Create Fertility - Experiences

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

Bit of a disappointing follow up consultation with Create today. The doctor said they have done everything possible and still no success.. he's going to provide a contact for me to get in touch with to get a hysteroscopy procedure done before the next FET. I mentioned prolactin levels again and asked why that wasn't checked prior to the second transfer, he then said if I want I can get it checked and basically get the GP to do it (the GP won't deal with anything infertility!) so I feel a bit lost at the moment, I was expecting a bit more direction from them.

Sunflower360 · 22/11/2023 20:42

@VSRCM that is really disappointing, who is the Dr that advised this to you? Odd that he advised you go to GP for Prolactin when they can do it, appreciate it costs but it's one of the much cheaper ones

Bad news from me, embryo arrested so nothing to show from this cycle. Going to take December off and think about what to do next in the new year.

Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 11:36

@GirlAgirlBboyC really sorry to hear that, were they able to give any information on why that happened?

@GirlAgirlBboyC Sorry to hear that, I had a IVF-free month back in Sept, it did wonders to my mental health.

@Sunflower360 Dr. Datta. The more I think about it, the more I feel they might have given up and didn't feel the need to spend any more time with me (during that consultation).

I am definitely considering seeking treatment in Prague. Not sure what to do with my frozen ones with Create at the moment..might transport it somewhere else. I'm not having them transfer it until I know what else can be done.

How many on this thread have been successful with Create??

Doxy21 · 23/11/2023 13:45

Sorry to hear that @GirlAgirlBboyC

Doxy21 · 23/11/2023 13:47

@VSRCM I don’t think anyone on this thread has been successful with create. But I imagine those with an easier ride don’t feel the need to look for support. I didn’t with my previous clinic. I did with create just because my options were try with create or stop trying (affordability issues - create was the cheapest place I could find and offered a payment plan).

gemso2020 · 23/11/2023 14:55

@VSRCM That sounds extremely frustrating, sorry you are going through that.

@GirlAgirlBboyC Sorry to hear that, I hope the break helps. I find the process so all-consuming, so to have a little time off can really do wonders.

I had another scan today, was fully expecting it to be cancelled, but doc said there is still one healthy-looking follicle. I was really disappointed at first, but now just trying to really reframe my mindset and considering that of course it just takes one good egg. Doc said with my AMH, one would be considered a success so will proceed for now.

Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 17:27

@VSRCM sounds like you've had a rubbish time of it. I do think with Create that they may not be great with patients that need more complex testing done as their quite straight forward with their protocols. Success wise in this thread I think a few of us are at various stages of the multi cycle packages so are yet to have transfers, but would be interesting to see if there are any positives... @Doxy21 are you about to start your 3rd cycle? @gemso2020 good to hear, what size is the follicle and when are you hoping to get to egg collection, are you multi package or will this be a transfer?

Update from me, started AF yesterday, and had a scan today to ensure good to go, so can proceed with stims tonight at 150 Gonal-F instead of the higher dose (just to see how things go). Also on Prednisolone too now.

Also I can see we're getting closer to the max posts so I'll set up a new thread when it's maxed, would be good to continue hearing how everyones journeys going, and to keep learning!

Yep starting stims tiday - 225 a day. They are letting me do mild! I feel so excited! I don’t start prednisolone until transfer I think?

Jennaqua · 23/11/2023 19:24

Male factor issue and create has been posting us all summer to conduct the SSR, till date! So sad!

Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 19:46

@Jennaqua sorry, are you new to the thread? Just wondering in case I missed your journey so far!

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 19:49

@Doxy21 that's good! Did you have the follicle numbers they wanted then for mild? I've started Prednisolone from today, from stimulation, was advised that was best rather than just before transfer so it can work effectively, are you on it for immunology reasons too?

OP posts:
Jennaqua · 23/11/2023 19:50

I am not new. I just didn't want to say that I am struggling mentally🥺Looking for a sperm donor bank now. Select donor within create, due to their unprofessional way of doing things; slot no longer available after weeks of making a choice and sending email. Partner had a heart attack so can no longer undergo SSR/general sedative. Tough luck. They wasted our 2023🤦‍♂️

Doxy21 · 23/11/2023 20:14

Sorry to hear that @Jennaqua

@Sunflower360 no I’m not sure why I’m on it - I assumed it was standard for fresh transfer here?

Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 20:17

@Jennaqua really sorry to hear that and sorry that you are struggling, this fertility journey is an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. Are you going to go to another clinic?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 20:20

@Doxy21 no I don't think it's standard, its a steroid that suppresses your immune system, usually for immunology issues (I have anti thyroid antibodies that could attack an embryo and prevent it from implanting or could increase miscarriages). May be worth asking about that perhaps and why they've put you on it

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 23/11/2023 20:22

Oh @Sunflower360 i do have thyroid disease - underactive

Jennaqua · 23/11/2023 20:24

Like they say, the grass is not greener on the other side. Unless you water your garden. They aim to get back to me tomorrow. But from the post I saw about treatment, they might stall me again till January. May becoming a mum, not stress me to dry up my follicles. 🤦‍♂️
I will see things to the latter; I will carry our babies. 🙏. Haven't even started the main journey; this is just administrative hurdle.🤦‍♂️
Wouldn't know if their clinical service is same as admin.

Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 20:29

@Doxy21 ah yes that would make sense. What are your thyroid levels? Are you on Levothyroxine?

@Jennaqua the admin side at Create is not great, you have to do a lot of triple checking and them some more on top. I end up cross checking, double checking and correcting where needed. Clinical side their monitoring is good and I've found them to be quite tailored

OP posts:
VSRCM · 23/11/2023 20:41

@Doxy21 @Sunflower360 when I had my consultation, he mentioned something about everything I’m on is standard practice (prednisolone, Clexane, baby aspirin) hence there’s nothing else he can put me on etc., although that said, what determines that would be from initial bloods, I know my sticky blood analysis was borderline and he said to be on those meds to be on the safer side.

@Jennaqua the clinical staff are definitely more competent; but they still don’t really talk to each other and we need the admin people to do their jobs before we can even get to the clinicians … I held on to a nurse who gets things done the first time round. Try this approach if you have a nurse contact.

Sunflower360 · 23/11/2023 20:46

@VSRCM that makes sense. I asked about aspirin but was advised as my sticky blood tests were ok that would not be necessary, so it does generally depend on the test results.

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 23/11/2023 20:58

@Sunflower360 yeah I’ve been on levothyroxine for about 7 years so my levels are controlled on the face of it but the underlying numbers are high when you do the extra tests.

Think this will hit max limit message wise now....if anyone was on this thread that has not been tagged, there is a part 2 version named the same if you wanted to join!
