My hubby and I are on day 4 of stims - our first IVF cycle. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat who might want to share the journey? :)

How’s everyone doing? 🥰 @Strawberry08 hows pregnancy going?!

@Koalie how you feeling my lovely xx

Koalie · 29/03/2023 08:42

@Izzie94x 5dpt today and I’ve not caved yet 😆 I’ve got back ache and a sore throat but that’s about it. I did also have some stabbing pains the day after transfer. Very aware it could just be any one of the cocktail of drugs I’m pumping into myself every day so trying to stay calm 😎

How are you doing? Xx

@Izzie94x good thank you! Feeling really rough, tired, nauseas etc. I have another scan at 9+2 on Tuesday. How are you? Living the second trimester dream??

@Koalie ah well done for not caving. So exciting and have all my fingers crossed for you

OMG!!!! Congratulations @Koalie !!! That’s an amazing line for this stage. You must be so thrilled! Can’t believe we’ve had so many positives on this group

Izzie94x · 30/03/2023 21:26

@Koalie OH MY FUCKING GODDDDD😭😭 best news ever!!!!!!! I’m so so happy for you. Best feeling in the world!!! 🥰🤍✨ and that is one amazing line!!!!!

Koalie · 30/03/2023 22:29

@Strawberry08 @Izzie94x awww thank you girlies ! I really wish I could say we were ecstatic/over the moon/relieved etc, as these are all the feelings we thought we would feel but we are both just a bit numb tbh. I don’t know if it’s because we’ve been here twice before. We obviously have all the hope that this will be different, as it’s the closest we’ve ever been, actually knowing we have a good embryo in there. I think it’ll take a bit of time for us to gather our thoughts but until then, I can’t stop staring at the test 🤭 I am certainly relieved at how dark the line is, that’s for sure! Grow baby, grow 🌼

@Izzie94x @Strawberry08 the numbness has turned to pure happiness today. Can’t stop smiling. We also just got Ricky Gervais tickets for his new tour so it’s a very good day. Hope you both have a happy Friday xx

@Koalie ahh amazing!! So glad you are managing to enjoy it today. The odds are in your favour and the strong positive test, good embryo, all looking like really good signs. Happy weekend!!

@Strawberry08 @Izzie94x
Hi ladies
How are you both doing?
Just wondering, when did you both have your first ultrasound? (How many weeks/days preg were you?)
My clinic book the first ultrasound for 8 weeks but the EPAU will do a scan at 6 weeks for me due to having previous miscarriages. The only thing is, my first pregnancy that ended in a MMC didn’t grow at all after my first scan which was private and at 6 weeks 3 days so I think i feel paranoid now that it was too early and something happened at the scan to make me miscarry.
Any words of reassurance welcome? 😆🫶🏼

Strawberry08 · 04/04/2023 16:08

@Koalie hey! I’m doing well thank you. I’m 9+2 and literally just come back from a scan my ivf clinic did as the final one and all is looking perfect 😍 can’t believe we are in sight of the big 12 week scan.
Re. early scans, I extensively researched about this as I had the same thing with my first two miscarriages but there is no evidence at all to suggest ultrasound does cause early miscarriages. With my successful pregnancy and this one (success so far!) I’ve had scans at 6+2 and everything’s been fine after.

I think around the 6 week point is a tricky time anyway for embryos as the heart starts beating etc so a common time to miscarry.

I would say go for it if you would like the reassurance at 6 weeks but if it is going to make you feel more anxious m then maybe try and hold off.
How are you feeling? Any sore boobs/ nausea etc?

Koalie · 04/04/2023 16:28

@Strawberry08 oh my goodness, 9 weeks has come around so quickly! Hope it does the same for me 🤞🏼🤭 so pleased you had a positive scan! Roll on 12 weeks 😁
Thank you for that info re your previous pregnancies, that is certainly reassuring. I guess I’m just concerned that the baby is so small and delicate at 6 weeks. I’ll keep pondering on it but tempted to just try and hold out to 8. How many scans did your clinic give you? I think I just get the 1 at 8 weeks.
I’m feeling ok thank you hun. Bloated after my evening meal and constant back ache which I had with my first pregnancy too. Slightly sore boobs but no nausea yet (I didn’t start getting nausea until 6 weeks last time but I remember it being horrific so not looking forward to that again 😂) how are you feeling symptoms wise? X

OP posts:
Strawberry08 · 04/04/2023 16:54

@Koalie Definitely do that if it would help ease anxiety. Having an early scan won’t change any outcome so you have to do whatever reassures you the most.

Aw that’s good you are feeling okay at the moment. I’m at the peak of awfulness. I feel so nauseas all the time (and same as you, hit me at 6 weeks!). I’m so bloated, tired, angry 🤣
I just want to curl up in bed and snooze! But between the animals, toddlers, full time job etc that’s absolutely not allowed!

Strawberry08 · 04/04/2023 16:54

*toddler

Koalie · 05/04/2023 08:18

@Strawberry08 oh god, I feel your pain! I remember being so exhausted as well, must be a nightmare with a toddler to run around after too 🫣 hang in there! Not long until 12 weeks and hopefully the symptoms will ease off x x

Izzie94x · 05/04/2023 09:09

@Koalie @Strawberry08 hey lovely ladies!! Hope you’re both ok? 😊

@Koalie ahhhhh, it’s all so bloody exciting but absolutely terrifying at the same time isn’t it! I hate being that worried; and to be honest, it hasn’t gone really after the 12 weeks lol. Not as bad though I must say. I had my first scan with the clinic at 7+6, I actually wanted to move it forward because it felt like forever away!!!! But it was on valentines and actually super cute. I also read a thing online about miscarriage statistics at different stages and that helped eased my anxiety (I’ve been so lucky and never had a miscarriage as far as I’m aware!! But it didn’t take away from the anxiety. And I feel for anyone who’s had to go through that🥺)

Our dating scan was then at 12+5 but they moved me to 13+1! But she did say baby was super chill and stretched out lol, so not to take too much notice of an actual DD. I’m now 15+3 and I can’t get over how quickly time is now flying now that I’m not praying just to make it to the next week! We’ve got our “gender” scan next Thursday and I’m soooooo excited. I say “gender” as lots of people on here don’t agree with the term lol but that’s legit what it’s called when I booked it haha!!!

Hope you’re both doing ok!! I had a hideous bout of sickness / nausea again last week, baby must have been growing. But back to my usual self this week - just with hideous lower back pain!!!! But that seems to have been a thing since I found out lol xx

Strawberry08 · 06/04/2023 22:48

@Koalie did you make any decisions on when to get the scan? It’s so hard, I find about 2 days after ever scan I’m back to being worried again anyway 😂

@Izzie94x ahh time is really ticking on by for you. I’m almost 10 weeks so not long to go until the magical 12 weeks! EEK so exciting re. gender!! Do you have an idea in your head or which you see yourself with? I always saw myself with a girl and I then had my boy and I can’t imagine having anything else now! Second trimester ticks by so fast. It goes slow again by the end of trimester 3

Izzie94x · 07/04/2023 08:51

@Strawberry08 it really is!!! Waiting for my little bump to come, I’m desperate for it hahaha! I seem to have a flatter stomach in the morninng and by lunchtime a little bump (or maybe it’s just cause I’m eating like a PIG!😂😂) omg 10 weeks ahhhhhh 🥰 the 12 weeek wait goes sooo slow doesn’t it! How are you feeling? I would say reaching the dating scan has made me less anxious, but I’m not sure it has!😅 definitely not as bad but still worried.

I 100000% saw myself having girls, I have sisters and my mum was 1 of 4 sisters! My aunts all had girls as well 😅 but DHs family is STRONGLY boys!!! I think it’s sometimes natural as a girly girl to see yourself with girls isn’t it!? But eveyone I’ve spoke to has said the same about boys and how just loving they are 🥺 mummys little boys!!! Xx

Strawberry08 · 08/04/2023 12:41

@Izzie94x I’m feeling really grumpy, nauseas, tired. Bleh to be honest. But time is actually going quite fast because we are so busy. 10 weeks tomorrow eeek.
Omg I love being a boy mummy, there is a really special relationships between mums and their boys. So either way you will love regardless!
How are you feeling? With your bump youl wake up one morning and think omg where did that come from?!?

Strawberry08 · 12/04/2023 20:09

@Izzie94x and @Koalie how are you both doing?

Izzie94x · 12/04/2023 20:59

@Strawberry08 good thank you my lovely!! Starting to feel some flutters I think? I’m not 100% sure!!! But no wind follows🤣 so I’ve convinced myself it’s little baby jiggling about. And we find out TOMORROW what baby is🥹 I’m so so excited.

how are you doing?🤍🤍

Strawberry08 · 12/04/2023 21:07

@Izzie94x it most likely will be! I was around then with my little boy when I started feeling things. It’s the most magical feeling in the world!! In a few weeks they will be unmistakeable and then by the end you get kicked in the ribs haha.
oh my goodness!!!! Please tell us as soon as you know!!

Koalie · 13/04/2023 06:23

@Strawberry08 @Izzie94x Morning girlies. All good over here thank you. I have been having some left sided pain but I think it’s digestive related, as it comes with constipation and gas 😆 I did go to EPAU yesterday though due to my ectopic history and they did some bloods. My HCG is 19,300 at 19dpt!! 🤯 going back first thing this morning for a scan to make sure baby is in the right place. 😬
@Izzie94x good luck with yours! How excitingggg 🥰
@Strawberry08 how are you doing lovely? X
