Yep! Just waiting for AF to start and then I'm kicking off with three weeks of the pill, with a view to starting stims later this month. Cycle no. 1 and it's pretty scary!

Is this your first cycle too?

Frisbeee · 31/03/2023 13:58

Hi ladies, can I join please?

How are you all getting on so far?

I'm due to start my second cycle of IVF on approx 14 April, I can’t wait to get started now! We had our first cycle in February with a double embryo transfer on day 3 which was sadly unsuccessful

Can I join this thread chat lovely ladies? I’ll be starting either May 21st or June 21st, first cycle, long protocol and NERVOUS!

Frisbeee · 31/03/2023 17:23

@Emma6854 honestly the waiting’s the worst bit! I’m sure you’ll feel much better once you get started. Do you know when you’ll know if you can start in May or June?

BiscuitLover3678 · 31/03/2023 19:25

Hi everyone! How lovely to have a thread of people to talk to. 😊 I don’t actually know anyone going through it in real life! Are these all first babies? This is my second! Secondary infertility. I honestly did nothing special the first time! 🤷‍♀️ we’ve been trying around 18 months but a lot more cycles because I have short cycles.

Exciting stuff! Are you due any day?

This will be my very first cycle! I’ll be doing stims from day 2. Is the pill to regulate your cycle?

Hello! I’m sorry it wasn’t successful :( how did you find the process? Were you ok when you found out it hadn’t worked? I’m mostly worried about the emotional impact I think.

I think we will start at a similar time!

What do you mean by first protocol? Welcome!

Honestly I’m not entirely sure the difference but as I have endometriosis our consultant said she was putting me on a “long protocol” course - it’s four weeks of daily injections ranging between 1-3 injections a day. I’m not sure if this is normal or not!

Emma6854 · 31/03/2023 20:04

@Frisbeee so we’re waiting for a sperm retrieval surgery attempt and then depending on that outcome (very very low chance) or the sperm donor turnaround we will either start in May or June :) How are you feeling about starting in April?

Due to start the pill mid April just waiting for af now. 😬 I am so impatient!!
Trying for a second. I had my son via ICSI fresh cycle in 2020. Had a miscarriage at 12 weeks and then two failed FETs since, so I am really ready for it to work now!
It will be great to have some kindred spirits to go through it with!

I googled it after this! Apparently long protocol involves suppressing ovaries first so maybe is linked to endometriosis? Good luck with it all!

I hope for the best for you either way. How easy is the sperm donation process?

I feel excited! I think as it has taken so long to get to this stage. I think I will be nervous though when the medications arrive next week.

@BiscuitLover3678 he is 2.5! How about your son/daughter?
When are you due to start? Do you have to take the pill for a while too? X

Just over 3. No, I don’t for some reason! I’ve just been told to ring when my period starts and I start stims the next day. Maybe it’s short versus long protocol?

Hi all!

I’ve taken my last norethisterone tablets yesterday (irregular cycles so given norethisterone so that they could accurately time a bleed date) and had trial Embryo transfer to make sure catheter would go through my cervix okay. I should bleed on Mon/Tues and then start Meriofert and Gonal F from weds if all goes to plan!

It’s my first ivf cycle. Really excited to be finally taking some control of the situation after just over 3 years of trying to conceive with no luck at all!

Good luck to everybody, hope it goes well for you all!

FlapJackered · 01/04/2023 07:33

@BiscuitLover3678 I am short protocol but I think it's just the new clinic I am with likes to control the cycle completely rather than trusting that it is definitely a period and not a random bleed.
I didn't have it with my last cycle. It's frustrating as I would much rather not be waiting an extra month to start stimming!

FlapJackered · 01/04/2023 07:34

Good luck @pongom ! It's definitely feels positive to be doing ivf after the relentless ttc.

Frisbeee · 01/04/2023 10:44

The physical side I didn’t find too bad, I was a bit bloated and sore after egg collection but nowhere near as bad as I expected! The emotional side is hard and finding out it didn’t work was really tough but we felt much better as soon as we’d seen the consultant & had a new plan in place. Good luck, nice that we can all support each other:)

Frisbeee · 01/04/2023 10:46

@BiscuitLover3678 the above was in response to your question, sorry i haven’t got the hang of this yet!!

good to hear we’ll be cycle buddies :)

Oh wow best of luck with the surgery. Hope it goes well & you can get started quickly!

Hello everyone 👋 Could I join you? We will hopefully be starting our 1st cycle TTC no 2 towards the end of this month. Our daughter was an IVF baby too. It feels very odd being back where we were several years ago (same clinic). I've been feeling quite up and down about it but am looking forward to getting started. Wishing you all luck on your journeys.

NaomiNatNat · 02/04/2023 08:44

Hi @BiscuitLover3678 I start the pill today as AF came last night. FET is due in May.
@Emma6854 For me is the waiting around that got me and still does. I have endo too, I took buserilin daily and that apparently helps with endo.
