Create Fertility - Experiences

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

Hi @Madzi31! Which protocol are you doing? The injections are fine once you get the hang of them. At least with high AMH you should hopefully get more eggs? I think it’s quite common to freeze all and give your body a break, but especially if OHSS is higher risk. Best of luck with your cycle! Lots of different experiences on here for any Qs 😊

Sunflower360 · 13/10/2023 12:15

@Madzi31 welcome and all the best with starting your cycle! Are you on mild or natural modified, is it a 3 cycle or single package?

Just an update from me all, had my egg collection and got 2 eggs this time. They said they would call today if there were none that were mature so hopefully it will be ok and there is at least one mature. Got my follow up booked in already for cycle 3, will see if I need a break between cycles or if I can go straight into it. Apparently no cycles in December so it's either November or January, will go with Dr's advice.

@HopefulElle how did your day 1 update go?

Thank you for the welcome @HopefulElle and @Sunflower360!

I'm doing the Mild IVF approach with just the one cycle. I've not heard great things from friends who were going thru NHS so opted for private which means we can only afford the one for now.

So I'm still getting used to all the jargon but I think its the antagonist protocol. I start the injections on day 2 of my period with a low dose of Gonal F (150 iu) and Buserelin as my trigger to minimise risk of OHSS.

I think I keep getting into my head with reading too much into it! High AMH may result in lots of eggs but not necessarily good quality. I've had to close all my tabs but this one just to get my head clear!

Fingers crossed for your results @Sunflower360

HopefulElle · 13/10/2023 13:55

That’s great @Sunflower360. hope you’re feeling Ok and taking it easy? Didn’t realise there were no December cycles but of course that makes sense!
I was in the toilets at London Euston when they called 🤦🏼‍♀️ obviously couldn’t hear a word so asked them to call me back in 5 mins and they didn’t. I did ask them yesterday, knowing I had a busy day today, to call my husband or email us if they couldn’t reach me, which they haven’t. Agh. Frustrating but really big work day today so if it was bad news I’d rather not have known until later today anyway tbh.

Sunflower360 · 13/10/2023 14:23

@HopefulElle that's annoying, hopefully you hear back soon! Perhaps try calling them back if you don't hear back...bit of a tip but I always find trying the call centre before 4pm better not sure what your experience has been

@Madzi31 that's good, hope the stimulation goes ok

Welcome @Madzi31!

Doxy21 · 13/10/2023 14:32

@Sunflower360 i haven’t heard anything about a follow up from create yet! Did you follow it up? So chances are they won’t let me do it if my period arrives around 20 Nov? Bigger, that’s me out til next year then. Husband isn’t here for collection or transfer if we try using my next cycle next week

Sunflower360 · 13/10/2023 14:37

@Doxy21 they set up the follow up straight after my egg collection. Regarding December they said they would not start any in December so I would think that it would be fine if you started in November. I think it's so egg collections don't run into Christmas week

Thanks @Sunflower360 - I’ve emailed them to ask!

HopefulElle · 13/10/2023 15:26

It fertilised! Fingers crossed for Sunday, but such a relief for now

Sunflower360 · 13/10/2023 15:28

That's good news @HopefulElle ! Yes fingers crossed for a good update on Sunday

Thank you @Doxy21

Amazing news @HopefulElle

Doxy21 · 13/10/2023 19:13

Yay @HopefulElle!

Sunflower360 · 14/10/2023 09:47

Just an update from me, both fertilised so will get a further update on day 3. They said they will monitor them until day 5 (if they get to that point) and decide if any are suitable for freezing. So it's still too early to say if there will be anything from this cycle, but will just see what happens

HopefulElle · 14/10/2023 12:04

Thanks everyone. @Sunflower360 that’s great that both fertilised! Hope you have a good update on Monday 🤞🏼

Doxy21 · 14/10/2023 15:06

That’s great @Sunflower360 - would they not freeze another at day 3?

Sunflower360 · 14/10/2023 15:21

@HopefulElle thanks @Doxy21 thanks. The embryologist advised they would see how far they can go as there is already a day 5 in the freezer. I'm kind of fine with that, may as well see if the embryo is any good outside the body for as long as possible

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 15/10/2023 09:44

Not good news from Day 3 update. They gave it a grading of 3/4. She did say that there’s not too much to worry about at this stage but I’m not at all reassured. I know the odds of getting to day 5 are slim anyway so now feels vanishingly unlikely. Had a good old cry this morning and now awaiting the inevitable on Tuesday’s call. This is all just so shit and unfair.

Sunflower360 · 15/10/2023 12:06

@HopefulElle I am really sorry to hear that update. Did they say how many cells it had and what the probabilities were for day 5?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 15/10/2023 12:57

@HopefulElle there’s still a chance - I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you

HopefulElle · 15/10/2023 14:41

@Sunflower360 thanks. For some reason they rang my husband rather than me and he didn’t ask as many questions as I would have. But 6 cells and some fragmentation. He wasn’t overly concerned based on the call, was surprised when I burst into tears, but I’ve read more than him and know this isn’t good at all.
@Doxy21 thanks. I’m not holding on to any hope at this point, but we’ll see.

Madzi31 · 15/10/2023 16:12

So sorry to hear @HopefulElle but like @Doxy21, fingers crossed for you!

HopefulElle · 15/10/2023 18:34

Thanks @Madzi31. Feeling very done with it all today.
@Sunflower360 good luck for tomorrow, hope you get a positive update

Sunflower360 · 15/10/2023 20:24

@HopefulElle sorry you feel that way and I hope you get a positive update on Tuesday. I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow's update tbh, it was such a slow start for me this cycle then I had to have my stims upped and was stimming for slightly longer so I am wondering what effect that may have had on the eggs. Only time will tell

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 16/10/2023 11:04

Update from me, 1 left pretty much as the other one only had 5 cells. They said they'll let both run until day 5 so will see what happens. Conscious things can go wrong between day 3 and 5 so not expecting much from the one that is ok at the moment
