It's so weird on the supplements isn't it? This new doctor we spoke to last week told me to give it a rest after I listed everything I was taking! She seemed to be of the opinion that taking excess vitamins and minerals could stress out a healthy body.

It's just so bloody confusing. I never know what to do for the best.

@countrypunk neither do I to be honest! We might get the ones they suggested my husband take as a ‘who knows’ option and just see. It’s all so hard x

@LF82 really glad your consultation went well. It's good that they've decided to up meds and monitor them throughout. I hope it's made you feel a little better that he was positive. It's really difficult to accept, I know this from my own experience, but I think sometimes cycles / outcomes just don't go well and there isn't always a reason for it. Sadly biology just doesn't always do what we hope for. Do you know when you're scheduled to go again? Sending you ALL the best wishes for your next cycle xx

@Jx3303 I think what you say is wise - we want there to be a reason for everything, and sometimes it's just bad luck / our bodies not wanting to play ball. Catching the right egg and sperm is just a game of chance, with reduced odds in most of our cases!

All good my end thank you. Looking forward to scan next week so we can get the ball rolling again.

@LF82 It really is! I swing between wanting to do EVERYTHING the 'experts' to say, to wanting to do nothing at all and just see how the cards fall. Hurgh. I do also try to think of the positives of being childless/child free. It's quite a good coping mechanism for me. Xx

@Jx3303 Thank you, I am hoping to start on my next cycle - end of May. But I guess will depend on my body! This will be my third cycle so hopefully will get to actually have a transfer at the end of it but I guess that will depend on my body too! How are you? Xx

@countrypunk I am on that swing between the 2 options a lot too! Totally agree with you on trying to think of the positives - I did that a lot the last year when we were trying to conceive naturally and it did help a lot! Xx

I'm good thank you. Just wishing the next few weeks would hurry up, it's quite an anxious wait between test and early scan but I'm doing lots to try and stay calm and positive ☺️

Morning all- hope everyone is doing ok and enjoying the long weekend! Mine has been nice though another pregnancy in our friendship group announced which was as always a bit of a dagger to my heart. Not that they know what we are going through.

@Jx3303 I am glad you are keeping yourself busy before your first scan! It’s all such a waiting game isn’t - hopefully the weeks will fly!

@LF82 Another family friend announced their accidental pregnancy this weekend and I very ungraciously and unkindly thought 'Oh fuck off' 😬 (obviously I don't feel like that about this group - I want everyone here to get pregnant!!)

@Jx3303 Scan this week! I actually can't wait. I hope that doesn't mean they're going to find something bad.

It is an anxious wait between test and scan. Staying busy is definitely the way to go. I'm very excited for you ♥️

We wanted to do something positive so we've decided to have a civil partnership and we're going to book the register office tomorrow 🙂

@countrypunk thats lovely news! When are you hoping to be able to book? 🥂🍾

I am the same as you - delighted for anyone going through fertility issues but think unkind thoughts when it’s anyone else - especially when it’s number 2 or 3. I know it’s just because I want it to be me! Xx

@LF82 Thank you ♥️ September is the plan, if they have space. Not sure how far in advance these places get booked. We only want the small room so hopefully September's doable...

I feel the same, I was just saying this to my counsellor yesterday. Fertile people are still annoying and probably always will be 😂 I had a dream my friend was pregnant with her 4th child and I shouted at her "well aren't you so fertile" haha.

Back after a nice week away, all refreshed I have treatment consultation Thursday and then next cycle this IVF journey starts again

@countrypunk civil partnership in September sounds wonderful! Congratulations!

Update from me, we are trying to go ahead with our fet end of May now. I had my baseline scan on Friday and they said all looked good to start. Will just have to keep my fingers crossed for my lining!! AF due next week and then the worrying will start!

i did speak to a doctor about it and whether I need to do a hysteroscopy but he was of opinion that my lining may just be thinner in general. I have a low bmi and he said he sees this a lot. So this month I think if we can get to at least 6.5mm I will push to go ahead.

I am waiting for my next AF in a few weeks before we start again on round 3 of egg collection- hoping to do a transfer this round 🤞

all set to start next week when AF starts , just waiting for call on meds delivery

@LF82 @Crystal88 Yay! You're both a bit ahead of me - I won't be till June now.

Has anyone here had a sperm fragmentation test? I asked my doctor about it and she said it was pointless. I think I've read too many threads on here about people throwing the kitchen sink at trying to get pregnant and am worried we're not doing enough.

@countrypunk i haven’t heard of it I am afraid. Definitely not something the consultants mentioned to us. I definitely agree that sometimes reading things on here make you stress that we should be doing more! I think if your doc doesn’t recommend it then it’s probably not needed! As I keep saying/thinking this is such a hard, hard journey x
