Hi All,

Looking for others starting their FET cycle in March. This will be my 5th cycle (after 4 cycles last year). I did PGT-A testing this time and my embryos went down from 13 to 4. Hoping for success this time round and just wanted to go through the journey with others.

@Wren123 my husband is always the same! But I have to say, if it's negative you will probably test the next day and the next day anyway as you'll think what if it's too early. Obviously it's just great news if it's positive and the waiting is over!

It may show up on a first response after 7 days though 🤷🏼‍♀️. But obviously some do implant later. It's a rollercoaster isn't it

pillerpink · 07/04/2023 15:55

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I can’t get though to my clinic today but I’m stopping meds as I don’t think I need them now?

@Wren123 I'm sorry to hear you had a failed pgta FET. Do you have any advice on tests etc before my next FET ad I have another pgta tested embryo. Is there a reason why pgta fails?

Wren123 · 07/04/2023 18:50

@pillerpink So my consultant just said sometimes it doesnt work and they dont know why. Even with Pgta tested embryos the success rate is still only 60% per transfer. I had a 3Dsis scan to check that there was nothing in the womb lining that might impact implantation. They also offered me a hysteroscopy but it was way more expensive so we went with 3dsis. Nothing showed up. Then I also had an endometrial scratch this time to help with implantation. So we will see what happens this time. Sorry again to hear about your result - its so hard after so much effort and time.

Wren123 · 07/04/2023 19:02

@laurapop This is true - ill drive myself mad either way. Just need to work out which is more tolerable for me 😂

Rainbowpeach · 07/04/2023 19:46

Is anyone else getting any random spotting? Feeling quite anxious as I am spotting again today :(

Thank you @Wren123 and I really hope you get your bfp 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I appreciate you sharing your experience with me.

If anyone has any tips how to move on from a failed cycle, it would be much appreciated xxx

laurapop · 07/04/2023 22:01

@pillerpink all I can say from my experience last time is be sad for as long as you need to be! I tried to keep it all in at work a few days later and ended up having a meltdown and going home!

You will feel so much better soon enough and you will get hope to try again ❤️.

Book something that you wouldn't be able to do if you were pregnant or on all the medication, try and do nice things as a couple.

Ultimately I know it's a horrible situation but you will get there. Wishing you all the luck for the future xx

graygoose · 08/04/2023 01:25

@Rainbowpeach I’ve had random brown spotting and tried to stay calm about it. I think spotting is ok but if it’s very heavy or accompanied by awful cramping (like as bad as AF) then you should definitely call your doc.

Rainbowpeach · 08/04/2023 09:20

@graygoose thanks for sharing. I had pink spotting yesterday, my doctor said nothing can be done so just have to have till the scan. Just patiently waiting now, trying to stay calm

@pillerpink yes I agree with @laurapop from my experience, I did things I wouldn’t be able to do if I was pregnant like a spa weekend with the sauna, hot tub etc, I also ordered my favourite naughty meal with absolutely no guilt. I took time out to just be sad and also time out to think about my next move. It’s okay to take time and just reflect, I also had a number of therapy sessions. But most of all, I made sure I didn’t cut OH out of my feelings as he is also grieving and sometimes we forget they feel the hurt as well cause they are consoling us and trying to be strong for us. Also I didn’t force myself to attend social events if I wasn’t up for them, just be kind to yourself during this period 💞

@pillerpink Another thing I did before the next transfer was book in an accupuncture session just before. There were quite a few places around my clinic. Often accupuncturists will partner with ferility clinics. There's research showing accupuncture just before a transfer can increase success rates (assuming it's something to do with calming your nerves before hand). I found it really helpful - i went in sceptical but came out feeling calm and comforted, and the feeling lasted all day. I agree with everything @laurapop and @Rainbowpeach said above. I also found exercising, particularly outside, made me feel so much better. But I think the most important thing is to just listen to your body and feelings and do whatever you feel like doing to get you through. Take care

Florescentadolescent2510 · 08/04/2023 12:09

I had my FET transfer on Thursday. It is now Saturday. Im watching my body like a hawk for any signs but all pms, pregnancy and hormone meds symptoms are the same. 😖

Florescentadolescent2510 · 08/04/2023 12:15

@Sj2505 your journey seems very similar to my own. Egg collection at beginning of March and due to a high number of eggs retrieved they were concerned with OHSS. i think i ended up getting it. The pressure in my pelvis and lower back gave it away. Anyway the 1st day of my next cycle i was put onto progynova and when the lining reached 8.1mm it was time to add it the peseries. I had my FET transfer in thursday 6th april and its now saturday 8th. Im now still on both meds with an additional lubion injection once a day. Dont know how im going to cope until the 21st when iv been advised to test! Xxx

laurapop · 08/04/2023 15:34

@Florescentadolescent2510 I had my transfer on Wednesday so only 1 day ahead of you! The 21st does seem like ages away!! I'm going to test on the 14th I think which will be 9 days post transfer.

Fingers crossed for both of us!

How many people are still waiting to test now?

Florescentadolescent2510 · 08/04/2023 18:04

@laurapop can i ask. Are you experiencing any symptoms? I had a headache this morning and slight slight cramping tonight. I hate that meds, pms and pregnancy have the same symptoms its driving me mad!

laurapop · 08/04/2023 18:47

@Florescentadolescent2510 tbh I'm not having many symptoms no. I did have a headache the other day and slightly sore boobs. My last cycle which failed I felt like I had loads of symptoms (it was a chemical so perhaps I did have symptoms then they went away).

My cycle that was successful a few years ago I had no symptoms apart from feeling like my period was coming!

So yeah like you say it's so hard to know xx

pillerpink · 08/04/2023 19:30

Thank you @Wren123 @Rainbowpeach @laurapop for your kind words and advice. I’ve been teary all day. I’m sure it’ll pass. I’m struggling to see how it’ll work next time round but I guess that’s normal. Can I ask what day you ladies did you transfer? Mine was day 23 and I’m wondering if that was too late? Xx

Zus · 08/04/2023 19:34

@pillerpink I'm so sorry Hun, I know it must be hard. Whatever I say now won't heal everything but please try to spend good time with your close ones. You will get there! I'm sure about it! Have faith and it will happen for sure.

laurapop · 08/04/2023 21:28

@pillerpink mine has always been day 17 I think. In a medicated FET I'm actually not sure it makes much difference? My embryo was a day 6 this time and was transferred at the same time as in my last cycle. But it did make me wonder should it have been a day sooner? Xx

Wren123 · 09/04/2023 08:57

@pillerpink Mine was transferred on day 20, but ai agree with @laurapop - I think it probably inly makes a difference if its a natural cycle transfer. Hope you can have a debrief with your consultant soon. Take care x

MS2692 · 09/04/2023 09:28

Hi all! I hope it’s ok to join!

Bit of background - TTC for over 5 years not once had a BFP, I have mild PCOS and husband has reduced motility. Started IVF in June 2022 finally had EC in Jan 2023 but due to OHSS concerns had a freeze all and now have FET booked for Tuesday 11th!

I have been googling everything and I’m concerned because my lining scan on Thursday only measured at 7.9mm and most people with successful transfers have a lining 10mm+?

Also have read so much about progesterone, I haven’t had any tests for my progesterone levels and they aren’t carrying any progesterone level tests out before or after transfer I’m on x2 Crinone pessaries daily but from reading lots of forums most people are on far more than this?

Thank you x

Zus · 09/04/2023 11:24

@MS2692 Hi, welcome to the IVF boat!

Wish you all the best on Tuesday 11th. I had 3 FET transfers (1 in 2020 lost my son in 2nd trimester, 2nd FET in 2021 and I have a 15 months old baby girl and this is my last embry -BFP). I never had a blood test to check progesterone level before or after transfer. For both of my transfer I was put on utergentrone progesterone passaries 3 times a day. This time is different as they don't have that progesterone in stock so I'm currently using cyclogest passaries 2 times a day.

Hope this helps x

MS2692 · 09/04/2023 12:04

@Zus I’m so sorry to hear about your son! BFP is brilliant so happy for you wishing you a safe & healthy pregnancy ☺️

Thank you that’s put my mind at ease! Xx

Bookiebooboo · 09/04/2023 12:51

Hi @MS2692 hope you are well , I am the same as you with my lining it was too thin last month for my transfer to happen so it got cancelled 😞 I am on more meds this time etc lining scan next week so fingers crossed it will be ok but my clinic have said anything over 7 is ideal for implantation and not to worry too much so I hope this gives you some comfort xx

MS2692 · 09/04/2023 12:58

@Bookiebooboo thank you so much for your reply that’s very comforting, they didn’t seem concerned on Thursday I just worry that it won’t have improved by Tuesday and by then it’s too late but will just have to wait and see! Thank you xx
