ICSI January 2023

Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?
Thank you

Thanks @Lauralozzle 🥰

I didn’t realise you could pick where you had your nhs round! Hubbys doctor referred him to a hospital in Birmingham, and his consultant then referred us to Coventry (which is well out of our area) based on hubbys results as he said they were ‘specialists’ in it, didn’t know we could have requested elsewhere

Autumbreeze · 03/03/2023 19:11

@Brown269 that's nice and early... much rather get it done early than hang about. Mine was 8.30 both times 🥰 glad your all set! Oooh it is exciting!

A friend of mine used CRGW and she run out of meds... needed emergency supply. The clinic hired a private van to do an 8 hour round trip to get the meds to her and as it was the clinics fault she didn't have enough they didn't charge her anything extra. It's the little (big) things like that make the difference.

Thankfully mine has nice receptionists 😂 but yeah... sometimes I feel like I'm just another number with them. I get they are busy. But after my failed transfer and I couldn't get hold of them it really brought me down... like they didn't care... 'done with her now'... 'who's next?!!'
And I don't know how true it is but someone told me they don't know who pays and who doesn't so you all get the same treatment... for the money I'm paying I'd like more choice in my treatment. Sorry to moan 😂

Autumbreeze · 03/03/2023 19:14

Sorry @Lauralozzle was typing when you posted. Have test this Monday to with the private clinic. It is busy this month. DH has a bad tooth as well and they can't get him in for two weeks to fix it so it's going to be a longggg two weeks.

Yeah that's good that your with the same clinic. Is it far for you to travel? Do you have many private clinics by you? From my research we have four. One of the is create as well I think.

Brown269 · 03/03/2023 19:15

@Autumbreeze yeah I was happy we will be early, they did say the embryologists like to do icsi patients first because they’re more complex and because they need to thaw hubbys sperm we would likely be first to make sure they have it ready.

Yeah that really does sound a lot better than us having to drive like a mad couple around any and all open pharmacies in the midlands and practically crying at them every time they said they didn’t have stock lol

Yeah I totally get that, like you say you get they are busy and they have a lot of patients but to you it’s your whole life being affected so you want to feel like it is important to them too.

zarascan47 · 03/03/2023 21:32

Autumbreeze · 06/03/2023 08:01

MsSandyToes · 06/03/2023 12:16

@Brown269 Good luck today!

How is everyone getting on?

Brown269 · 06/03/2023 14:28

Thanks all 🥰
I hadn’t ovulated and they managed to get 7 eggs 🥳🥳
We were so over the mood and relieved!!
My hubby cried, first time I’ve ever seen him cry 😆😆
So now just gotta wait for tomorrows update to see how many fertilised 🥰

Im very very sore now but having a sofa day and hoping it’ll ease off by tomorrow 🤞🏼

How is everyone else getting on? Hope you all had a good weekend ❤️

Autumbreeze · 06/03/2023 14:46

Amazing news @Brown269 🎉🎉 aww bless him! So you could be having transfer on Saturday!! How exciting!

I had my scan and bloods done today in the private clinic. Was so lost as to where I am in my cycle as been bleeding for ages... really lightly though. They said all looking good an lining is thickening. She seems happy enough. Consultation on the 20th now with them. NHS follow up next week to.

Brown269 · 06/03/2023 15:02

@Autumbreeze theyre still doing freeze all due to my progesterone levels being too high and OHSS risk so I’ve gotta keep taking tablets to lower it for the next week, I’m ok with that though to be honest, I’ll be happy to have a little break from it all for a couple months 😅

All steam ahead then ☺️ are you just seeing which plans they both come up with then deciding from there which to go with?

Autumbreeze · 06/03/2023 15:07

@Brown269 yes that's good then. Time to rest and get it all healed in there ready to go again. Crazy we will all be going about the same time again potentially.

@MsSandyToes how are you doing?

Autumbreeze · 06/03/2023 15:09

@Brown269 sorry just seen your question. I'm pretty sure it'll be CRGW... husband isn't fussed on paying with the NHS. But I'm open minded so yes we will probably see what both say.

Lauralozzle · 06/03/2023 16:18

@Brown269 I’m so pleased for me!!

Nothing happening here. I’ve decided to journal my IVF journey going forward on Instagram so been busy messing about creating a new account for that. Suppose it stops me stewing.

I emailed the clinic on Friday to arrange sperm sos stress test. Waiting for them to contact me about it, see if we can get it booked in sooner rather than later.

GP app next week about thyroid.

Lauralozzle · 06/03/2023 16:19

@Brown269 Clearly my brain is fucked. I’m so pleased for YOU. That’s fabulous news!!

Brown269 · 06/03/2023 17:06

@Autumbreeze yeah, good to see your options isn’t it, it’s a lot of money and a really exhausting process so it’s better if you can have faith in the clinic as much as possible.

@Lauralozzle haha thanks 😆
Oooh that sounds good, I’m not on Insta or I’d offer to follow you!
Hopefully your sperm and thyroid tests get sorted quickly for you 🤞🏼

Would definitely be nice to all be going through it together 🥰

Autumbreeze · 06/03/2023 17:29

@Lauralozzle I have a super private Instagram page documenting my journey and been doing a video diary type thing. Not put it public as no one really knows and I'm super nervous to tell people. It's a great idea though! Hope your thyroid appointment goes ok!

How you feeling now @Brown269 ?
Yes trying to think of the best plan for us.

MsSandyToes · 06/03/2023 19:20

@Brown269 yay! I'm so pleased for you! What a relief! Bless your hubby, it's all so emotional anyway and you guys had all that extra stress!

@Lauralozzle if you fancy sharing I'd love to follow your account.

@Autumbreeze I'm OK thank you mostly just very tired. the 31st will be 12 weeks. I've booked a private scan for the 30th so fingers crossed after that I might be able to relax a little bit more. The early scan has reassured me a lot but of course everyone says until 12 weeks there's a higher risk of miscarriage. We are really keen to tell my OHs two kids but don't want to until the 12 week mark hence the scan, I think the NHS one will be later since I've heard absolutely nothing yet. We will have them for the Easter holidays so it makes sense to tell them then when there'll be plenty of time for questions etc. after.

Lauralozzle · 06/03/2023 19:31

It’s a private account, because I don’t want people I know following it lol but I don’t mind sharing it here. It’s icsipossible

Not much on it though lol! 😂

Autumbreeze · 06/03/2023 19:35

@Lauralozzle I move the name! Mine is just a load of aaaaa at the moment 😂 I'll give you a follow on my main account though.

@MsSandyToes I don't blame you, I'd be paying for a private scan to. Telling the kids Easter holidays is a good shout to. How old are they? Bet they'll be excited. Not to long until the 30th as well. This month seems to be going quickly already.

Brown269 · 07/03/2023 07:14

@Autumbreeze I’m a bit better this morning thank you 🥰 had a rough night, being sick and cold sweats and the pain was awful, I kept going to ring 111 and changing my mind cause I really didn’t want to be sent to the hosp 🙈 but I do feel a lot better this morning so I’m hoping a day in bed will sort me out 🤞🏼

@MsSandyToes I hope your scan on the 30th helps you to relax a little, it will definitely be here before you know it and then you can start telling people and getting excited ☺️❤️

Brown269 · 07/03/2023 10:21

Clinic just called, 4 have fertilised 🥰 just hope they’re nice strong little embryos 🤞🏼

Lauralozzle · 07/03/2023 10:27

@Brown269 That’s great news!!

Brown269 · 07/03/2023 10:40

Thanks @Lauralozzle 🥰 we’re really please and quietly hopeful 🤞🏼

User491 · 07/03/2023 12:05

How are you all doing? I'll try and catch up on the messages later, just had a quick flick through just now 😊

@Brown269 so sorry to hear you felt that poorly, but that's really positive news 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for more good news. Make sure you get plenty of rest 😊

@MsSandyToes wow it's flying in! That will be nice to tell them, do you think they will be excited?

@Lauralozzle sorry if you've explained further down the page, but what is the sperm stress test? How are you feeling about everything?

@zarascan47 aww lovely news, so pleased for you 😊
