Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?

@User491 fab news... everything crossed for you when they call tomorrow with the update. When I had my egg collection I slept all the way through it. I woke up back on the ward.

@Sj2505 unfortunately I can't work from home in my line of work. I've booked off my first scan and taking it unpaid as I want to keep my holidays. Really hope AF shows up soon for you!

@MsSandyToes wow that's a long journey... mine is an hour and a half and that's bad enough. I will have egg collection and the day after off and probably transfer day and the day after if I can. I've not told anyone in work though (apart from my manager) so it's hard to get cover stories with short notice leave.

@MsSandyToes thank you, I'm ok but so bloated and crampy, slept so well last night though, finally after 2 bad nights.
Wow 3 hours is a long drive, I'm sure they will give you lots of information while you are there. There's lots to take in, but our clinic gave us paperwork to take home and I must have read it about 10 times 🤣

Ah really, it's bizarre isn't it, I was awake through it all and very aware of the pain but at the same time didn't seem to take long at all.

@User491 I’m glad your egg collection went well. How are you feeling today? Hopefully good news when they call you for update today.

I’ll catch up soon. Just plodding along, hopefully my period will arrive next week at some point.

I'm still quite sore tbh, just achy and tired. Will start back at work Monday properly and then hopefully off Tuesday should the eggs make it 🤞🏻

Just had a call back, 5 have fertilised 🥳 just got to wait for Sunday and Tuesday now.
I didn't realise it would be so nerve wracking 🙈

@Lauralozzle sounds like we might be almost in sync for this cycle then. AF still here but I'm not surprised. I'm guessing around Wednesday next week.
What will be your steps after that? I'll be starting Norethisterone on CD21.

Fantastic news! @User491 l'm so pleased for you. I thought of you today. It's all nerve wracking but I think that phone call is particularly difficult to wait for. That's such an awesome result. I'll keep everything crossed for you that they develop well. How are you feeling now?

My scan went well today. Last scan I had in November I had 4 follicles on one side and 3 on the other and today there were 9 on one side and 4 on the other! Obviously they might not all produce eggs but I'm feeling so much more positive. I had the first injection tonight and it all feels more real now.

I’ve had my baseline back in November but unfortunately my hormones were marginally too high and a few follicles were borderline too big so my cycle got cancelled and moved to Jan!

I have a scan on Monday to see if my ovaries are nice and quiet but I’ve had some consistent bleeding on the pill and really hope that’s not affecting anything. If I get the green light it looks like some of us might be starting at about the same time as long as my AF arrives not too long after coming off the pill.

@MsSandyToes ohhh first injection, how exciting. I can't wait for that.. I think that's when time flies by rather than all this waiting around 😆
How did you find it? Great to hear that you have more follicles this time around!

@Sj2505 I feel the same way as you, can’t wait to start the injections!! When you think you’ll be starting?
if my scan and bloods are all good on Monday I’m really hoping to come off that day as it’s been a long two months over Christmas waiting 😅 I’ve been waiting so long but when you have gotten excited that it’s happening this month and then it gets pushed out it’s disappointing. But I know that the doctors want the best for us so it’s the right thing to do.

@Sj2505 it was fine thank you I asked my partner to do it and I looked away and didn't really feel it. It stung a bit afterwards but like you say I'm just happy to get going with it now.

@FrostedFlake I will be starting down regulation on CD21, so I'm just waiting for CD1 at the moment - a few days late but it was expected as it's very unpredictable with me.

@MsSandyToes glad it went ok! My OH says he doesn't like the idea of doing mine haha! I bet he wants to when they're here though!

Hi everyone, haven't checked in since before xmas. Hope you are all getting on well! CD1 today for my sp fingers crossed my frozen transfer should be in about 3 weeks. So excited and ready to get going again.

@90sarah hope the next 3 weeks fly by for you!

I'm hoping AF may be very close.. TMI - we DTD this morning and I bled a lot. It's not totally uncommon for me at this point in my cycle, but usually then stops for a few days again. But there was a lot this time so FX it's the start!

@90sarah ooh we could be around the same time. I think egg collection is going to be the last week of Jan with fresh transfer all being well.

AF is due the end of this week but honestly girls I feel like it's going to come earlier from the cramps. I'm really not looking forward to starting stims... purely because of the injections. I'm sure I'll be fine when I start again though.

We got a call yesterday... we have 1 top grade, 2 good and 2 average.. so I'm booked in for transfer tomorrow 🥳😬😱

@MsSandyToes I wasn't feeling great until yesterday really just crampy and tired, I think all the adrenaline exhausts you aswell, feeling better now though thank you ☺️
That's amazing news about your follicles and the fact you've started your injections, are you feeling ok on them?

My Vaseline scan was great thankfully and I will be starting Menopur Saturday night! Eeek, finally feel like things are kicking off!

Is it normal not to have any ultrasounds until after you start the second medication (Cetrodite in our case) I would have assumed I’d have an appointment just before to make sure everything was on track.

@User491 oh wow! That's fantastic news! I hope everything goes really well for you tomorrow. Let us know how you get on! :-) I'm OK day four of injections today and first one I've done myself because my OH has the gym with his friends on a Monday. Not as bad as I thought at all but I'm starting to feel hormonal!

@FrostedFlake so glad you're getting go now too! I'm not sure about the scans, I'm on gonal f and will have the next scan on Wednesday.

I think all the clinics do it differently, my meds were scheduled differently to everyone else's tbh. I had a scan the day before starting the menopur, but your clinic are obviously happy with how your progressing I assume 😊

@MsSandyToes thank you 😊 pleased your doing well! I started to feel a bit hormonal at the start, then was fine really. hopefully you will be the same ha!
Yeh it is strange doing it yourself, but it worked better for me, it started to get tedious and more sore towards the end but I ended up using my thigh in the end, found it not as painful.

@User491 Yeah, I returned to work last Wednesday. Great news about your eggs! Hope transfer went ok!

@Sj2505 My plan is wait for my period, continue taking buserelin and then once AF comes book in for another down regulation scan! Hopefully six/seven weeks down regging will work!

Hopefully AF has arrived now?

@FrostedFlake Your journey sounds a bit like mine! At my last down regulation my lining was borderline too thick and I had a follicule borderline too big. I had to trigger that day to release the egg and keep taking down regulation meds. I’m glad your baseline scan was good! It’s great when it feels like something is happening!

@90sarah Yay for AF! Things are finally moving forward now!

@Autumbreeze Hopefully AF isn’t too bad, if it has started. You’ll be fine once you start injections again!

I have no update. Still taking buserelin, which is now causing little tiny raised bumps where I’ve been injected. That’s been a thing since trigger injection- it looks a bit like hives and can be sa little itchy. Think it’s just the tiny little stab marks healing or something. I’m fine otherwise but I’ll ask the clinic when I’m next in if it’s normal.

Period is due end of this week. I have 0 pms symptoms but (TMI) since trigger injection I’ve had a lot of creamy cm.

Im hoping it hurry’s up to be honest, I’m on my lady vial of buserelin, I have to call the clinic and collect some when I’m about to run out because it’s out of stock with Stork apparently but they have some lying around.

Im feeling really impatient and want to get on with Stims already. I’ve been down regging for 4 weeks 4 days so far… not that I’m counting 😂

Just an update the transfer went well ☺️
Don't really know how I feel after it all tbh, I think I'm scared to feel excited 🙈
The one transferred the embryologist said was a top quality one and she said she's really strict in how she grades them, so not sure if that would make a difference or not 🤣
But the others haven't made it 😭 there's one more she's left until tomorrow to check again, so really hope it makes it just to have one to freeze 🤞🏻🤞🏻
And hopefully this one sticks 🙏

A nice quiet night is on the cards and an early night 🥰

Sorry to hear about the other embryos. Hopefully that last one makes it to freeze.

@Lauralozzle that definitely sounds like a histamine reaction to something. Try to mention it to the clinic at your earliest chance, just incase!

@User491 oohhhh how exciting! When is OTD?

AF is on the way. I've had a LOT of [TMI] brown discharge! Which is normal for me in the few days leading up.
I get so, so much pain in the first day or two, so I'm hoping it comes soon because it's my birthday on Friday and my Dad and Stepmum are coming to stay with us for the weekend, so I'd rather at least the painful days we're done by then 🙈
