I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

Hey, I had a failed cycle in April,

I have my next round treatment plan next week!

I’m having a frozen transfer

Natural cycle I think they said!

getting nervous it’s come around again I was absolutely gutted after the first failed it’s such disappointment

hope your all well

and wishing you all luck!

NorthernDuckling · 15/10/2022 10:22

@Ks04 welcome to the thread, I think only @Thelotusflower and @Nora11 have started, the rest of us are at various stages of waiting to start, but I think we are all pretty much schedules egg collection between last week in October and first week in November.

@BebeBelle I’m with Care too and TBH if we have to go private if this round fails there is no way we will be using them, they are completely hopeless - even the nurse said we should complain! Hoping they are better with the medical side than the administration side…..

@Ks04 welcome and wishing you all the best for this time.

@NorthernDuckling sorry that your clinic has not beem so good. Hopefully everything goes well moving forward.

To clarify, i havent actually started treatment. Had my pre-treatment scan (not sure if that is the same as baseline scan?) So all being well, injections will start in a few weeks. So egg collection (if it gets that far) wont be until end of Nov at the earliest.

Hopefully we will hear of some BFP on here before then.

NorthernDuckling · 15/10/2022 22:01

Sorry @Thelotusflower i thought your scan was one of the later ones. I had a scan in May which they said was within date to be my baseline scan so hopefully nothing has changed since then. Although the nurse did say between my first scan in Jan 2021 and my scan in May 2022 my follicles had gone from about 30 on each side to 16 (not sure if that is 16 on each side or in total). I guess I need to just wait and see where I am now, apparently my “current” numbers are better for ivf but the reduction is because I’m getting old! I was referred to the clinic by my GP when I was 32 (admittedly just before my 33 birthday) and I’m now 35!

I messed up today, I went to see my gran, which is quite a distance from us and forgot to take my norethisterine with me so I was 3 hours late taking it 🤦‍♀️ (hope it’s ok) I googled and it just said to take it asap and basically not to panic.

Good morning,

I've spent my Sunday morning looking for online communities that are available to support with this journey. Thank you for sharing your story! I hope you are all doing okay?

I have a provisional egg collection date on 4/11/22 - my first ever IVF attempt Shock would you mind if I join this thread, please?

Sending best wishes to everyone Smile

Welcome @TheRosePetals and the very best with your egg collection and beyond. It is good to talk to people in a similar position, so feel free to vent, ask questions or just share your excitement!

@Ks04 welcome and sorry to hear about your last cycle. I pray all goes well for you this time round. Hope your planning appointment goes well this week.

@NorthernDuckling i'm so sorry to hear about your experience with CARE. This journey is stressful on it own without having to deal with poor service. Hopefully this is the only cycle you will need hun. How are you getting on with Norethisterone? I finished taking it on Saturday and still no withdrawal bleed so i'm getting a bit worried. I am not sure when the bleeding is meant to start. Confused

P.S i had the same situation of forgetting to take the tablets. Alarm went off whilst i was in a different room and then remembered later and just took it and spaced out the time. Are you taking yours for 12 days? i have four tablets left over but i think they give you in case something happens.

@TheRosePetals welcome to this thread. You must on your tablets now just like most of us. Best wishes with your journey.

@Thelotusflower, have you received your treatment plan yet? I'm sure it will get to EC cause it's happened before. Are you doing anything differently this time round re: health and wellbeing. I have to loose weight for my surgery and i have been trying to hit the gym a bit more cause I know once I start the injections (scheduled for 20th) I can't really exercise.

I have been going for walks quite a bit as well just to help me stay in a positive mind frame. The counsellor lady was really helpful. She said I should do things that I enjoy for my own health and wellbeing and not to do everything because of the IVF journey / fertility. That different way of thinking has really helped me so much.

What is everyone else doing to help cope with this situation?😀

Thelotusflower · 17/10/2022 21:50

@BebeBelle great to hear you are looking after yourself. I am trying to stay active and get healthier.

The nurse warned me it might not get to egg collection, so trying to prepare myself, whilst staying positive.

Have not received my treatment plan yet- next few days hopefully and injections will start 1st week of Nov all being well.

Are you physically unable to exercise once taking injections? Im wondering if i should scale back then.

Hope your weight loss for surgery goes well.

Hope everyone else is doing well

NorthernDuckling · 18/10/2022 10:28

@TheRosePetals I don’t have any side effects anymore, I need to take it for 18 days (stop taking them on Friday) then have a 5 day gap and have the first injection on 27/10, the nurse said your period should come on one of the days in the gap and if it doesn’t you need to call them. I think if I get delayed it will be here because when I came off the pill (10 years ago) it took 8 months to get a period. My period is usually every 24-25 days so I usually ovulate fairly early in my cycle.
I was told I’d need a scan every 2-3 days, if I have my first injection on 27/10, I’m hoping for a scan on the Saturday and Tuesday because these are my days off but knowing me it will be Friday and Monday which means juggling work.

I haven’t really changed anything, eating OK (not massively healthily but not really bad either), I don’t drink or smoke and my BMI is about 22 so it’s about trying not to get too stressed which so far I’m managing to put it to the back of my mind. We’re really busy in work which helps because I can’t really do anything but focus on that when I’m there.

it isn’t long now, only a few weeks to go, and then it will only be 6 weeks to Christmas!

Hi all,

Hope everyone is okay. I've actually been told to skip the Norethisterone and go straight to my injections on CD2.

I'm currently using My Fitness Pal to track my food for monitoring my BMI - it's around 29 😬 and keeping my steps up during my lunch break!

Have a lovely day ☺️

MammyandAva · 18/10/2022 13:36

Hi All,

A quick update... my meds have just arrived and everything suddenly feels real 🫣 the amount of medication is overwhelming 😭

I have emailed my clinic but does anyone know if we get shown how to administer the injections please?

I start my northisterone tomorrow and finish on the 28th and apparently I'll have a bleed and have a baseline scan when I start the bleed - anyone else in the same boat?

My egg collection is WC 14th Nov.

How's everyone feeling?

Hi @MammyandAva ,

I received my injections today! We had a chat with the nurse to explain how to administer the injections. She also offered if we wanted to go on teams for her to show us but we felt okay with her description. We are with Bourn Hall and they sent an email with links to watch videos, too.

Good luck with the tablets starting, too!

Have a lovely day ☺️

MammyandAva · 18/10/2022 14:35

Aww that sounds helpful.

Mine have come via courier along with all of my medication so unsure how it works

NorthernDuckling · 20/10/2022 21:36

Last day of norethisterone tomorrow and then I’ll start my 5 day break.

does anyone know whether you can have hot baths before you start the injections? I live near a really nice spa and thinking of going tomorrow after work as they have an open session on a Friday night and it’s fairly cheap and relaxing (and with a bit of luck it will be the best part of a year before I can go again)!

@BebeBelle hope your bleed turned up.

Sorry I'm not sure about the baths! I was told to prepare my skin before injections to make it nice and soft (warm soapy water wash). But it sounds like a lovely treat if it is allowed!

I'm expecting AF soon. Bad cramps today!! 😵‍💫

TheRosePetals · 22/10/2022 18:14

Now watching Nicola Adams’ IVF story on ITV Be, has anyone else watched it?

Hope everyone is getting on okay ☺️

NS05 · 22/10/2022 22:11

Hi all, can I join? I had ICSI for MFI 3 years ago and luckily worked first time and had a beautiful baby boy. I now have quite a few Frosties and am going for a FET this month with transfer scheduled Friday. Feeling very anxious as had a natural pregnancy/miscarriage in April and now worried something will go wrong again. Forgot how consuming this process was! Hope everyone is doing well!

MammyandAva · 23/10/2022 19:17

How is everyone feeling?

BebeBelle · 23/10/2022 19:25

Hi Ladies, hope you are all ok.

@NorthernDuckling the bleed came but it has been quite short - 19th to 23rd. Started Menopur on 20th and then i start Fyremadel tomorrow 24th. I have my first scan booked in for 25th.
Interesting to know you are on 18 days for the tablets. I was on 12 days. i guess we all differ due to scans and blood results.
Not sure about the baths either. I would just say to avoid them at least nearer to egg collection time to avoid any risk of infections.

@Thelotusflower i read somewhere about doing only light to moderate exercise. how are you getting on?

@MammyandAva that's great news that you have started with the treatment. Hope it all goes smoothly.

@TheRosePetals - not seen Nicola Adams' IVF story, i will check it out. Is it good?

@NS05 welcome to the group. So sorry to hear about your April experience and best wishes with the transfer for Friday. It is a stressful process. I am really trying my best to stay positive but it's not always easy. It helps to keep in touch with others on the group.

NS05 · 23/10/2022 19:50

Thanks @BebeBelle Do you know when your egg collection will be? Having a FET is so much quicker than last time it's just 2 weeks of oestrogen and then 5 days of progestrone and then the transfer! Wasn't prepared for it to be so soon but super excited for Friday and just going to try and rest next weekend and let my husband do all the childcare ha! Hope anyone with appointments this week goes well!

TheRosePetals · 23/10/2022 21:11

@NS05 welcome to the group! Wishing you all the best through this journey 😊

@BebeBelle I'm okay thanks- well in a lot of pain! First Gonal F injection ended up being two attempts and I think the second may have hit a nerve 😩 currently taking pain killers and walking around the living room with a hot water bottle to ease it 😔 we actually haven't finished watching Nicola Adams' program because it made us feel quite emotional! But it's really interesting.

@MammyandAva @Nora11 @NorthernDuckling @Thelotusflower @Ks04 @SportyAmy hope you are all getting on okay, too!

Thelotusflower · 23/10/2022 22:58

@TheRosePetals that doesnt sound pleasant. I gope the rest of the injevtions go well for you.

@BebeBelle Thanks. I looked into it and also asked my clinic and theyve said definitely no strenuous exercise during stimming, but during Down Reg is ok. Ive decided to be cautious for the whole cycle.

Gipe your scan goes well on the 25th. Fingers crossed.

@NS05 Fingers crossed for Friday. Exciting times.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

nizo1245 · 24/10/2022 14:27

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining?

I'm on day 4 of buserelin injections for down regulation and have my appointment to start sims on Thursday.
1st round of IVF.

Bit worried about navigating work vs appointments at the moment as I don't want to tell my boss about IVF but otherwise, feeling quite positive about the whole thing so far.

Is anyone else using buserelin? It's giving me headaches so far and feeling hot/cold a lot, but other than that I can't complain too much.
