I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

@MammyandAva sorry to hear of the OHSS. Hope you are not too disheartened and know that it wont be long before you can get your FET.

@Nat4819 Amazing news about the PGT-A . Does this mean a FET for you next?

Everyone who is about to transfer in the next few days, good luck!

NS05 · 11/11/2022 21:14

So sorry to hear @MammyandAva I was at risk of ohss the first time round with my son so did a get a month later and it was successful. My clinic prefers to do frozen transfers as they see a higher success rate so it may be a good thing!

@Nat4819 amazing news re the pgs testing! Your chances will be super high now!

Good luck to everyone transferring over the next few days! My levels doubled again today 🙏 super anxious as have no symptoms yet but now I just wait 2 weeks for my 7 week scan 🙏

MammyandAva · 11/11/2022 22:07

Thank you for your reply @NS05

Do you mind me asking how long it took after EC for everything to settle down and then have ET please?

The clinic today have said it may take a few months following EC 😭

Thelotusflower · 11/11/2022 22:09

@NS05 Thats amazing news! Congratulations. 🙏 it continues to be positive.

NS05 · 12/11/2022 06:39

@MammyandAva I did it a month later and was absolutely fine! I know a couple of others that were the same so hopefully you will be too!

Thanks @Thelotusflower I hope you are getting on ok!

MammyandAva · 12/11/2022 07:26

@NS05 hopefully that'll be the case. Although I'm day two of feeling sick and extremely full 🤢 I'm hoping it's just the increase of hormone as opposed to anything else.

Just had the call from the embryologist and they are doing transfer today. She said I had 1 top quality egg. So not sure what the grade is. Any ideas?

NorthernDuckling · 12/11/2022 09:27

@SarahJane10 ive no idea, I’m sat in the waiting room about to be admitted. I have one top quality one too and 2 that they are freezing. There are also 3 still going but not far enough along or good enough to freeze that they will look at tomorrow.

I have no idea on the grades of mine, I guess if they say it’s top quality that’s fine. I’m not worried about the grade, it will either work or not and I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much - which I might do if it is 5AA.

good luck on your transfer, I guess we will have the same test date! DH’s birthday is next weekend so it would be great if it is our test date (although not if it’s negative).

Just can't believe we are in the same boat here. You'll have to keep us posted. I'm feeling excited but emotional too. Hoping our grades are good 🤞

NorthernDuckling · 12/11/2022 09:34

just been admitted, the reason I’m being sedated is because I put up quite a fight when they did the EC #mortified!

@NorthernDuckling @SarahJane10 good luck with your transfers!

I'm heading in soon for mine.

Had a bit of a decision to make this morning, all 3 of our embryos are developing but they thing only 2 could be good enough.
Given the low numbers and lack of guarantee that we'll have anything to transfer at day 5 we're going for a day 3 transfer today.

Nat4819 · 12/11/2022 10:46

@nizo1245 @NorthernDuckling @SarahJane10 Best of luck for your transfers!!

hopefullsosbry · 12/11/2022 11:37

Wishing you all luck with your transfers today.. only two days behind me .. fingers crossed for all of us, hope we have a lucky thread !! 🍀

Ems123456789 · 12/11/2022 11:53

Yes good luck everyone! So many on the same day. Keeping everything crossed for you all.

I had a call from the embryologist today, out of my 6 eggs collected on Wednesday I have 2 x 7 cell embryos and 2 x 8 cell embryos. Apparently one of the 7 cells is in the lead in terms of quality. I’m booked in Monday for a day 5 transfer. She said it’s likely they will transfer that lead one but if not they might transfer 2 good ones if they have them. On that point, I did ask if it was just the lead 1 then might I have some to freeze and she said in about 20 percent of cases there might be extra.

Positive news so far but also mind boggling on how it’s all worked out.

I wondered what everyone’s strategies are for post embryo transfer? My clinic tell me I can go about normal life but no strenuous exercise but I still think I’m going to take the afternoon off work afterwards to put my feet up and relax.

hopefullsosbry · 12/11/2022 12:30

Hi @Ems123456789 I have just had my 4th transfer on Thursday and after transfer I just take it easy that day but then the next day I try walk at lest 30mins (just a slow gentle walk)every day, I also eat lots of fruit /berry’s etc they are meant to be good .. there is some debate on eating certain things like pineapple seemingly helps implantation on some sites I read but then some say not to eat it, I eat it last transfer and it implanted but unfortunately came way as had low beta level, the nurse at the clinic actually told us this time that another one people say is McDonald’s chips after transfer.. I have always just eaten healthy after my transfers and wouldn’t dream of going bear McDonald’s.. but after looking it up when we came out I read a few people say it worked for them.. something to do with the high salt content can encourage the uterus to absorb fluid to help implantation .. hmm whether this is true or not I do not know but since it’s our 4th try I thought why not .. can’t do any harm ?! So I had some .. time will tell if it’s helped or not I guess .. but that aside .. just try relax, eat healthy and exercise gently .. wishing you lots of luck xx

NorthernDuckling · 12/11/2022 12:50

@Ems123456789 I’m a bit different to the rest of you because I was sedated so I’m back to not being able to use a cooker/drive. Fortunately it’s also a Saturday, I’m back home now and intending to spend the rest of today and tomorrow resting and napping, back to work on Monday day though.
In terms of eating, DH bought me a Krispy Kreme and I’m just going to try to eat fairly normally (but probably with a bit more fruit and veg). DH isn’t a cook so we have a lot of Charlie Bingham meals in for next week.
I imagine a sudden change in diet probably isn’t a particularly good idea.
Good luck with your transfer @nizo1245 .

My test date is 25/11 (a Friday)

Wow. So much going on!
@nizo1245 , @NorthernDuckling , @SarahJane10 Hoping the transfers went well.

@Ems123456789 Glad the news is positive and hope thw transfer goes well on Monday. It really is a lot to take and things often change at every turn.

@NS05 Thanks. Trudging along. On long protocol. Still on Down Reg medication and everything seems to be soo slow. Always waot8ng for the next step.

Glad to see so many positive stories on here. Hope it stays positive for everyone. 🙏

SarahJane10 · 12/11/2022 15:59

@NorthernDuckling how'd you get on today. My tummy feels a little weird.

I was in and out. Hated the full bladder. They said my embryo was top grade. On the paper it said 7,4,4? She said for day 3, it had 7 cells. But what does the 4,4? Mean?

SarahJane10 · 12/11/2022 16:05

@nizo1245 how'd your transfer go? How you feeling

nizo1245 · 12/11/2022 16:22

@SarahJane10 all good thanks. The full bladder was a bit of a nightmare, but they were really good, talked me through everything they were doing.

I don't really feel any different to be honest.

How was yours?

Oh lovely. Yeah I didn't like the bladder was horrible. I had to empty a little bit. My hubby came in too so he could see everything. Have you nicknamed your Embie?

NorthernDuckling · 12/11/2022 16:41

@SarahJane10 think it went fine, I have no idea because I was completely sedated. Still quite tired, just finished watching the Holiday, love a Christmas film🤣.
DDog jumped on my tummy trying to get a biscuit so hope it’s still in situ.
I didn’t feel like I had a particularly full bladder, I had a full glass of water at 7.45am and they didn’t tell me they had any problems so presumably it was ok. With the sedation I couldn’t drink anything to top it up if it wasn’t full.
@Thelotusflower I hope you aren’t having too many side effects.

OP posts:
Thelotusflower · 12/11/2022 16:43

@NorthernDuckling no side effects thankfully. Just tryong to get through the waiting.

Sounds like all transfers went well and you are all 'PUPO' ( pregnant until proven otherwise!) Not technically obviously, but its a nice feelig to get to this stage anyway.
