Hi All,

Looking for others starting their FET cycle in March. This will be my 5th cycle (after 4 cycles last year). I did PGT-A testing this time and my embryos went down from 13 to 4. Hoping for success this time round and just wanted to go through the journey with others.

@MS2692 welcome! Our clinic does a scan the week before and as long as it's 7 or over they don't measure again. Mine was actually borderline this time, they took 3 measurements and one was 7 but the other 2 were lower. I was a bit concerned but the consultant didn't seem worried at all. Hope that helps!

laurapop · 09/04/2023 14:05

@MS2692 oh also our clinic do a progesterone check the day before transfer, but they never used to, so I guess this must vary! Xx

MS2692 · 09/04/2023 14:24

@laurapop thank you so much that’s really helpful! Thanks everyone that’s replied it’s so reassuring and helpful to speak with people who know exactly what you’re going through and how important even the smallest parts seem 🤗🤗

@MS2692

Hey all... happy Easter 🐣

My lining was 11.2 a week before transfer and i got a BFN.
Sometimes the embryos are just not meant to be.
We are going for another round this month. My lining is 12.4 and my transfer is on Friday.

I always have a progesterone blood test morning of the transfer.

This month they have upped my dose of cyclogest to 4x pessaries a day from today, and then after my blood test if my levels are still low I will have an injection every other day

❤️

laurapop · 09/04/2023 21:57

@Jazsimone hi! That's great news you're having your transfer so soon! Good luck ☺️

I'm SO bloated girls.. I actually look bigger than I did when I was 3 months pregnant. Is that the progesterone working it's lovely magic? Has anyone else had this too? Xx

MS2692 · 09/04/2023 22:28

@laurapop I am so bloated and I swear I’m retaining water weight like I did after EC xx

Rococ · 09/04/2023 23:14

Hope it is OK to join everyone.
Had fet on Thursday and going out of my mind during this 2 week wait. Every day seems like a month, official test date wed 19th. Previously had 2 failed iui, failed ivf, 3 failed fet, chemical pregnancy after fresh ivf and last fet successful and I now have a beautiful 8 month old daughter. I can't remember symptoms from previous 2 week waits as I have blanked them all out to protect myself!! Hoping everyone here gets their BFP this month and surviving this hard process.
Thank you

Zus · 10/04/2023 06:15

@Jazsimone Good luck for Friday Hun, hope all goes well 🥰

@MS2692 @laurapop I'm also so bloated! I feel like a 3 months old pregnant lady haha 🤣

@Rococ Welcome to the ivf boat 🥰 After all the struggle, congratulations for your best gift, your 8 months old baby. I also had worse journey, I have 15 months old baby. This is my last embryo and today is my test date! It's BFP 🥰 I did test on day 7 lol 🤣 I don't have the will power to wait but testing later avoid all the stress and confusion.

All the best everyone x lots of baby dust to all

Jazsimone · 10/04/2023 09:37

Thank you all...

The anxiety has started to set in. But trying to stay positive and keeping myself busy.

✌🏽

NorthernDuckling · 10/04/2023 09:57

Can I join too? I had a FET on Thursday, currently 4dpt and need distracting 🤣. This is the 3rd transfer from my first cycle. I had a failed fresh in Nov, and a failed FET in Jan. Following the last failure, I had immune tests done and have tested positive for APS antibodies so on heparin this time and boy does it sting!
I have one more frostie, so if this one fails I want to get the ERA/EMMA/ALICE tests done before we use it.
I haven’t had any cramping or bleeding but I have had quite a bit of discharge - has anyone else had this?

Wren123 · 10/04/2023 10:56

@laurapop I've been so so bloated! I feel like an egg! It will definitely be the progesterone.

@MS2692 Welcome! My clinic just want lining to be over 7 - they don't worry about how much over it is. Also, my previous FET in November, I had a lining of 13.5 the week before(!) and it failed. So I wouldn't worry too much - as long as it is over the minimum, you should be grand.

@NorthernDuckling Welcome :) Congrats on your FET. Hope you're feeling ok. I had an FET on the 31st of March, but had a failed on in November. I'm wondering what my next steps would be if this one fails - what are the ERA/EMMA/ALICE tests?

I do have discharge, but I'm taking Crinone and utrogestan vaginally, so think it's just due to that.

laurapop · 10/04/2023 11:03

@NorthernDuckling hi! I had my transfer on Wednesday. Time is moving so slow. When are you going to test?

Yes I've got quite a lot of discharge too! Feeling a bit crampy last night and this morning and have the feeling like my period is coming. How are you feeling? Did you get any symptoms on your other cycles? Xx

NorthernDuckling · 10/04/2023 11:30

@Wren123 they are tests for repeat implantation failure, usually you do them after 3 failed cycles but my clinic have said I can do them after 3 failed transfers because there is no reason for my transfers to fail, I’m 35, good BMI, high quality blasts. I pushed for the blood tests after 2 failures because I didn’t want to waste my 3rd embryo and be down to the last one. Glad I did because 2 of the tests came bank positive for clotting disorder (although cost £1k 🫣 it is cheaper than another round).

@laurapop OTD is 19/4 but will probably test 18/4 because it is my day off. I don’t feel like I have any symptoms and I haven’t had any symptoms before. The fresh transfer I convinced myself I did but in hindsight it was just the tail end of stimulation and the progesterone. I’m feeling pretty negative about the whole thing, I’m fairly certain it hasn’t worked again.

Wren123 · 10/04/2023 11:38

@NorthernDuckling Thanks for that - is useful to know there are these tests available. I'm pretty sure this one hasn't worked. So I'm trying to think about next steps so I'm not blindsided. My embryos are PGD and PGS tested and I'm already on Inhixia injections (Heparin). I've also had a 3DSIS scan and endometrial scratch, so I'm not sure what else we can throw at the next one. Wondering whether to transfer 2 for the next one....

NorthernDuckling · 10/04/2023 11:47

@Wren123 My clinic have said that there isn’t much evidence for other tests after these, we haven’t had our embryos tested but personally I think it is implantation rather than the embryos as in 5 years we’ve never had a positive test and if it was an embryo issue we would probably have had a positive at some stage - unless we only make bad ones. DH also has clotting disorder (has had DVT 3 times) and I have read that this can impact on implantation as it can affect the embryo but there isn’t much research into it. The treatment is still heparin so hopefully we have it covered.
I am struggling with not knowing the answer, I’m a facts person and it’s driving me crazy. I’m not sure if we will do another round which is why I’m keen to do the tests now, if all 4 transfer fail it is a lot to manage and I’m not sure how id cope with another round.

Wren123 · 10/04/2023 12:02

@NorthernDuckling I'm really sorry to hear that. 5 years is a long old slog to be on the IVF train. It's a total mystery and mind f**k a lot of the time. I really hope this next one works out for you. Will keep my fingers crossed.

NorthernDuckling · 10/04/2023 13:50

@Wren123 we haven’t been doing ivf for 5 years, only did our first round last year. We went to the doctor in June 2020 after 3 years (didn’t want to believe it to start with), and spent almost 2 years faffing around, had to get my vitamin d right before the gp would refer me which took 6 months then I had a polyp that needed removing (2 operations).

MS2692 · 11/04/2023 07:48

@NorthernDuckling this sounds so similar to my situation! We have been TTC for 5 years and never once in all 5 years had a BFP, I had all the tests done and it showed I have mild PCOS but doctor was still shocked not got pregnant in such a long time as it’s not that bad my periods are regular and I do ovulate and I was on CLOMID for 6 months but still not one bfn! Started IVF June last year - EC went fine, ICSI went well we have good embryos and have FET (fresh was delayed due to OHSS concern) today but I just fear it’s not going to implant because exactly like you’ve said, how have we not had one BFN! Feel bad to be so negative on day of FET but can’t help after 5yrs of constant unexplained disappointment and BFNs why this would work

laurapop · 11/04/2023 10:36

@NorthernDuckling @MS2692 sorry you've both been trying for so long! It doesn't help that so much about infertility is unexplained. I think IVF is still just a lottery even when everything appears perfect in that round.. its very unfair :(

Maybe we are also just programmed to be negative after so much disappointment. I'm feeling extremely negative today - just don't feel like its worked at all but i think I'm protecting myself from getting any hope after our last failed FET.

@wren how are you feeling?

@Rainbowpeach how is everything going? how many more days til you're scan?

laurapop · 11/04/2023 10:40

@Rococ Hi! I missed your message the other day but what a journey you have been on! So great your last round worked and that you are trying again. I agree time is going extremely slow, but Easter definitely helped. I'm going to test on Friday 😬. Part of me can't wait to find out but part of me doesn't wan't to know. Its quite nice being in this limbo stage of potentially being pregnant.

MS2692 · 11/04/2023 14:39

Hi everyone!

I had my FET this afternoon but I’m so annoyed because I woke up at 6am this morning with a streaming nose and haven’t stopped sneezing 😩 they went ahead with the transfer but now I’m so worried it’s doomed already because I haven’t stopped sneezing since the transfer this afternoon 😔😔

Already dreading the TWW 😬

Jazsimone · 11/04/2023 14:58

@MS2692

Hey ... sending you all the positive vibes ✌🏽

The stuffy nose could just be your high progesterone levels.

I have had sinus issues since starting this cycle. But it's common.

Lots of rest...

❤️

MS2692 · 11/04/2023 15:07

@Jazsimone thank you that’s reassuring ❤️ I’m just panicking about everything but do know deep down nothing can change the outcome now x

Rainbowpeach · 11/04/2023 15:47

@laurapop thanks for checking in. I had my scan today and there was a heartbeat! So I’m very happy about that, I have never had a heart beat so was very emotional.

I get the negative feeling, I had that all till the scan, I walked into the room and burst into tears as I was already convinced it wasn’t going well cause clearly I was bleeding and it’s never worked before so why now?! But there was a heartbeat. So just want to encourage you that it’s possible for a light at the end of the dark tunnel. When is your OTD?

@laurapop Hey, I'm feeling super negative. The past few days have been really bad. I think I'm going to do an FRER tomorrow morning - I just need to know at this point. I'm pretty certain that if it shows up as a negative on an FRER 12dp5dt then it's definitely a negative outcome. I'm dreading knowing, but kind of at the point where I just want to plan for the next transfer, unfortunately. I'll be seeing friends tomorrow evening, so at least I will be able to console myself with wine. Hope you're feeling ok and holding up! x
