@BiscuitLover3678 in Greece was my 3rd try and I got pregnant for the first time but miscarried at 6 weeks so hoping this round is as successful and this time it sticks better!! I don't regret being in Greece one bit. My scans and bloods are all in the price so I don't have to worry about secret surprises on what I owe. I get to see my doctor every other day and he actually cares like if am overstimulated he will get me to wait he won't proceed just for rhe sake of being paid. I just feel they take more care and look at you as an individual. I also was asked to do bloods like for NK cells and thrombosis and mutations etc in the UK I was quoted something like 2k just for the 2 tests. In Greece I did everything like 20 tests for 350 euros. Its just too crazy in the UK all about money and not the experience and outcome!

Anyway I have many tips so anything you guys need please ask. Seriously food plays a major role as well and it's slightly different for whichever stage your at I.e if at egg collection you need to be eating around 60g of protein a day. Unless you try to do this you won't as you would be surprised how lil protein we be having. For example an egg has 8grams which is nothing! And for embryo you need to be having red meat but lean beef type not unhealthy pork. After embryo your not allowed raw fish and soft cheeses for example there's just so much!

Oh wow that sounds like a much better experience and I had no idea about the foods! This is the stuff I wish they told us! I’m so sorry about your miscarriage and feeling positive for you!

@CR7 That’s great you’re almost at transfer stage! How are you feeling? Are you doing a frozen transfer?

BiscuitLover3678 · 15/04/2023 12:48

I’m excited for everyone starting! Also starting stims now which is very exciting. I don’t get a day 1 scan funnily enough.

Does anyone know how you work out due dates with an ivf pregnancy? I’m a bit confused about it all.

It’s good to get started isn’t it, waiting is so tough!! Hope we all have lots of success!!

How are you feeling on the stimms? What have you been prescribed?

I think an IVF pregnancy is the same dating wise as a natural one so the date would be taken from the first day of your period.

CR7 · 15/04/2023 13:52

@Frisbeee yes frozen as we opted for pgta so has to be frozen x

@CR7 Great that you have some frozen & even better tested :) We didn’t end up with any spares from our last round which was tough

CR7 · 15/04/2023 22:19

@Frisbeee I did duostim last summer. sent seven embryos for testing. Three came back perfect. Transferred one which didn't work and "should" have. Did a mock cycle in feb with Hysteroscopy and endemetrio. Results came back that my implantation window is displaced by a whole day so that has now been added into my protocol for this transfer xx

@CR7 wow you’ve been through such a journey already. I think (or like to think!) that they learn more about about how our bodies react to the meds etc with each cycle as everyone is so different. Hopefully this means this is your successful cycle 🤞

CR7 · 16/04/2023 17:04

@Frisbeee you're so right! Each time I feel like we get nearer and nearer. Hopefully with these last two embryos we get a good result as my husband says this is the end of the road for him xx

Hello all, been a bit absent for a couple of weeks but have just caught up with the thread! Seems like my clinic has put me on a reeeally slow start. I'm on the pill from 1st April to 28th April, and norethisterone until May. I'm not due to start stims until mid-May, so I will be watching your journeys with anticipation and picking up any tips along the way 😂

Only just started stims and feel ok so far. Ovaleap. I wonder when I’ll start feeling something if anything. How are you?

@BiscuitLover3678 glad you’re feeling ok. Everyone is different so hopefully you’ll be lucky & stay symptom free! Do you have a follow up scan & bloods booked?

I'm back in the clinic on Wednesday morning for my next one. Currently on Gonal f but also adding meriofert from this evening and fyremadel from tomorrow morning. Just got bad headaches at the moment but expect to be a hormonal wreck within the next day or so!!

@BiscuitLover3678 Thank you! Just today really which is day 4 of stimms. I didn’t have headaches this bad on the last cycle so just the luck of the draw I think!

Hi everyone

@Vallef good luck for tomorrow, how exciting! Are you having a single or double transfer? Is it day 3 or 5 for you? Fingers crossed for you, it’ll be fine, it just feels like having a smear test!

Vallef · 19/04/2023 13:08

@Frisbeee thank you! Am having a double transfer again with day 5. It's my 4th go so know the process its just the waiting that's a killer. The first 2 times had no symptoms what so ever the 3rd time when it was successfully I had spotting and aches in my back but I miscarried at 6 weeks. Just feels like so much expectations this time!

Frisbeee · 19/04/2023 13:12

@Vallef ah the waiting is absolutely the worst bit isn’t it! Is this a fresh or frozen transfer? Sorry you’ve had to go through it so many times, it’s so tough isn’t it. Hopefully this is the one for you 🤞

I’m on my second IVF cycle after 3 unsuccessful IUI’s last year. Just had my day 6 stimms scan this morning and all seems to be going ok so far.

Vallef · 19/04/2023 13:25

@Frisbeee yep the waiting is a bugger I think it's actually the worst bit of the whole process because starting the cycle is so exciting..well after the 1st cycle anyway you kinda know what to expect and become more seasoned with each go. But that 2 week wait does not get any better with each cycle if anything bloody gets worse.

Sorry to hear about your experience last year but glad to hear your triying again. Not giving up is the most important thing for us all!! I've heard of women getting pregnant at cycle 9 so there's hope no matter how many cycles we do :) I did egg collection end of March but was overstimulated and they collected 32 eggs so was told to wait a cycle to calm my ovaries and rest. First time having quality AA eggs so am.hoping to God all goes well!!!

Are you preparing for egg collection?
