodding, but overall categories as "unexplained". We are undergoing NHS funded ICSI. This is my very first experience with all those injections, hormones etc, that started after my period last month, on this "short protocol"

And that's why with this procedure, it's a weird feeling with all those emotions of anxiety, fear, impatience, skepticism, confusion, disillusion. But most of all, a very unknown feeling makes a comeback - Hope

Hopingforno2in2023 · 07/08/2023 18:39

Wow so much happening this week, egg collections and transfers galore :)

I am sorry about your drop of @GCS34 but so pleased you have a really good embryo to transfer when you are ready.

I am still side effect free, scan tomorrow morning and start injections tomorrow evening. Am sure I will start feeling it then.

scaredynoob · 07/08/2023 18:44

@Hopingforno2in2023 - good luck with the journey!!!! I asked my partner to gimme the injections all through 😂

Hopingforno2in2023 · 07/08/2023 18:44

I’m going to try to be brave scaredy but I will probably get DH to do them 😂

LittleAm · 07/08/2023 18:52

@KG1244 it'll be interesting to try the patches! What stage are you at? I’ve maybe missed it on here!

sounds like a lot of EC and transfers happening! I had my egg retrieval a year ago and would love to offer any support I can to anyone, so if you’ve any questions please give me a shout 🙋🏻‍♀️

LavenderJoy · 07/08/2023 18:54

Did anyone have fryemadel and clexane injections after egg collection on their freeze all cycle? I believe its because I'm a risk of OHSS, but just wondered what to expect if they are going to make me bleed earlier than expected.

IVF23 · 07/08/2023 19:40

@ttcsolomumtobe thank you. I’ve been drinking coconut water but will give tomato juice a try! I think that’s a really great mindset to have and yes I also agree, it feels a bit surreal.

@scaredynoob appreciate you sharing your experience. Definitely such a mixture of emotions that can switch so so quickly.

Helene2019 · 07/08/2023 19:56

It took a while to catch up with all the posts. Bumper day of stuff happening! @scaredynoob and @LavenderJoy congrats both on getting through the collection and @scaredynoob I'm so pleased that your trigger was fine timing wise. Water is your friend, hope you ladies don't feel too uncomfortable. I always get constipated and bloated with wind after egg collection.

@GCS34 sorry to read your news I know the drop off sucks. But you have banked one high quality blastocyst and that's a success. I think it is your first cycle of IVF? The embryologist will review everything and your team might make changes to optimise your protocol/meds if you are having further collection cycles.

@IVF23 and @ttcsolomumtobe on your transfers 🥳

We had a suprise today - to recap only 3 of our eggs fertilised normally with ICSI and all these made it to day 3 but I wasn't too positive about when I last updated because of the anticipated drop off. We found out that 1 made it to day 5 high quality so had a fresh transfer today.

I have everything crossed for all the transfers today being sticky ones ✨✨

IVF23 · 07/08/2023 20:16

Brilliant news @Helene2019 fingers crossed for you!

It’s been a busy day of transfers and collections here!

ttcsolomumtobe · 07/08/2023 20:40

@scaredynoob all the feelings you mention are totally normal and it's good that you have hope. I think what IVF has given me that I didn't have when trying naturally or with IUI is more control and structure and for me I thrive really well with that. The unknown or living day to day (IUI I was hoping my pee for like 4 hours at a time, waking up at 1am to save a pee sample as I always drink so much on an evening, it was harder work than the injections). Also with the mild IVF I think for me it was being clear on that quality over quantity and that the mild is better for you body, therefore also your mental health.

@Hopingforno2in2023 I was waiting and preparing for side effects from everything I read and felt weird when they didn't come in, the main thing I had was thirst/dry mouth and heavy feelings in stomach, like the day before period. A bit of backache after I did like 13k steps. Had some bloat on day of EC but honestly nothing near what I was preparing myself for.

ttcsolomumtobe · 07/08/2023 20:44

@scaredynoob and thank you, I really do feel it's my month, overcoming the near cancellation, months of waiting and not having to have the hysteroscopy but confirmation no polyps. And today just felt good so decision for a day 3 transfer was made and so happy with my choice ☺️

KG1244 · 07/08/2023 21:13

@LittleAm ive got my first scan tomorrow - ready to get going! How about you?

So excited for all of you! This is such a big week! Baby dust to everyone ✨✨✨

Hopingforno2in2023 · 07/08/2023 21:21

Thanks @ttcsolomumtobe, I’m glad it was all quite smooth for you side effects wise :)

Congrats @Helene2019, have everything crossed for you.

LittleAm · 08/08/2023 07:52

@KG1244 good luck with your scan! We had a false start in July as my lining wouldn’t thicken. Even with extra Progynova. So I’m now on tablets to bring on a period and then I start patches

scaredynoob · 08/08/2023 09:47

I got the disheartening call just now from the embryologist.. after my EC yesterday, of the 13 eggs that were collected, 6 failed to fertilise, 6 showing signs of "maybe" delayed fertilisation, but not much hopes. Only 1 fertilised. I've been asked to come for transfer on Thursday at 11am...

IVF23 · 08/08/2023 11:00

@scaredynoob sorry to hear that. Hopefully the 6 will catch up and fertilise and the 1 that’s already fertilised with become a quality embryo 🤞🏻

I also feel quite disheartened. No other embryos made it to blastocyst stage other than the one transferred yesterday. Was really hoping for 1 other to go in the freezer 😔

@Helene2019 @scaredynoob @LavenderJoy @Lowo21 @IVF23 @ttcsolomumtobe Thank you all for your lovely messages yesterday. You're all such kind women. x

In some weird, sick, crazy mental turn of events, the lab rang me this morning to say they had frozen ANOTHER 4 MORE!!! They kept them going overnight, and 4 more reached blastocyst in the night, and are at Grade C. So we now have 5 in the freezer. 1 x 5B and 4 x 5C's.

This is why we can't lose hope as it just shows that IVF is absolutely flipping mental and can U turn at a moments notice. I can vouch for this more than anyone after I wrote myself off yesterday, and it's done a complete 360 back to me.

Good luck to @IVF23 @Ellenn @Helene2019 @LavenderJoy - I hope your little embabies are making themselves at home as they're going to be there for another 8 months!

Helene2019 · 08/08/2023 11:38

@scaredynoob Sorry to hear that. I've been where you are, in one of my previous cycles only 1 fertilised out of just a couple of eggs collected despite having 15 good sized follicles. I know it's disheartening, but there is one embryo and hopefully it will continue growing strong 🤞.

TT82 · 08/08/2023 12:08

@scaredynoob oh feel for you! But just remember you need one healthy embyro that will stay in for many months 🙏❤️

TT82 · 08/08/2023 12:10

@IVF23 just hope the one inside stays put for the next 9 months! Xx

Hopingforno2in2023 · 08/08/2023 12:49

I’m sorry to hear about your eggs scaredy, I really hope some of those 6 catch up.

Keeping everything crossed that your one on board is the one IVF

Great news GCS34, you have a lovely batch in the freezer now.

Just back from my CD7 scan. I have 8 follicles of which 6 are growing well and have potential so feeling pleased about that :) They really struggled to get blood from me and I ended up having a fainting fit so feeling a little fragile. I start Meriofert this evening and Cetrotide in the morning.

scaredynoob · 08/08/2023 13:11

Thanks @TT82 @Helene2019 @IVF23 ..

Have you heard instances of "successful delayed fertilisation".. I don't have much hopes though. And who knows if this one will survive till my transfer on Thursday. I won't even know the quality I guess.. the embryologist wasn't able to tell me the cause behind this disheartening result..

I feel a bit shit today, hopefully I bounce back soon 🙂
