My hubby and I are on day 4 of stims - our first IVF cycle. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat who might want to share the journey? :)

Aw amazing! Oh poor you that sounds rough. Im still struggling really badly with it too.
I am 10+4 today! Nearly at the big 12 week point. Still waiting for my scan date to come through!

Strawberry08 · 13/04/2023 15:44

@Koalie sorry forgot to tag you in the last post!

Izzie94x · 13/04/2023 16:26

@Koalie oh that’s amazing lovely!!!!! Best news ever 🥰🥰 how many weeks are you now? That first trimester bloody drags and I hated it. But time is now flying and I’m like gosh I need to save or I won’t be having any sort of maternity!!😂

do you ladies get a good maternity pay? Ours is rubbish!! Well, not the worst. But barely liveable lol!

Eeeek my scan is only 30 minutes away! Now on route xx

Izzie94x · 13/04/2023 21:41

We have one very happy, healthy, cheeky little BOY 🥹💙 and he was very proud to show us that too!!!! Hahhha! Eeeee boy mama 🥰

Koalie · 13/04/2023 21:50

@Izzie94x AHHHH yay!! Congratulations!!! Boy mummas are the best. You are going to adore your baby boy. I had a feeling you were having a boy!
Can you believe in a few months you are going to have a baby boy?

Koalie · 14/04/2023 18:32

@Strawberry08 @Izzie94x Hi ladies 😊 quick Q. Have your symptoms been on and off or pretty consistent? I’ve been struggling all day with nausea so I decided to try a ginger and lemon tea and now the nauseas gone and I’m panicking 😂 OMG I’m a psycho. 🆘

OP posts:
Strawberry08 · 14/04/2023 19:12

@Koalie really on and off!! I would go like three days of feeling like I wasn’t pregnant followed by two days of utter hell. Really normal for it to fluctuate, but I am the same literally so psycho 🤣 I’m 11 weeks and thought the nausea would start to wear off but the last two days have been hideous

Koalie · 14/04/2023 21:22

@Strawberry08 OK, that’s a relief, thanks for joining me in my insanity 😂 hopefully those are your last two days of hideousness 🤞🏼 x

Hi ladies :)
How are you both doing?
@Strawberry08 do you have your 12 week scan date yet?
@Izzie94x now you know you’re having a boy, do you have any names in mind? 🤭
xx

Izzie94x · 19/04/2023 11:35

@Koalie I’m good thanks lovely! How are you doing? Have you got your next scan date yet? Eeeeek! Also, my symptoms were so inconsistent!!! It was absolutely horrendous I wanted to be floored with nausea every day😂 and I just wasn’t! They came and went. My sore boobs came and went too and I thought that meant something bad! Was just baby boy saying here mama have an easy ride lol😅

Eeeeek, our little boy🥹 so amazingly surreal saying it. I’m just in so much love already. Have you ladies ever bought anything off Vinted? It’s honestly amazing! I know you’re probably not thinking baby stuff yet- but we bought little boy some gorgeous bits off there from Zara, H&M, m&s and next for like £3/4!!! They all look brand new!

We’ve fallen completely in love with a name (I’ll tell you guys as none of you know me IRL lol!! Or I don’t think🤣🤣🤣) Axel! It’s a little different and not to everyone’s taste, but we adore it. I also change my mind like the wind though and want some other options lol! So if you have any great ideas let me know lol! Xx

Koalie · 19/04/2023 11:46

@Izzie94x eee yeah I do use Vinted! We are a long way off buying anything for baby but I’ll bear it in mind for sure ☺️ currently 6+3 and struggling with the nausea ! Next scan is a week today. I took my dog for his jabs earlier and when we pulled up he jumped straight in my lap and went mental stamping on my groin 😩 I’m so worried! Somebody tell me it’ll be OK? 🥺

Oh I absolutely love the name Axel! I’m not overly keen on super unique names usually but Axel has always been one I love, as I think it’s really cool 😎 good choice indeed!

Can’t wait to be at the point that I actually feel like there’s a baby in there that I’m gunna get to meet instead of just being constantly worried 😔

Izzie94x · 19/04/2023 11:56

@Koalie honestly it’s the best for baby bits!!! I think we’ve only bought a couple new bits, from Tescos lol!! I do want to get a cute new “coming home” outfit but got lots of time to find one hehe. Ahhhh does it feel like it’s dragging? I actually feel like you told us ages ago🤣 I hate those first 12 /13 weeks until the dating scan. Aww you’ll be absolutely fine lovely- baby is completely tucked away and has lots of softness surrounding them🤍 my dog did exactly the same about 8 weeks, he was laying on me on the sofa and the ring doorbell went! He threw himself up and off me and I sat on mumsnet the rest of the day trying to find a relatable post 😅 you will be fine💘

It’s coool isn’t it!!!! And not too “weird”. DH loves rock music lol, so it fits us perfectly. And it’s the only name that’s had me completely obsessed!

It’s such a ride 🥺 the first few weeks are hideous, and then you’ll get to your dating scan. Everything will be perfect - then you’ll still worry! But it does get easier. I found rubbing my tummy telling baby to stay (lol I sound mental I know) made me feel loads better. You’re doing everything you can, and creating a perfect growing environment xxx

Strawberry08 · 19/04/2023 14:47

Hey ladies! I’m all good, had a scan today because of some very sore cramping last few days and it came back absolutely perfect. 11 +3 but my official 12 week scan isn’t until I am 13+4 so I have decided todays is good enough with only 4 days to go and so I can start telling people.

@Izzie94xI love axel, so cute. My little boy is called Toby, which is SUCH a good name too and lots of people compliment so if you like it maybe one for your list too.
I buy so much on Vinted for Toby. Especially first year stuff because they grow out of things so fast and so usually the stuff on Vinted is like new. Also top tip, Vinted does toys too!! So I’ve bought a few good toys from there as well.

@Koalie ah try not to worry. They are SO well protected in there. I fell on my front in a horse riding accident when I was pregnant before with my now toddler and I didn’t know I was pregnant at the time and he was totally fine 🤣 also the ultrasound scanner pressed so hard I bruised to try and see my ovaries and baby was still fine so I think you will be all good! I can’t believe you are 6+3 already, time is flying!

Strawberry08 · 19/04/2023 14:48

Oh and picture.. just because 🥰

First cycle - IVF / ICSI - Day 4
Izzie94x · 19/04/2023 16:30

@Strawberry08 oh my GOODNESSS ME 🥹 look at that gorgeous little bubs!!! How amazing did it feel? Ugh, I just love the scans. I honestly leave on an absolute high!! I knew the cramps would be ok, but I’m so glad you got them checked out. I always put mine down to stretching as I’ve never been pregnant before but as you have a little boy already I’d have been worried too! (I mean I was anyway don’t know what I’m talking about lol!!!)

Do you have any feeling over the gender? I think I thought deep down girl but I was wrong 🤣 but couldn’t imagine anything else now!!! It’s crazy.

Love Toby 🥹 what a gorgeous name. and fits throughout life! It has to be a name you can picture a strapping 30 yo lad with isn’t it hahhaa!! Xx

Koalie · 19/04/2023 16:48

Thank you both so much for your reassuring stories, I feel a lot better now. Only a week until my next scan 🤞🏼

@Strawberry08 Toby is a gorgeous name too! We have had our names picked out since our first pregnancy back in 2021. Leo for a boy and Mollie for a girl. ☺️we’ve been just dying to be able to finally use one of them. So pleased your scan went well and you can start sharing your news - how exciting !! Xx

Strawberry08 · 19/04/2023 17:05

@Izzie94x they have actually completely stopped now thankfully so I don’t need to worry. Loved the scan, I always am so happy. For about 2 days… and then I start worrying again before I can feel baby moving consistently and then that’s the biggest reassurance. Until they have a quiet day and then the panic sets in again 🤣
I think it will be another boy. But I am completely impartial. I’d love a boy so Toby has a brother and I love being a boy mum and it’s what I’m used to but I would love a little girl too. My guess is boy! We will book a gender scan for four weeks time.

@Koalie aw I love both those names. Leo was on our list for Toby. This is going to be the time where you can finally use it. Will you find out gender or wait for surprise?

Koalie · 19/04/2023 17:10

@Strawberry08 We have ummed and ahed (sp? Lol) a lot about whether we would want to find out and have come to the conclusion that we will but we will wait until 20 weeks. I am convinced it’s a boy because of the numberplate (did I tell you about that? Lol) I actually feel really weird talking about this, like I’m going to jinx it 😔x

this has been my favourite post ever to read! So many positive outcomes!! I’m starting my injections tonight and I was just wondering do you have any tips food / vitamin wise and just in general to get as many eggs as possible (as it’s our second and last funded cycle) congratulations all!

Strawberry08 · 24/04/2023 19:23

@Shm93 Ahh glad it’s a nice read! Welcome, and best best of luck for your round. Very exciting! Are you on short or long protocol?
Food wise - I remember doing lots of research and generally lowish sugar and low caffeine, lots of protein and greens, salt is good (to prevent OHHS but I’m not sure if that’s high risk for you which I guess you know if you’ve had a round already).
But just listen to your body and eat what you fancy. The more relaxed and happy you are the better

Strawberry08 · 24/04/2023 19:38

@Koalie @Izzie94x how are you both??

Shm93 · 24/04/2023 21:32

Were doing short protocol but our appointment showing us the needles felt so long ago. My partner was amazing with the needles but when we’ve looked at our medication, there’s a tablet for norethisterone that I can’t remember being mentioned and when we called this morning it wasn’t mentioned either so I’m freaking out now we’ve done something wrong 🥹
Yeah when I found the thread it was only at the end as well I realised how recent it was cause the ones I usually read are from years ago so it was lovely to see. I bet it’s the best feeling for you all. How far along are you now @Strawberry08 x

Strawberry08 · 25/04/2023 07:56

@Shm93 Ah no! Have you asked the clinic? I think they sometimes give that to take before injections but could be wrong.
I am 12+2 😊
