Create Fertility - Experiences

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

@HopefulElle sorry that message was not clear...I was just fetting across that you want to be sure before using your egg collection as that will be a cycle used up

Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 11:28

@Doxy21 what size was the follicle? Maybe mild may be the way to go as it could stimulate the othet follicles, as you said

Oh no that is so difficult @HopefulElle i would hope the bloods will help give an indication somehow. When I had a suspected cyst they did an extra type of blood test. A p4 or something. Good luck!

Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 11:31

@Sunflower360 it took a few days for mine to begin to grow - sometimes between scans there was no growth and then would suddenly jump

Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 11:32

@Sunflower360 the follicle was 18mm at point of trigger I think. They are confident the trigger was at the right time. I think mild would just hopefully give more options - it did last time at my old clinic. I’m now freaking out about the create horror stories and wondering if the clinic is up to par but I know that’s not a fair assessment

Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 11:33

@HopefulElle that was a really good point by @Doxy21 see what the bloods say and make a decision from there, hopefully thr Drs can guide you a bit

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 11:34

@Doxy21 was there anything in your blood results that indicated there may not be an egg in the follicle, may be worth asking?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 11:53

@Sunflower360 no you can’t tell from
blood tests if a follicle will definitely have an egg - it’s luck of the draw I guess

HopefulElle · 08/09/2023 13:04

Sorry to hear about your round @Doxy21 - hopefully mild works better for you again (wasn’t an option for me). @Sunflower360 mine were slow to grow on first round, good that they’re similar sizes at this point at least so fingers crossed they get growing simultaneously.

I’ll see what they say when they call this afternoon, but 17mm seems far too big at this stage and I don’t want to waste a cycle. Really frustrating though, I’m not very patient at the best of times so with the emotions of IVF on top… it’s a nightmare!

Woodcottage1 · 08/09/2023 16:42

@Sunflower360 I’m on day 9 and still showing negative. Very much getting me down. Potentially it could of worked, just too early, but my successful round I showed positive day 7. The whole process is a nightmare isn’t it. @Doxy21 Sorry to hear about the lack of egg, that happened at my last collection.

Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 16:48

How did your call go @HopefulElle ? Mine is a see how stims go over the weekend, dose is the same

Sorry to hear that @Woodcottage1 as you say it is still early, I think after my chemical pregnancy I will highly unlikely test early if we get to transfer stage...was such a emotional rollercoaster in the space of 1 week. What day embryo was it and what was the grade that you had transferred?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 16:53

Hi @HopefulElle why wasn’t mild an option for you if you don’t mind me asking?

Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 16:54

Hi @Woodcottage1 thank you. Did you make any changes to make your next collection go better? Did you do natural modified and get 1 follicle and egg on the next collection or did you change protocols?

HopefulElle · 08/09/2023 17:20

Keeping fingers crossed for you both @Woodcottage1 and @Sunflower360. @Doxy21 I think because of the combination of my AFC (2-3) and AMH (0.4) they didn’t expect I’d be able to produce more than 1 per cycle anyway.
Had to pause work conference call to answer doctor, he said that my LH is too high for stims so they’re not sure if I’m about to ovulate an egg very early on some strange cycle, or if it’s a cyst, but either way, cancelling the cycle. Again. Rescan next period and see what they can see then.

Could’ve cried if I didn’t have to rejoin my work call! Of course I don’t want to waste they cycle so would rather know now, but I’m really starting to feel like it’s hopeless.

Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 17:26

Oh @HopefulElle so sorry to hear this, know what you mean about work- can be hard to juggle the two, but hopefully you have a supportive manager. Sounds like it was the right decision, for this cycle and if you're soon to ovulate hopefully you will not have to wait too long to start. Have you considered trying naturally tonight or tomorrow to catch the egg? That could be an idea perhaps.

Also with your AMH is that 0.4 ng or pmol?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 17:30

@HopefulElle noticed you said pmol in a previous message. Stay positive, you have an embryo in the freezer and looks like you do respond to stims, they will perhaps take some learnings from this for the next cycle and perhaps monitor you alot more closely

Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 17:35

Oh I’m so sorry @HopefulElle 😞 this is such an awful rollercoaster isn’t it?

HopefulElle · 08/09/2023 17:41

@Sunflower360 typically, for the first time In absolutely ages, my husband is away this weekend. Maybe I’ll jump him Sunday night! I haven’t told my manager, I just can’t face speaking to many people about it without getting upset, and I have pretty much full control over my work schedule to get to appointments etc anyway. Hopefully not too long to wait as you say.
@Doxy21 it really is, horrible. So sorry you’re all on the rollercoaster too but glad we have this thread to speak to others who know what it’s like!

Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 18:24

Sorry @Woodcottage1 did you do ICSI? I understand I won’t get a refund for the ivf cycle or the support package but I’m wondering if there would be a refund of the ICSI cost as that didn’t go ahead

Jx3303 · 08/09/2023 18:27

@Doxy21 @HopefulElle so sorry to read your updates. I have went through a cancelled cycle and also a previous NHS cycle where no eggs were collected. It's really hard to deal with the disappointment 😔 sending love x

Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 18:30

@Doxy21 in pretty sure anything you don't have done you have it reimbursed. For instance we paid for embryoscope but were advised ig wr grt no embryos we'd get the money back, so I would think the same would apply for ICSI

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 18:30

@HopefulElle completely agree about work, I've only a few people. It is hard to talk to with many people

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 08/09/2023 18:38

@Jx3303 I recall you said you have been doing mild, with low AMH? Sounds like you had good results?I'll see how this cycle goes then may consider mild as one of the cycles perhaps ... but will take each day as it comes before approaching the Dr with that

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 08/09/2023 19:02

Thanks @Sunflower360 - I would have like embryoscope if we get that far but it wasn’t mentioned.

The email I have says:

‘In the event that no eggs are collected or if no embryos are suitable for transfer/freezing, no refund will be issued.’

and the terms on the website says

‘Services are not refundable once performed and are otherwise subject to our terms relating to refunds and cancellations.’

‘In the event that no egg/eggs are collected at the egg collection, the cycle is considered completed and no refund will be issued.’

but on my paperwork cycle cost is separate to support and ICSI so I’m ready with my arguments if they dispute.

I think @VSRCM mentioned about the invoice (sorry if it wasn’t) and our documents say

‘We use an independent drug company, Fertility2u. If you require a private prescription for medication, the cost is £50 per prescription.’

but May vary between clinics.

sorry if this has posted twice!

Woodcottage1 · 08/09/2023 20:51

Hello @Doxy21 this was my last collection when I got no egg. Each collection was mild not natural. The difference perhaps is my age, I took my time with it.
