@laurapop I’m 4dp5dt, I’ve been having cramps. Sometimes on one side, sometimes on the other side. Some are just like a dull ache, like just before a period before it starts properly. It woke me up this morning. I’ve had cramps since before the transfer though, I’m putting it down to the progesterone.

@Lauralozzle ah see I didn't have any cramps before transfer - unless I'm just super aware now. Yeah that's what it is, the feeling right before your period starts. I'm sure I had that last time too.

Sorry if I've already asked but when are you testing?

@laurapop @Lauralozzle I had the feeling like me period was about to start! And quite a bit of cramping. So hard to know what's the progesterone and what's possible implantation/pregnancy. Messes with your mind.

I got 3+ on a clear blue digital this morning and I'm 5+1 so that feels encouraging 🙂

@laurapop I’m going to test on Saturday. That will be 7dp5dt and I’m hoping trigger will be gone by then as I triggered on Sat 28th Jan. also the day I’d expect spotting before my period starts, usually get a bit of pink discharge and then next day full flow so… I’m thinking it’d show by then.

@countrypunk It massively messes with your mind. I keep telling myself it’s progesterone so I don’t get my hopes up lol.

My boobs are less sore today, so, hope is dwindling.

@Lauralozzle ah okay yes I'm sure the trigger will be gone by then. I think someone said 10 days after it's gone?

My boobs aren't sore at all really, I keep checking but they are okay 😂.

It messes with your head so much doesn't it - I don't know why I'm even googling stuff because it won't affect the outcome!

I'm testing on Sunday but really tempted to so Saturday instead 😬. I'd be 8DPT then

@laurapop I have tests arriving Friday, I know I’ll not be able to hold out until the Sunday lol! You’re stronger than me. I’d rather know to expect my period, rather than be disappointed that it arrives If you know what I mean. If I test negative of the Saturday, I won’t be surprised if I start spotting that evening. My official test date is the 17th. I’m not waiting for that as my period would be over by that point!

@Lauralozzle Tbh it's not me that's strong, it's my husband 😂. We picked a date and decided to stick to it just cause I know I'd be obsessively testing otherwise. I do get why people do it quite early but sometimes I guess you can get false negatives and I don't want to second guess it. I'm sure by 7dpt though it would be okay.

I thought my period wouldn't come for as long as I'm taking the progesterone? Are you on that too? Sunday would be the day my period is due but I don't think it would arrive either way

I promised myself I wouldn’t test early but that soon changed haha. I’m only 4dp3dt so its really early still and it was negative of course. But at least i know the trigger is out of my system so hopefully if i do get a positive its real!
every step of the process is just extremely stressful and emotionally challenging. I will be frantically testing now every day haha

Hello everyone

I am new here - I have no clue if I am even doing this right - am I in the right thread?!

I had my 5 day fresh transfer on 31st Jan, so now 8dp5dt. I have awful backache since 2dp5dt (!?), God awful night sweats (I always have this 2 days before period due) but has been 4 nights in a row where each night I have changed my pjs twice!!), rumbling in my womb (don't know how to explain that haha but I always get it as a pre - period symptom) and I have been spotting since 4dp5dt. Again, pre period I spot 2 days and then it comes on

I also have a short luteal phase usually (10/11 days)

This is my 2nd fresh round, 1st only had 1 day 5 embryo, nothing to freeze (despite getting 21 eggs)

Anyway, last 2 days I have tested and has been as big of a BFN as possible

Today - Jesus bloody christ i have a faint positive!!!!! I have done 3 tests to be sure.

Could this still be HCG from my trigger?? Or not as the last 2 days of testing have all been negative?

With the backache and spotting, could it be a miscarriage or something as surely too late for implantation bleeding?

The answer is that no one really knows haha but I need to just offload on a page and maybe hopefully someone will see it

Hi @RuthieIVF I assume as you had a negative test the trigger hormones would have left your body by now? I'm going through something similar, I tested today which is far too early really as i'm only 4dp3dt, however because my test was negative, i assume the trigger has left my body now.

Maybe when you tested before and it was negative your hcg levels were too low to be detected but they might have risen giving you the positive? I literally have no idea how all of this works haha.
When is your test day? x

@Lauralozzle, if it helps, I've been told by my clinic and acupuncturist that you won't get your period while you're on progesterone support. Just in case it helps ease any worry!

on my first transfer I had a negative blood test on 12dpt and stopped taking my progesterone that day and didn't get my period until the next day. so I'm not sure if the progesterone stops you from getting your period, I could be wrong though.

I transferred the same day as you! sounds like the trigger has left your body if you tested neg??
my friend said she had a full period like bleed 10dpt and she was still positive and has a successful pregnancy and baby last year.

I havent tested yet, tests arrived today though, so think I'll do it in the morning eeks so nervous, havent been sleeping :(.

@laurapop I’ve read that some peoples periods arrive when expected regardless of progesterone. Although it holds it off for others and period starts up couple of days after stopping progesterone

@RuthieIVF if you had negatives prior to your positive I would say the trigger is gone, otherwise it would have shown up before.

Well I’m a massive tw*t - found a FRER 3 years out of date (you know, from back in the days of hope!) took the test. Negative. I assume the strength of the hcg isn’t what it used to be but I can cautiously say trigger is out of system now.

Tests not arriving until Friday. I will not test Friday evening (I repeat) I will not test Friday evening!

I got spotting a couple of days before my period was due with my failed transfer. I stopped the progesterone and it took a couple of days for my period to properly get going. Unhelpfully, it'll be different for everyone.

@LR94 it is so all consuming and messes with your mind doesn't it!! I am thinking the same, maybe trigger went quickly and so I test negative and by some miracle maybe I am pregnant. I honestly just can't believe it. This back ache and other symptoms are really concerning me though so trying not to get hopes up. OTD isn't until Sunday, which seems late? 12 days after transfer?

@ali2021 @hollyll On my 1st round my period came on 7dp5dt (spotting from 5dp5dt) and I was on cyclogest so it definitely can still come. I am on Lubion this time and I have still been spotting (although have a faint positive as of today at 8dp5dt). I do always have a short luteal phase though of 10/11 days so my body is just quite squiffy!

@hollyll it is so exhausting just thinking about it and over analysing everything isn't it. I was 100% convinced I was out due to the intense PMS symptoms, spotting and how it failed last year. Couldn't believe it when I saw the line today. But I am trying not to get too excited for now. Test tomorrow if it helps your anxiety I reckon! When did your clinic tell you to test?

4dp5dt here and can’t say I’ve had any symptoms, I think I would be exaggerating if I said anything really.

I’m still ok about not testing. I’m quite enjoying the time believing that there could be a baby developing. I’m worried that testing will show a negative and then we will be devastated so would rather put it off.

My test date is the 17th but I would like to hold out another week til the 15th at least. If there is a line, I want to see a definite strong line and not be trying to hold it up to light and worrying that’s it’s too faint. I have a history of chemical pregnancies so this is probably why I feel that way.

@JuliaIVF83 slow and fast at the same time. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow 😍 one more week until my scan. Anyone else feel bloated.

@RuthieIVF aw so pleased you got a bfp :D I know its hard not to get too excited..such mixed emotions isn't it.
clinic said just to wait until blood test which is scheduled on 13th. I waited last time and it was horrible so would rather find out either way ourselves this time around.

@hollyll I never tested early on all the months trying naturally, figured period was a free pregnancy test but its so much harder in an IVF cycle! I don't even know what is next in terms of tests etc. I am so lucky to have a nearly 5 year old daughter but letrozole worked to conceive her (after 3 years) so I didn't have IVF and don't know the steps!

I have a follow up booked with consultant for Tuesday because yesterday I called the nurse INSISTENT I knew my body after all these years, and I definitely wasn't pregnant and that I wanted a quick follow up so I could start a FET cycle. I was THAT positive it hadn't worked!

@Laur0606 totally get wanting to wait! I feel like if I test too early and it's negative, I will then just keep testing and being upset 🤦🏼‍♀️. Saying that I am planning on testing 9DPT so I just hope if I am, it would show up by that point.

I'm feeling a lot of symptoms now but I don't know if a lot of it is wishful thinking!!

@hollyll oh nooo don't give up. Everyone is different sometimes it happens alot earlier for people and sometimes later for some. Don't give up just yet. Some people have had a positive later. Try testing in another 4 days x
