Create Fertility - Experiences

1000 replies

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

@VSRCM thanks and I'm sorry about your bad news, wishing you luck for the next steps.

It's been an emotional rollercoaster, last week I was all over the place not knowing if I'd be cancelled again, this week I've been surprisingly chirpy and trying to keep positive but realistic.

Sunflower360 · 15/11/2023 16:06

@GirlAgirlBboyC good luck for your collection on Friday. Have they been able to tell you how many follicles you have? Also are you single cycle or multi package?

GirlAgirlBboyC · 15/11/2023 18:15

@Sunflower360 Definitely one lead but they're hoping for one or two more by then. Will just have to see. I'm one package at a time thanks to the insurance complications - though I'm still grateful as I don't think we'd be doing it without that

GirlAgirlBboyC · 17/11/2023 11:51

Collection done and on the way home. Only got one unfortunately so we'll have to see what happens. Glad I've got the weekend to chill. Don't remember any of it, wish I could have more sedation, best short sleep I've had in ages 😅

Doxy21 · 17/11/2023 15:23

Fingers crossed @GirlAgirlBboyC

Sunflower360 · 17/11/2023 16:57

@GirlAgirlBboyC glad the egg collection went ok and fingers crossed for your day 1 update tomorrow, sorry if you've said, are you having ICSI?

Agree with you about the sleep, it is really relaxing 😂

OP posts:
GirlAgirlBboyC · 18/11/2023 10:33

@Sunflower360 no ICSI this time, no male issues that we know of
Just had the call to say the egg fertilised so that's one step further!

Sunflower360 · 18/11/2023 19:35

@GirlAgirlBboyC that's good news! Hope it continues to develop well!

@GirlAgirlBboyC woop Woop!

VSRCM · 19/11/2023 13:48

Hope everything goes well @GirlAgirlBboyC

GirlAgirlBboyC · 20/11/2023 09:28

Well I was on my way in for day 3 transfer and I got a call to say it's not developed since yesterday. They're going to give it until day 5 in the lab but I'm not very hopeful now.

Sunflower360 · 20/11/2023 17:10

@GirlAgirlBboyC so sorry to hear that, were they able to tell you how many cells and grade it was? That should hopefully tell you how its doing

OP posts:
GirlAgirlBboyC · 20/11/2023 18:31

@Sunflower360 when they called yesterday it was grade 1 4 cells, which seemed like decent progress, but hasn't changed since. Will hear something tomorrow I assume

Doxy21 · 20/11/2023 22:07

I hope you have some positive news tomorrow @GirlAgirlBboyC fingers crossed for the day 5 transfer

VSRCM · 21/11/2023 06:32

Hope it all goes well @GirlAgirlBboyC

I was reading about the other people’s experience with natural modified cycles and slightly unsure why it’s encouraged. I understand less drugs, is it a lot cheaper compared to mild stim? I may of completely off the point but it feels like a waste of a cycle/time/money if there is only 1 egg per cycle.

My main question is - would it be worth asking if you can do mild stim if this cycle turns out unfavourably?

@VSRCM natural cycle is different to natural modified. Natural cycle is no drugs at all and basically is a timed egg collection with your natural ovulation, and tben they fertilise the egg outside the body, think it is more for those of an older age bracket and extremely low AMH who do not respond to stimulation.

Natural modified, in all honesty, is not too far off mild. Except you start stimulation on day 5 of your cycle rather than day 2. I started stimulation on day 6 of my cycle in the 1st Create round as my follicles were a bit slow (running theme with me) and stimulated for 6 days at 150 Gonal-F, I then had a trigger shot. They also allow increasing doses in natural modified, in my 2nd Create cycle I went up 225 Gonal-F. So aim is 1 ot 2 eggs but if they can get more they will, like I did on my first round (but that depends on each personal experience, the expectations are very much set as 1 or 2 eggs).

Thoughts are why stress the body or eggs if you're only likely to get 1-3 eggs. There is a school of thought there in my mind but then everyone is so different. Like I got 4 mature eggs in my first natural modified cycle, could I have got more with mild in that cycle? Too late now but that's why we're trying mild in this 3rd Create cycle...just waiting in AF. But then again I could end with less than in my natural modified cycles, you never know! When I did a max stims cycle with the NHS I had 2 eggs and no fertilisation so I'm on the fence with it all, will see what this mild IVF ends up like....bit of a science experiment in all honesty

@VSRCM it's a valid question and one I will be asking myself should this round fail. I was actually on mild stims protocol and my body wasn't responding appropriately, hence they went to natural modified. However I do broadly agree, if there's only ever going to be one egg is it really worth going through - as far as we know there's nothing else at play. Having said that we tried naturally quite a while and did so when I was younger too so you'd think if it was "just" egg quality there would have still been a chance of success some months.

gemso2020 · 21/11/2023 08:49

Morning all,

Good luck for your news today @GirlAgirlBboyC

I started stims again last week, had a scan yesterday but looks like I've barely responded this time, so will scan again Thursday but they said likely will be a cancelled cycle. They saw 4 follicles last week, and one collapsed yesterday, the other three were at the same stage. They have upped my stims so will see how it goes, but looking like two canceled in a row :/

I can't help but feel I'm more suited to natural modified rather than mild (AMH 1.1) so hopefully they will suggest that next.

Doxy21 · 21/11/2023 10:48

@gemso2020 that’s interesting - I have higher AMH than you and they won’t let me do mild unless there’s 6 or more follicles on an initial scan - do you have a lot of follicles?

gemso2020 · 21/11/2023 11:05

@Doxy21 Not many, I think I had 5 last time, and 4 this time. I was initially recommended natural modified and then when they sent me the invoice for the treatment it all said mild, I obviously questioned this and they said I misunderstood and they wanted to start on mild, see how I respond and then move to NM if necessary.

Doxy21 · 21/11/2023 12:08

@gemso2020 so frustrating there’s no consistency. Which clinic are you with?

GirlAgirlBboyC · 21/11/2023 13:01

@gemso2020 that's what happened to me, was on mild but didn't respond properly and hormone levels shot up, so they cancelled and I went to nat modified (which resulted in an egg collection at least). On paper I was suited to mild, AMH was OK relative to my age and 6-7 follicles. Guess you just don't know until you try

gemso2020 · 21/11/2023 15:57

@Doxy21 Yeah very strange, maybe some docs think it's worth a shot trying with the 3 cycle package. I'm with Manchester clinic.

@GirlAgirlBboyC Totally, such trial and error, very hard to know!

Sunflower360 · 21/11/2023 16:49

@gemso2020 sorry to hear that, its really hard when it gets cancelled, I'm waiting to know it I can restart this month or not after a cancelled cycle last month, I just want to get on with it

@Doxy21 are you hoping to do mild in your 3rd cycle?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 21/11/2023 17:44

@Sunflower360 i was hoping to do it with my second. The agreement for second was, and it’s same for 3rd, if on a day 1-3 scan there’s 6 or more follicles I can do mild. If 5 or less I can’t.
