FET December 2022

Hello!

Is anyone else scheduled to have a FET in Dec? I had my egg collection at the end of October and as we did PGT-A testing we're doing a FET in my next cycle. I've been given an estimated transfer date of 5 December.

Would love to speak with others who will be going through this at the same time!

Thank you so much all for your kind words. Feeling a little better. Decided to take the day off yesterday to give me some time and it has helped.

@Fanny81 basically I'm having my 12-week scan but usually they also do a blood test so they can give you the statistics and then decide if you need anything else done. In my case they can't do the blood test now as the baby that didn't make it was probably not healthy but it's still in my system so the results won't be accurate. So there is no other way to check for Down syndrome etc.

Makes sense. Try not to worry too much (easier said than done)
try to think- it’s just like having the normal combined test but you are having a different method. The cvs also comes back pretty quickly - I think a few days so it’s not a long wait.

Fanny81 · 19/02/2023 08:25

@SH998
im also on day 9 on a fresh cycle.
my response i don’t think as good as last time.(thus time last year and I’m 41 now - so makes Samar!) . I had a scan on day 7 but forgot to take a picture of the results.. overall not as many. I will message you privately as seems we are in same boat!

@Happyface82 so so sorry to hear about the loss of one of your twins. I hope the CVS gives you some peace.

Rtmhwales · 21/02/2023 03:35

My update is up and down - still pregnant (or was at 10+6 when I had my last scan) with identical twins but none of the experts seem to know much about them.

I've been referred to a high risk OB GYN who specializes in monochorioncity - so twins sharing the same placenta - and he is incredibly negative. He can never seem to find Twin B, and he still can't tell me if they're in the same amniotic sac or not. Despite this he's convinced they are showing signs of twin to twin syndrome (which means they'd have to be in separate amniotic sacs..) and despite that most of my research says it's a bit early to be showing signs of TTTS. He's extremely negative about the prognosis and has referred me on to fetal medicine specialists whom I will finally meet with on Friday. He told me to be prepared they recommend I terminate the pregnancy. I'm really hoping he's just shit at his job! Fingers crossed.

On an awesome note - they're identical girls. DH and I have boys from previous relationships so are over the moon about that.

Fingers crossed it's going well for others! Still recovering from the mental and physical trauma of IVF over here and praying I don't have to do it again.

Happyface82 · 21/02/2023 06:42

@Rtmhwales OMG Om sorry but he sounds useless!! How stressful! I hope your appointment on Friday goes well and you get some good news! I realise the risk is higher for you but many people have gone to have healthy pregnancies with same circumstances - so why propose to terminate? I don't get it. Fingers crossed. I'll be thinking of you!

Happyface82 · 21/02/2023 06:43

Scan went well for me. Baby "looks" healthy. Hopefully the CVS will come back clear.

Also, I was told it's probably a girl ☺️

SPR40 · 21/02/2023 08:22

@Happyface82 I'm so pleased to hear your scan went well and I hope you are feeling OK in general. ❤

@Rtmhwales wow he sounds like a right pr*t! I don't know why NHS are so bad at delivering certain bits of info. I hope your appointment goes well on Friday and they give you some good news ❤

Hey everyone. Sorry I have been quiet the last few months. I wanted to post an update to explain a little. I have had awful hyperemesis Gravidarum and was hospitalised twice via emergency ambulance due to severe dehydration. I eventually was put on some medication that actually worked at 14 weeks and it finally feels like it might be easing as I approach 18 weeks. It's been a loooong and hard few months and I've been signed off work for weeks and only just back now on reduced hours. I was bed bound at one point and could not go near kitchen as it made me vomit. I've been practically house bound since beginning January. Everything made me vomit and it was just horrific. I think I am finally turning a corner now and am testing coming off medication.

Miraculously the babies are totally fine. We did the NIPT and it came back all clear and we found out we're having a boy and a girl, though one of them is measuring a little small. Next baby scan is 13 April and I have to have the cervical measurement scan next week. I even started to feel them move from 14 weeks!

How is everyone else doing? @Rtmhwales Sorry to read about the consultant. Do you have another scan booked in. Hope it's good news. @SPR40 @Happyface82 how are you doing? Xx

Happyface82 · 23/03/2023 22:53

@Yoga817 I'm sorry things have been so rough for you. Sounds like it must have lasted an eternity. I wasn't nearly as sick and still I struggled!! Glad you are feeling better though.

I'm doing ok. Still bummed about the twin as we keep seeing it on scans. But excited about the other one, can not wait till she is here. Feeling much better as well in terms of energy and sickness.

SPR40 · 24/03/2023 02:40

@Yoga817 @Happyface82 So lovely to hear from you both. 😊

@Yoga817 sorry to hear you have been so unwell it sounds awful. Fingers crossed while you are phasing off the meds you continue to feel better. Glad to hear the babies are both OK and you are having a boy and a girl 🥰

I've been fine, trimester 2 has been strange as I have an anterior placenta so haven't felt any movement, haven't been super nauseous unless I haven't regulated my eating lol. No visible bump so it's just been an odd time. I am having regular scans privately an IVF habit lol, so know they are there. I had NIPT and gender was inconclusive, had a retest 2 weeks later still inconclusive lol so we found out at 16 weeks it's a boy. We were super surprised as we thought he was a girl haha.

@Happyface82 that must be super tough for you seeing both on the scans. I hope you are doing OK and I am excited with you for you to meet your little girl. Its such a weird time where is going quickly but also feels so slow.

Again I am so pleased to hear from you both, the chat has been quiet but you have all been in my thoughts and will continue to be ❤️

Rtmhwales · 24/03/2023 18:51

@Yoga817 so happy I popped back to this thread to see that you and the babies are doing well.

I haven't updated or posted because similar to you I experienced debilitating HG, which I expected after my previous pregnancy. I'm still heavy on the meds but I can eat this week which is lovely .. except I'm getting intense pains after any heavy meal and my OB thinks I'm having gall bladder issues. So it'll be super light bland meals going forward.

I'm doing well, the twins seem to be doing well. I can feel them kicking this week. They were unfortunately confirmed to be MoMo twins so in the same sac sharing a placenta. So incredibly rare and dangerous. I'll move to inpatient at 26 weeks if I make it that far and then delivery by 32 weeks unless they come early, which fetal medicine team said is about 50/50. I have a scan every week so that's a bit exhausting as it's well over an hour away. I'm dreading 6 weeks hospitalization over 90 minutes away with my 4 year old at home.

Do you know the sex of your twins or will that be a surprise? We are having girls and over the moon about it - I have DS and DH has two boys as well. Just praying to get to at least 28 weeks here with a live birth.

SPR40 · 27/03/2023 08:13

@Rtmhwales so lovely to hear from you. Glad to hear the twins are well and you have a plan in place. It is a long time to be in hospital but I'm sure will feel like no time at all in retrospect. ❤️

Happyface82 · 28/03/2023 06:42

@Rtmhwales so happy you are doing well! Will be thinking of you. Twin girls sounds amazing 😍 It's not easy but take it 1 week at a time and hopefully all will go as smooth as possible!

Yoga817 · 10/04/2023 17:38

@Rtmhwales
so sorry you also had experienced HG. It’s truly horrific. Luckily for me it eased at 18 weeks and I’m now off the meds. I hope your symptoms have eased too? Sorry to hear you’ll need to be in hospital from 26 weeks. How many weeks are you now?

We are having a boy and a girl. We did the NIPT test due to my age. We’re so happy!

Sadly the HG has left space for constant headaches and insomnia. Also my urine test showed excess sugar and so I’m having the glucose tolerance test tomorrow, also my bloods showed I’m slightly iron deficient so I’m taking some supplements for that. I really hope it improves soon. Pregnancy isn’t fun is it. Lol.

@SPR40 so great to hear from you! Have you had your 20 week scan yet? Hope you start to feel some movement as you progress further into the pregnancy. It’s crazy how fast it’s going. Have you noticed any changes in your body over the past few weeks? It’s so interesting how pregnancy is such a different experience for everyone. I think I’ve experimented every symptom going.
@Happyface82
Sorry to hear about the other twin on the scans but glad other little one is doing well in there. What’s your due date? Hope you're doing ok.

So great to hear from you all xx

Hello all
pls I have a question
Is it possible to do an FET on an embryo that has been in freezer since 2018?

Although I have a DS from that set of embryo but it was a fresh transfer then I freezed the remaining two

SPR40 · 29/04/2023 11:26

@Yoga817 hope you are well and your glucose tests came back OK. Yes I have had my 20 week scan all good, we are having a boy you must be thrilled with having a boy and a girl that is lovely. 🥰 I didn't get HG just regular nausea and tiredness which was enough. Trimester 2 has been symptom free recently apart from getting out of breath easily. It's nice to have started to feel movements last couple of weeks, at 23 weeks now. And feels like it's gone so quick and so slow at the same time. How are you doing? Xxx
