Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

@charja100 I'm sorry to hear this, I can only imagine how you feel and how frustrating it is to have to wait so long for an appointment. Please look after yourself

Flower356 · 27/07/2023 18:23

@VioletCookie luckily work is super busy and I've got a few nice plans for the weekend but yes it's very difficult to keep off of Google!

I've also found out my dad has cancer in the last week, so I really wanted to give my parents some good news! Trying to hold on to the last bit of positivity but it so hard isn't it.

Flowerlover010 · 27/07/2023 18:40

@charja100 so so gutted and sorry this one hasnt worked for you. Like @VioletCookie has mentioned, is there anything the clinic could do differently next time? Keep strong. Its so unfair. I really hope its 3rd time lucky for you

@Flower356 so sorry to hear about your dad. Its so hard to deal with fertility issues on top of other life events as well, why do we always get things thrown at us at once!

VioletCookie · 27/07/2023 20:06

@Flower356 that's terrible news, I'm so sorry to hear that. You've really been thrown a lot all at once! Vent as much as you need to xx

April623 · 27/07/2023 20:35

@charja100 So sorry to hear that confirmed for you. I hope you're doing ok and that's you can get on with the next one soon.

@Flower356 That's awful, sorry to hear that about your Dad. It's so hard juggling everything life throws at you in the middle of this. Be kind to yourself x

MRSLMF · 28/07/2023 07:12

@Flower356 keeping everything crossed for a good outcome for you 😘
@VioletCookie I'm so pleased your starting your frozen round, am I right in thinking it's pgt tested?
@charja100 I'm so sorry it didn't work
This is the hardest journey ever!
I'm 4dp5dt and stupidly tested of course it was negative 🤣 I'm a fool! Atleast the trigger is out my system though!

VioletCookie · 28/07/2023 08:36

@MRSLMF yes we're using a PGT-A blasto but I'm so flippin anxious this time! On our last egg collection we got 4 blasto and I miscarried 3. I'm assuming at least 2 of them must have been normal and we lost them still. So I'm terrified to have another transfer and either it doesn't work or we lose it again for no known reason! We're also using embryo glue, steroids and inhixa, so there's the new protocol and the unknown.

You're just like me, I always test at 4dp5dt and kick myself for doing it! At least we know it's super early! How are you? Probably too early for symptoms, but do you feel anything?

Happy Friday all 🥳 we have family staying from up North so a busy weekend to keep us occupied until Mondays scan! I told my boss we were starting treatment again and he's been really supportive, although he did say we need to recruit someone soon for when I go on mat leave... I get his concern but I'm not pregnant yet!

@Flowerlover010 how are you feeling, has the cramping continued?

CR7 · 28/07/2023 09:43

@VioletCookie on my last transfer which was successful, I also had inhixa and steroids added in as well as extra progesterone xx

VioletCookie · 28/07/2023 09:59

Thank you @CR7 that's encouraging 🥰 im having a progesterone blood test to see if I need Lubion. I had this test on the last transfer and progesterone was at 40 so didn't need it. I'm hoping it's a bit higher this time though!

Can I ask how many transfers you'd had before? I've been googling recurrent losses leading to succesful pregnancy to keep me feeling sane, but I'm not sure its working 😅

I hope you're OK and everything is going well!

MRSLMF · 28/07/2023 12:41

@VioletCookie ahh let's hope new protocol is just the trick for you, I cant imagine losses, just the BFN is so hard so to get a bfp and then result in loss just must feel so horrendous after the battle to get a bfp! I've everything crossed your new protocol helps!
My clinic uses embryo glue as standard and I've never had a BFP, they keep telling me there's nothing wrong with me or my husband.......they've not checked any of my bloods since 2019! I'm also wondering if to do the ERA/EMMA/ALICE tests and possible PGTA for our 3rd cycle

MRSLMF · 28/07/2023 12:43

P.s. all my symptoms are definitely progesterone related, bloating, sore boobs, had twinges and a little intermittent cramping and low back ache.
I've broken out in spots today which usually means period is imminent!

VioletCookie · 28/07/2023 13:28

@MRSLMF it sounds like you've been on this journey for quite a while. I can't believe they've not checked your bloods in so long! Have you found them to be a good clinic overall? I'd recommend the PGT-A, it's expensive but we're so glad we've done it. Means we can fret less about MC through abnormalities and I can just catastrophise about everything else instead 😅

Pretty sure 4DP is way too soon for a period, so this could be a good sign of hormones ramping up! Absolutely everything crossed for you and your long awaited BFP 🤞🏼 When is OTD?

MRSLMF · 28/07/2023 13:47

We delayed starting the first round of ivf due to covid in 2020 and then my husband was deployed with the army for 6 months in 2021 so only really got going in 2022! They said it wasn't necessary to recheck bloods but I think at follow up for 3rd round (hopefully we don't need 3rd round) I'm going to ask for repeat bloods etc.
Also considering just going private abroad I read so many positive things about abroad it just kind of gives me hope......my current clinic doesn't fill me with hope anymore!
OTD for me is 4th august so a week today! Don't these embryos know how impatient we are 🤣
Will this be your first time transferring a PGT tested embryo? I really hope it works for you!
Xxx

VioletCookie · 28/07/2023 16:19

@MRSLMF its definitely been a long winded process for you! Must have been difficult with hubby away for 6 months while waiting to begin IVF. Will you test again or try to wait for the 4th? I'm awful I test about 3 times a day and get frustrated so definitely don't recommend doing that! Patience is not my strong point 🤣 one week to go for you but OMG the longest week ever isnt it! Yes this will be out first PGT-A so I'm scared to feel hopeful because it may not stick at all! We've been fortunate to have 3 transfers and 3 BFPs but very unfortunate to have lost them all. I can't work out if we've been lucky or unlucky.. bit of both I guess.

I've just had some great news from work, my company are offering a counselling service and my director has signed me up to it. So they'll cover the cost of a few sessions and I can start next week! I'm really looking forward to it, can already feel some of the weight lifting! xx

girljulian · 28/07/2023 17:05

Oh @charja100 I'm so sorry to hear this.

MRSLMF · 28/07/2023 18:02

@VioletCookie it was so tough! We had just got married and moved house too when he left for 6 months! Felt like my entire life was on hold....I was so nieve back then though and I stupidly thought ivf would work 1st time 🤣oh how silly I was lol!
I suppose that's good in a way that you know they can implant at the least so with the new protocol and the tested emby this will be your time wuhoo!! I'm hopeful for you ❤️ that's amazing about the counselling! I'm considering doing this via my work but it's nhs so probably not as good!
I'm going to try hold out for 6dpt (sun) to test again!
Xxx

VioletCookie · 29/07/2023 07:26

@MRSLMF wow, a lot going on at once! Then throwing covid into the mix too and all the restrictions..! I really hope this is our time, I'm having such a wobble today. Need to get out of this constant loop of IVF and being sad 😩 I hate not being in control and wish I could make it better for all of us! Good luck for Sunday but it may also be too early... I will keep everything crossed for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼xx

Has anyone been really nauseous from the oestrogen tablets? I've been fine every time previously but this time round I feel so sick!

Flower356 · 29/07/2023 10:32

@MRSLMF got everything crossed that this your time! Sounds like you've really been through it.

@VioletCookie the counselling sounds great- and I'm sure it will help so much. Having somebody completely independent to a situation is always so helpful and as you say letting it out will just make you feel lighter I'm sure.

I hope everyone has a fab weekend!

charja100 · 29/07/2023 10:40

Morning everyone. Thanks for all your kind words. The journey can suck but I'm not giving up yet. Managed to get a consultation with our consultant clinical director for Tuesday 16th which I was initially upset was ages away but it's the day after we get back from holiday so not so bad.

@VioletCookie I'm going to do research and write lots of questions down. I'll add embryo glue to the list. We didn't test our embryos so it's hard to know if it was viable and as my frostie isn't tested I don't know if it's worth it. I'll definitely research and think about adding it though. I think if the next FET doesn't work I'll test the embryos on my next round and then look at glue etc for that.

@Flower356 oh I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending you lots of strength as I know I t's so hard to deal with extra life challenges when going through this journey.

AF arrived with a vengeance today. Hoping to get it out the way before holiday on Friday.

@charja100 I can only imagine how you feel, but try and enjoy your holiday as much as possible and I really hope its AF free for you!

MRSLMF · 30/07/2023 07:55

Guys help!!! I had a dream last night I had a positive test....so as soon as I woke I did a test expecting it to be negative I'm 6dp5dt I think its a faint positive! What do you think? Am I wishful thinking? Is it evap? Could it be a faulty test? I've never had a positive test before I'm going insane!

CR7 · 30/07/2023 08:17

It's looking good!! Did it come up in the time frame? xx

MRSLMF · 30/07/2023 08:21

Yeah came up before a full minute I'm so nervous that it's a faulty test or something, is it worth doing another today or waiting until tomorrow? What would you do?

CR7 · 30/07/2023 08:25

@MRSLMF personally I'd go out and buy a better one like a clear blue digital or first response if you can get one and do it tomorrow with FMU.

Be hopeful today xx

Flowerlover010 · 30/07/2023 08:31

@MRSLMF that looks like a super early positive to me. Id get a clear blue 6 days early one and do it tomorrow morning. Pee in a cup not on the stick and use a timer. Good luck!
