I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

@SarahJane10 not too sure what the right advice is on caffeine right now.
I switched to decaf tea a few weeks ago but I have had the occasional coffee at work.
I'm a total coffee fiend so it's been hard!
I let myself have a coffee this morning but that'll probably be the last one until I know the outcome of this cycle.

I might just have 1 cup in the morning and then water for rest of the day. Very hard though x

@nizo1245 and @SarahJane10 So pleased that you both got fertilisation. Fingers crossed for the next stage.

Ems123456789 · 10/11/2022 14:38

@nizo1245 and @SarahJane10 i am similar stage to you I think. I had 6 eggs collected yesterday which I was pleased about as last time I only had 2. My left ovary seemed to come alive this round (I did a course of Chinese herbs over the summer and that’s the only thing I can put it down too as my protocol of meds is exactly the same as last time).
5 have fertilised though they said 1 is maybe fading a little already but they weren’t sure so perhaps looking more like 4. My embryologist told me by Monday I could expect 1-2 blastocyst. I would love to have 1 to freeze but I think that’s going to be a bonus.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you both with your embryo journeys over the next few days.

Thelotusflower · 10/11/2022 16:41

@Ems123456789 I thought there was a 3rd person having an EC yesterday, but couldnt find the message as i scrolled back. Glad it went well. Best of luck for the transfer.

Thank you ems. Let's all keep our fingers crossed 🤞

Amazing everyone! For me 60 percent of fertilised made it to blastocyst (with a very low sperm count) so hopefully you will get at least two!

hopefullsosbry · 10/11/2022 18:19

Hi, just jumping in, I had my FET today .. 4 th transfer for us .. done EC back in April got 11 eggs , 11 fertilised and 4 made it to 5 day blast, 1 made it to 6 day blast so 5 altogether, had one fresh (neg) 1 frozen in July (neg) 1 frozen in September which implanted but beta was only 14 and it came away a few days after at 4 weeks and 4days .. so this is number 4 FET and have 1 left in freezer .. hope you don’t mind me joining your journeys and wishing you all good luck and warmish wishes 🙂

Ems123456789 · 10/11/2022 19:09

Thanks everyone for sharing the embryo journeys. Sorry to hear @hopefullsosbry about your losses, it’s such a rollercoaster. Wishing you the best of luck with with this transfer. 🤞

Thelotusflower · 10/11/2022 19:26

@hopefullsosbry Welcome. Sorry to hear of your previous BFNs. All the very best for this time. Hope it is good news for you.

NorthernDuckling · 10/11/2022 20:16

@hopefullsosbry welcome.

congratulations on the eggs @Ems123456789 great fertilisation rate.

Saturday sounds like it could be a busy day! I missed a call from the clinic to arrange my ET for Saturday and by the time I rang back they had closed so going to try to call first thing before work. It would be really handy if they called DH because I’m not able to answer my phone much when I’m at work but he works at home and is really easy to get hold of!

Well done everyone on your amazing news! I'm keeping everything crossed for you!

I have my 7 day scan tomorrow so I'm hoping for some good news and to find out a date for EC 🤞🏼

Is anyone else on the short protocol?

Thelotusflower · 10/11/2022 22:39

@MammyandAva we started around the same time, but im on the long protocol and it certainly feels soo long. I can imagine my EC will be for quite some weeks yet.

Glad to hear things are moving along with you. Wishing you all the best with your EC collection and beyond.

@NorthernDuckling Hopefully you will get through tomorrow and be ready for ET and the lovely 2 week wait on saturday.

Nat4819 · 11/11/2022 07:49

Congratulations to everyone re EC and fertilisation, I hope everything continues to go very well for you all! Also best of luck to those with upcoming transfers!

I wondered how those who’ve had recent egg collections are feeling. Had mine Wednesday and feeling utterly exhausted today. Working from home but literally feel like I could just lie on the sofa and nap all day. I know the progesterone can also make you feel exhausted.

MammyandAva · 11/11/2022 11:30

Stuns day 7 and Just been for my scan 15 on the left and 11 on the right. All between 10 and 17

Unfortunately they think I'm developing OHSS so it's unlikely I'll be able to do a FT and will have to do a freeze all and wait a few months 😭😭

I had mine on Wednesday and still feeling quite sore.
Walking is quite painful, I'm really slow at the moment!
Not feeling too tired yet but I've only just started progesterone this morning.
I was hoping my bloated stomach would have deflated a bit by now but still feeling like a whale!

Since Wednesday night, I've had like period pain symptoms and constantly hurts when moving. I'm walking slower than normal coz of the pain. I started the progesterone Wednesday evening so could be down to them

NorthernDuckling · 11/11/2022 12:36

@Ems123456789 i had mine Monday, Wednesday was by far the worst day in terms of pain (maybe Tuesday I still had some of the pain killers in the system). Religiously took paracetamol every 4 hours which helped. Still hurts after I’ve eaten/drunk something but think that is the extra pressure. Not too bad now, a bit tired but managed to work fine yesterday and today.
Im still pretty bloated, I’m wearing comfy clothes and baggy tops. Not worn jeans since I started stimms!

nizo1245 · 11/11/2022 12:48

@NorthernDuckling I've been squeezing into my jeans when I need to go into the office but it's been a struggle!

Anyone found any clothes that are somehow flattering when you're bloated?

My absolute worst nightmare is people assuming I'm pregnant and to be honest, on some days it really looks like I could be.

Nat4819 · 11/11/2022 12:51

We just received the results from our PGT-A testing - 4 out of our 6 blastocysts are normal! I'm trying not to let myself get too excited as there are still many hurdles get over, but I am feeling relieved.

NorthernDuckling · 11/11/2022 13:17

@Nat4819 thats fantastic news!

@nizo1245 Im wearing a lot of winter skirts and jumpers with think tights and boots - at least it’s not summer!

Ems123456789 · 11/11/2022 16:57

Sorry to hear @MammyandAva about the possible OHSS. What happens next with that?

fantastic news on your blastocysts @Nat4819 you must be really pleased. When is your transfer?

I know what everyone is saying about the comfy clothes. I haven’t worn jeans in 2 weeks and I’m actually quite bloated since my egg collection. In trackies at home but when I have gone into the office I tend to wear lose dresses or high waisted skirt that can sit above my hips so my stomach isn’t constricted by any horrible waistbands.

Nat4819 · 11/11/2022 18:18

@NorthernDuckling Thank you!!

@Ems123456789 Thanks!! We're doing a medicated FET cycle so next step is to meet with our consultant next week, scan likely towards the end of next week and then if all goes to plan the transfer should happen about 2 1/2 weeks later
