FET March 2023

Hi All,

Looking for others starting their FET cycle in March. This will be my 5th cycle (after 4 cycles last year). I did PGT-A testing this time and my embryos went down from 13 to 4. Hoping for success this time round and just wanted to go through the journey with others.

@laurapop

The clinic have just called and at 15dp5dt my results were 900

I'm shocked 🫣

MS2692 · 01/05/2023 13:09

@Jazsimone that’s so frustrating but you’ll know in less than 24 hours 🤞🏻xx

@laurapop I would try not to worry lovely (much easier said than done I know!) your number of 5000+ was really good and I’m sure your test on Saturday was still very high?? The main thing is that it’s still rising xxx

laurapop · 01/05/2023 14:17

@MS2692 they were 7900 on Saturday so yes still high and rising! Just a bit concerning they weren't totally happy with that result which is why they've moved my scan 😩.

But there's nothing I can do now except wait - just got to get through tomorrow and then it's scan day! I still feel very much pregnant, tired and nausea all day. You just never know what's going on do you x

laurapop · 01/05/2023 14:18

@Jazsimone thats great news ☺️. Very reassuring x

MS2692 · 01/05/2023 14:45

@laurapop yeah I thought that’s really good numbers, maybe they’re just being overly cautious - which’s really good would rather have an earlier scan and more cautious clinic 🤗 yes that’s exactly what’s given me the comfort that there’s nothing I can do now so no point constantly worrying! I even went to my usual weights gym class this morning as I thought got to get on can’t sit on the sofa worrying for another fortnight!

I hope the scan goes well lovely, please let us know how you get on! Xxxx

@Jazsimone that’s brilliant I bet you’re so pleased 🤗 have they given you a date for the scan? Xx

laurapop · 01/05/2023 15:08

@MS2692 yeah tbh I think they probably knew I would panic too and want more reassurance so just moved it. She said theres no point doing another blood test now, so Im glad I've got the scan.

Thanks I will let you know - hopefully it will go quickly til yours too. And your absolutely right.. life has to go on to some degree and it's better than just worrying every day xx

Jazsimone · 01/05/2023 16:36

@laurapop @MS2692

I am so pleased with the result!

The way she was wording it on the phone, it seemed like she was concerned and then said your numbers are 900 which is fantastic.... phewww

So my test is book for the 15th May the day after we get back from holiday! So lots to distract me from now till then.

Because I am so nauseous I have spoke. To my GP and he has prescribed me something for my
Sickness and has put in a request for my 12 week scan! Once I have had my scan at the clinic I will contact the midwife team

❤️

laurapop · 01/05/2023 17:15

Oh that's good you've got a holiday to look forward to. I'm going away next week too, cannot wait! Although I'm starting to feel rotten all the time now I don't know whether to get some medication too

Jazsimone · 01/05/2023 17:19

@laurapop

My GP said that if you have gone through IVF your more likely to have worse sickness...

Don't let yourself get too bad, get ahead of it! I'm not going to let sickness beat me this time round

🫠

laurapop · 01/05/2023 17:23

@Jazsimone oh really that's interesting!! I was awful last time and didn't end up getting anything. Will you get cyclizine? Xx

Jazsimone · 01/05/2023 17:28

@laurapop

No I have been given something stronger, it's a different medication from my first pregnancy! GP said there are risks with the one I was taking before im happy to try anything as long as im not sick x

MS2692 · 01/05/2023 18:06

@laurapop @Jazsimone I have been worrying over the last week as I haven’t felt any sickness and it seems (especially with IVF) that that’s really strange to not have that symptom xx

Jazsimone · 01/05/2023 18:13

@MS2692

I honestly wouldn't wish it upon yourself, your a lucky one! As long as your baby is growing there is no need for symptoms!

When I was pregnant with my son I didn't feel sick until week 6 and then the sickness didn't go until I gave birth. This time the nausea has come on sooner but it's a mixture is feeling sick and hunger.

laurapop · 01/05/2023 18:47

@MS2692 it's quite unlikely to get sickness before 6 weeks anyway I think so don't worry about that! My nausea has really ramped up the last few days I'm 6+3 now xx

graygoose · 02/05/2023 01:34

@MS2692 some ladies don’t get nausea, you may just be lucky! I know what it is to symptom spot though. I started feeling a bit queasy and out of sorts at 5 weeks but I suspect that was more anxiety. Full blown sickness wasn’t until 6 weeks and even then it’s just low level nausea all day and feeling like I’m hungover, I’ve never been sick.

Are you on steroids? That can mask some pregnancy symptoms. I’m on prednisolone which is sometimes used to treat to sickness in pregnancy so I figure it would be worse if I wasn’t on it.

MS2692 · 02/05/2023 20:19

@graygoose thank you, I’m just so anxious that it’s all going to go wrong before the scan next Friday I’m just overthinking everything 🤦🏼‍♀️ and time is going so slowly! How are you doing? Xx

graygoose · 03/05/2023 01:27

@MS2692 I’m hanging in there! Have an 8 week scan tomorrow. I think I already mentioned but I’m just getting a scan every 2 weeks until I can kick my anxiety.

I know scans can’t change anything and I know they actually cause more anxiety for some but I feel like I really need them. My friend who had recurrent MCs had two weekly scans in her first tri for her successful pregnancy and she said it helped her so I’m just going to do the same thing!

Best of luck for your scan, all my fingers crossed for you xx

Cookiecrush · 03/05/2023 05:45

Hey everyone!

@graygoose @MS2692 I am the same. My first trimester scan is due in three weeks and it's so long away! Also everyday I am not sure I am pregnant because I don't really feel very ill. I have been vomiting a bit but I'm like ... Is that just he drugs? I am lucky enough to already have a son through IVF and last time I was so sick it was awful. But this time I'm like ... Why am I not so ill?

It's very hard all the waiting and it's basically impossible not to be worried.

graygoose · 03/05/2023 06:40

@Cookiecrush the anxiety is the worst! When you feel awful you want it to stop and when you feel better you panic. I hear from other ladies who have had multiple pregnancies that you have to remind yourself every pregnancy and every baby is different and it might just be this baby doesn’t make you as sick as your previous pregnancy did. Who knows, maybe some old wives tales about sickness levels with different genders may be right!

For what it’s worth I don’t think the IVF drugs cause vomiting, at least in my case. I was on them for weeks and weeks and didn’t get nausea until week 5-6. Also apparently nausea is caused by the HCG rather than progesterone so the drugs shouldn’t cause it. However this is just from my own Googling!

It is so helpful to share our thoughts/paranoia with each other here though. I have close friends who are also pregnant but they didn’t go through IVF and while they sympathise they don’t have the same level of sheer anxiety that we all seem to. Being able to talk about this and not feel crazy is so useful, thanks to all of you ladies 💐

MS2692 · 03/05/2023 06:57

@graygoose me too I am SO thankful for this forum and you guys! I haven’t told anyone we’re doing IVF as after nearly 6yrs of TTC I am so sick of peoples unwarranted advice and pity that I would’ve gone mad if people knew and constantly asked questions, gossiped, etc which although it’s better in that respect it has made it a very lonely journey at times so thank you all for making it easier! Xxx

Cookiecrush · 03/05/2023 08:18

@graygoose @MS2692 Thank you so much for your comments, they have helped me sooo much:

Yes I have told very few people and basically only have one friend who has ever gone through it and I don't want to dump all of my thoughts on her either, she has already gone through it after all!

I didn't know that it was the HcG that causes the sickness, this makes me feel a lot better: And you are so right, every pregnancy is different:

Hope you both have a great day, I am already feeling a lot better xx

laurapop · 03/05/2023 13:14

Hi everyone

Had my scan today - it went well and we saw the heartbeat 😍

The only slightly worrying thing is it was measuring 5 days smaller than what it should be. So I'm 6+5 today and it was only 6+0. They said they are happy as long as its within 5 days, and said everything else looks great so nothing to worry about (but obviously I am worried!). They have booked me in for another scan in 2 weeks to check the progression before they sign me off - said its more for my reassurance really but you know when its just feels like bad news.

I'm so glad I didn't go for a scan at 6 weeks now as I probably wouldnt have seen anything and been in major panic mode!

Nothing I can do now but wait! I do think this embryo has been a bit behind at all stages tbh and judging from my tests/hcg levels I guessed it would be small. Hopefully in 2 weeks it has caught up xx

Jazsimone · 03/05/2023 15:22

@laurapop

I'm so happy for you lovely, try to keep positive!
A heartbeat means your baby is there.

The scan in 2 weeks will give you the reassurance you need.

I literally have all my appointments booked.

7 week scan -15th May
Midwife appt - 24th May
12 week scab - 23rd June

My GP has been really on it, impresses really ❤️

MS2692 · 03/05/2023 16:35

@laurapop I am SO happy for you lovely 🥳 that’s brilliant news! 🤗 I completely understand why you’d be worrying because we all worry about everything no matter if it’s good news! But I really don’t think you need to worry (always easier said than done!) from all my obsessive googling it’s very common for FET embryos to be a tad behind but they do catch up! The main thing (from what I’ve read) is that you saw a heartbeat so that’s the huge positive news to take away from today 🤗🤗 now you can go away next week feeling positive and enjoy yourself! Xx

@Jazsimone oh my gosh that’s so organised and exciting to have all the dates booked!! All I have booked is a 7 week scan on 12th May (which’s taking forever!) I assume if (🤞🏻) all is well at that scan they may pass me on to antenatal I’m not sure xx

laurapop · 03/05/2023 17:40

@Jazsimone @MS2692 thanks so much!

I feel a little bit more positive now - and my daughter did measure a bit small to begin with too, and she was 9 lb 1 🤣

A heart beat is so reassuring and I need to relax and take each day as it comes xx
