Hi all, started this yesterday on conception and got no responses, but think maybe I put it in the wrong place. Anyway, final attempt! Wondered if anyone would be interested in a thread for those preparing for a FET cycle in the coming couple of months.

I closed my first round of IVF yesterday, no fresh transfer as my body went a bit nuts despite mild protocol, so looking to prepare as best I can for a frostie transfer in June or July!

Big hugs to everyone going through/who has gone through IVF at whichever stage you're in, I found it super tough and frankly think we're all incredible. X

@10degreessunny hey, I’m doing ok thanks, bit more twitchy today! Natural cycle has been good although the pessaries are driving me mad. I’ve actually found them worse than the injections!
Exciting that you start next month and mid July isn’t too long now, sending lots of positive vibes your way!

10degreessunny · 01/07/2023 08:24

Hey @KG1244, pleased to hear you're doing okay. Thanks for for the positive vibes, I have decided this is my last weekend of 'fun' then will be on my healthiest behaviour for the rest of July!
@tara17x, again I'm so sorry that you had to go through the pain of a miscarriage. It's very good you got that break and they have managed to get you back on another cycle so soon! How did the scan go yesterday? X

10degreessunny · 01/07/2023 08:26

@HopefulHead how are you doing? X

HopefulHead · 01/07/2023 11:27

Hey @10degreessunny Im good thank you :)
Just got back from the hospital and been booked in for transfer next Friday 🥳

How are you?

10degreessunny · 04/07/2023 15:46

@HopefulHead oh that's exciting! I'm okay, just want to get started with the fet process now! X

Walkacrossthesand · 04/07/2023 18:34

Hello, can I ask a question of those who have had a successful FET? How long did you continue the progesterone pessaries, and on what advice? Thanks so much 🙏

Olivia199 · 04/07/2023 19:33

@Walkacrossthesand - With my Sept 21 baby I was on them until 10 weeks. My new regime is exactly the same. The rational behind it was that at this point the placenta had taken over.

Walkacrossthesand · 04/07/2023 19:59

@Olivia199 thanks for reply - I've seen anything between 8 & 12 weeks, 10 weeks seems a good compromise! Was yours a hormone regulated or natural cycle FET?

Olivia199 · 04/07/2023 20:59

@Walkacrossthesand - Mine was hormone. So I had progynova from CD3 and then utrogest from 5 days before transfer. Both then continued until the 10 week mark. I was soooo ready to be done with pesseries.. until the actual time came and then I felt quite anxious!
I've seen the same 8-12 weeks so felt okay going in the middle.

Walkacrossthesand · 05/07/2023 08:26

@Olivia199 thanks so much - very helpful!

tara17x · 05/07/2023 11:36

Hi everyone
I’m due to have my transfer on Tuesday but the last two scans are showing fluid - has anyone had experience of this?

10degreessunny · 06/07/2023 20:56

Hey @tara17x, sorry I really don't know anything about this but commenting to help bump it up X

I just had a team day at work and the question came up - 'oh do you want kids? You've moved to the suburbs, got a husband, it's all there on paper'.. I batted it off, but you do feel like saying, 'oh actually I'm infertile going through IVF, so yes, guess I would like kids.' Just feels horrible knowing people are adding up parts of your life like that, putting extra pressure..Sorry to rant!

Lyrabee · 07/07/2023 00:00

Hi @tara17x I've no experience of it but if you have too much fluid they usually make you wait a cycle before transfer so the fluid can dissipate.
Have they said they'll monitor?

ASGIRC · 07/07/2023 02:05

Hey! Just joining in!
Doing a FET this month, probably next week!
Doing natural cycle and had my day 9 ultrasound today, but while my endometrium is looking great (drs words) she could see no eggs developing just yet!
So Im going back on Monday for another ultrassound, and on Sunday Im having some bloods done to check me LH, progesterone and estradiol.

My vit D was low, so Im now on a big dosage of it (as well as taking a pre conceptional supplement!)

We shall see what next week brings!!!

10degreessunny · 12/07/2023 16:49

Hi everyone how are you doing @tara17x @HopefulHead have you had your transfers? @ASGIRC how have your tests gone?
I started FET treatment today so excited and nervous for the weeks ahead! @Olivia199 when do you start? X

Olivia199 · 12/07/2023 17:18

Hi @10degreessunny ! I've had my scan and all looks great so I'll be starting progesterone on Saturday for transfer next Thursday!

Exciting that you've started. Good luck!

tara17x · 12/07/2023 17:28

Hi @10degreessunny I had my transfer yesterday so fingers crossed this time round will stick! The clinic called me after the transfer to say my progesterone had dropped so had to up the meds to 4 Lubion and 4 Cyclogest a day. Hopefully that helps feeling nervous. Good luck with yours xx

HopefulHead · 12/07/2023 18:35

Heya :)
I had my transfer Friday - started testing early 🙈 negative so far but I’m only 5dp5dt so 🤞🏼🤞🏼

10degreessunny · 12/07/2023 18:39

Oh wow so exciting, it's all go go go! Everything crossed for you all xx
@tara17x so pleased you had your transfer. What did they say about the fluid situation? I keep mentioning fluid to my nurses since you mentioned it as I know we both have PCOS and it's more common.
@Olivia199 that's great for you, seems like it's going very smoothly.
@HopefulHead ohh 5 days seems very soon so I wouldn't get worried about that. What tests do you use? When is your OTD? X

ASGIRC · 12/07/2023 18:42

@10degreessunny my scans have have progressed! Currently waiting on blood work results, to see if I need to take ovritrelle or not!
Depending on the results, Ill start progesterone friday or saturday, and then the transfer will be wednesday or thursday!

tara17x · 12/07/2023 18:52

@10degreessunny I was told to get an intolerance test as they thought the fluid could be caused by an intolerance, so I did and it has come back that I am actually intolerant to a few things I have recently been adding to my diet; Brazil nuts, peas, yogurt. It’s actually been really insightful to find out what I’m intolerant to. They haven’t mentioned the fluid since xxx

HopefulHead · 12/07/2023 18:52

@10degreessunny I have been using the cheapy stick ones as I only have 2 FRER’s and can’t seem to get any from anywhere 😭 did use one of my FRER today though and stark white!

10degreessunny · 12/07/2023 22:56

@ASGIRC ah that's exciting, not long for you!
@tara17x, that's crazy, how much was an intolerance test? I'm curious about doing one myself.
@HopefulHead sorry what does FRER stand for? You really haven't given it much time so would try and just hold out on testing till otd (easier said than done!) Xx

10degreessunny · 15/07/2023 15:22

Hi everyone, hope you're all well.
Question, what pregnancy tests would you recommend using after FET? X

Olivia199 · 15/07/2023 19:13

Hey @10degreessunny !
I'd absolutely recommend the first response early result personally. It's the highest sensitivity. However if you're waiting for OTD to test then literally any, even the 3 strips for £1 in B&M!
