HJen22 · 11/01/2023 14:06

Haven't seen a thread for February cycles so if anyone is waiting to start in the next few weeks and fancies some cycle buddies ❤️

Little about me, 34yo TCC #1. Low AFC/AMH. After two disastrous NHS cycles (NE Scotland) which resulted in no transfer, we went private and are away to start our second mild IVF cycle at Create in Manchester x

Jay jay, I totally understand.... Waiting for the call is horrendous especially when we know there are only 3: eggs. I get my day 1 call this morning.... Trying to stay hopeful but we know all his sperm parameters are poor. The consultant spoke about a possible day 3 transfer if they look like they won't survive to day 5 She thought it would be better to give a smaller chance than no chance?? I'm going to have a read of the evidence around preg rates with day 3 blasto's.
Your right, trying to work and concentrate with all this going on is soo hard. I work for NHS in clinic so I have taken 2 days AL next week incase I'm a wreck. Do your work know what's happening... Perhaps take some time off , look after yourself, we are going through some tough mental and physical challenges 😘

I was nearly sick waiting for this mornings phone call. Both fertilised eggs made it - I have an 8 cell and a 10 cell she said they are both good quality. However, and the part that is really confusing, she told me something really unusual happened with my 10 cell egg. I am using an Endiscope machine and she said my 10cell at the begining jumped from a 1 cell straight to a 3 cell and missed dividing into 2- she said it’s very unusual and couldn’t explain. She said even though it’s good quality now and exactly where it should be she can’t explain why it missed the 2 cell stage so she thinks there’s a less chance of pregnancy with that egg. However, she said if my 8 cell egg dosen’t make it to blastocyst then she will still transfer the 10cell. All confusing to me lol.

HJen22 , Tamtam123 , LF82 & Jupiter. Thankyou all for your kind words. Just trying to process it all and work out what went wrong ☹️. MDT meeting for me next Thursday to work out next steps. Soo disappointing, but I guess it's better happening at this stage than making it to implantation and then loosing. (Still soo hard tho) xxx

Lauralozzle · 29/01/2023 09:47

@Jayjay08 I’m glad your eggs made it! Fingers crossed they make it to blast

@Carly05 I’m so sorry. I hope your meeting Thursday is productive. Look after yourself.

I took the trigger last night at 9:45 on the dot! I’m looking forward to an injection free day today!

Katie12444 · 29/01/2023 13:05

So sorry to hear this @Carly05

Take care of yourself and I hope the meeting next week sets out some next steps so you have a plan in place x

LF82 · 29/01/2023 14:47

Hope everyone is doing ok today. It’s finally time for my very first injection tonight. Am very nervous! Trying to keep busy today to keep my mind off it 🙈

Jupiteer · 29/01/2023 15:11

@Carly05 I am so sorry to hear this and sending you lots of love.
I know exactly how it feels to go through the pain and stress of stims and end up with no transfer, I have been crying and eating chocolate most of the weekend. My clinic said I can try again in a few months so we may be cycle buddies again. Hoping a change in protocol leads to much better outcomes for us both xxx

Lauralozzle · 29/01/2023 17:12

@LF82 First injection! Woo! You’ll be fine. Ice cube trick to numb it helps!

Jx303 · 29/01/2023 17:23

@Carly05 I hope you're doing ok. I know how utterly disappointing it is to have a cycle with no transfer. It's so tough after all the meds and lead up. I hope that your meeting gives some answers and a plan for going forward x

@Lauralozzle yay! Happy no meds day! Hope you're feeling ok about collection tomorrow! Wishing you all the luck x

@LF82 great news AF arrived on time and starting meds tonight! You're only a day behind me! Good luck - you've got this 💪🏻💪🏻

Ps Change of name from hjen x

Crystal88 · 29/01/2023 18:42

@HJen22 how’s everything with you

I’m on day 10 of my period, seems to be never ending 😬xx

Jx303 · 29/01/2023 18:57

@Crystal88 had a change of username 😊 good thanks, cycle day 3 and day 2 of stims with first scan Tuesday! How are you? That is a long period, hopefully it ends really soon! X

LF82 · 29/01/2023 19:48

@Jx303 my first injection wasn’t too bad though DH had to do it! Rang & booked my scan yesterday & she booked me in for Thursday … going to call my patient co- ordinator tomorrow & check that’s ok. Have you settled ok into the Airbnb? X

Jx303 · 29/01/2023 19:51

@LF82 well done!! And glad your DH did it, mine does it for me too! Yeah I'm sure it will be fine, first time I called the switchboard and this time I just emailed my patient coordinator, they likely all have access to the same booking system for the clinic. Good thank you! We went for a lovely long walk this morning and then we went to the Trafford Centre this afternoon; followed by an amazing roast dinner! Knackered now! How was your day? Xx

LF82 · 29/01/2023 20:03

@Jx303 that sounds like a lovely Sunday! We actually had a Sunday roast today too which very good! Just been relaxing besides that. And trying not to over think the next few weeks! X

HJen22 · 29/01/2023 20:29

@LF82 I'm glad you had a nice Sunday too 😊 I had a feeling the roast dinners would be amazing down here, best we've had in ages! Just as well we'd planned to eat out, hadn't realised the supermarkets here weren't open past 6pm! Did you get a good time for your first scan? We went for the earliest since we're working, but we've booked another place for after collection and we'll take some days off then xx

Damn I don't know how to work this new name thing

Jx3303 · 29/01/2023 20:31

Fixed; what a faff and another new name haha technology and this app are confusing! X

LF82 · 29/01/2023 21:07

@Jx3303 think the supermarkets will be open past 6 any other day but Sunday so after today you should be ok! We went for first thing for the scan booked so far as think that will be easier with work. Not told them what’s going on so am going to have to be creative over the next few weeks! Are you going to be gear for the full 2-3 weeks? X

Jx3303 · 29/01/2023 21:17

@LF82 yeah we hadn't realised it was different on a Sunday, supermarkets are open late up with us! Yeah last time I had a 10am app and they can get a little behind if there are emergencies etc so figured less time for them to be behind if early! Last time we stayed from day4 to the day after egg collection which was day12 so 9 nights, this time we've 10 nights at the airbnb right beside the clinic then we move to another which is bigger and not just for us to work and be close by. No idea when collection will be or transfer so it's all a bit of guess work based off last cycle - and we should know as soon as collection is booked the max time we'll have to be here (if it were a day5 transfer) x

Jayjay08 · 30/01/2023 08:10

So I got 1 blastocyst! (The other hasn’t made it it’s still cells- so they leaving it untill tomorrow to check on it) Having it transferred in 2.5 hours … been a nerve wrecking 5 days .. good luck to everyone else!

LF82 · 30/01/2023 09:29

@Jayjay08 thats fab news, it only takes one! Good luck with the transfer x
