I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

Okikokie - WhatsApp Group!

If you'd like to join a WhatsApp group for easier chatting send me a private message with your number and once I've got a few I'll set up a group where we can introduce ourselves properly and chat a bit easier.

TheRosePetals · 28/10/2022 19:03

@BebeBelle sorry to hear that the most recent scan wasn't as successful as expected 😔

@SportyAmy WhatsApp group would be great! I will PM my phone number ☺️ thanks for setting up

@nizo1245 however much you prepare for each stage, when it’s not the news you want its still such a shock isn’t it. It’s such an emotional rollercoaster and the world doesn’t recognise what ivf puts people through! Take time & you’re not on your own. Whatever happens next week, we’ll be sending you hopeful thoughts - if it’s not this time hopefully there can be learning about your responses/protocol for a next time.

@nizo1245 everyone says it’s quality not quantity so try not to worry too much if the numbers aren’t as high as hoped! I’m a beginner with all this but it’s sounds like there is still time too.

everyone else pre EC, hang in there, we can do this!

@NS05 wow what a milestone! Amazing you have got to that point and will be thinking of you over your TWW. Keep us posted. 🤞

I started norethisterone this morning, was a bit of an anticlimax just popping a pill after waiting so long 😂 but happy the ball is rolling. Not sure about time off for EC yet, just weighing up whether/when to tell my new employer as I start a new job in a week! Bad timing but determined my life must continue as Ive put so much on hold since the miscarriage and TTC (and hoping it’ll be a good distraction).

NS05 · 29/10/2022 09:03

Aw good luck @RainbowRoad44 so exciting! We have MFI and it worked first time for me and my doctor said it's usually one of the easiest problems to have in IVF as long as your partner has some good sperm to use so fingers crossed for you! 9 days until I can text and feeling anxious already. Good luck everyone for all your appointments!

Ss112 · 29/10/2022 18:57

Hi All 🙋‍♀️ Hope you don’t mind me joining in!

We are on long protocol with Bournhall Clinic. We started down regulation injections on 24th Oct. Stims start from 9th November.

I was okay for 4 days but yesterday I started feeling very tired and today I’m getting heart palpitations. Did you guys have any side effects to the injections?

I’m dreading Gonal F (stims) to start as I have heard that it can make you very bloated.

Ems123456789 · 30/10/2022 19:17

Hi everyone,
I wonder if I can join to surround myself with people going through the same thing.
I’m on day 5 of stims, 3rd IVF attempt at the Agora in Brighton.
My low ovarian reserve is our main issue though also had some potential immune system issues also found so on steroids for this round too.
Starting to feel a little wiped, nauseous and tired from stims. Also feel a little away with the fairies 🤣
hope everyone is getting on okay and wishing anyone with procedures luck this week.

Thelotusflower · 30/10/2022 23:48

@Ems123456789 and @Ss112 welcome. Glad to see you are well on your way.

@Ss112 I didnt have any side effects on previous attempts, but that was a long time ago and I imagine it will be very different for me this time. Hope you get through it well without too many side effects.

@Ems123456789 good luck and hope the symptoms/tiredness/fairies subside 😉

Nat4819 · 31/10/2022 06:15

Hi ladies!
Hope it is ok if I join you? I'm going in for my egg collection this morning and I'm a complete bundle of nerves, have been tossing and turning all night. This is our first round of IVF/ICSI, we're doing PGT-A testing as well so hopefully will do a FET next cycle. This whole process has become all consuming, it's all I can really think about, it will be so helpful to be able share and talk with others who are going through the same thing.

Thelotusflower · 31/10/2022 10:33

@Nat4819 Welcome. This process really does consume you doesnt it? All the very best with your egg collection. It will be over nefore you know it. Fingers crossed for you.

Ems123456789 · 31/10/2022 10:57

Thank you @Thelotusflower much appreciated.

@Nat4819 good luck with your egg collection. I know how nerve wracking it can be and the days that follow. 🤞

BebeBelle · 31/10/2022 12:53

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been a bit quiet. Weekend wait for today's scan was torture. I was really down and then stressing about being stressed out.

I've just been to my day 12 scan. I thought I would just update in case someone wants to know what happened with my situation.

Sadly the cycle has been abandoned due being non responsive. The follicles did not grow any further since Friday. I had really hope to have a wee embryo frozen before my surgery but i have to wait at least 6 weeks. I will have a follow up appt and they are planning on increasing my Menopur to 225 for next cycle.

It's been nice chatting with you all and thanks for all the encouraging messages. I really wish you all the best with your fertility journey Smile

Nat4819 · 31/10/2022 13:47

@BebeBelle I'm so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle. Wishing you all the best for the next round!

@Ems123456789 @Thelotusflower Thank you both :-) Egg collection went well, they were able to collect 21 eggs. I know it's quality not quantity though so will wait to see how they develop over the next few days! Currently at home relaxing on the sofa, the procedure definitely wipes you out for the day (or at least it has for me!).

NS05 · 31/10/2022 13:48

Welcome everyone! @BebeBelle I'm so sorry to hear that and so frustrating you have to wait but fingers crossed they will modify your medication and get great results next time! This process really is so all consuming!

NS05 · 31/10/2022 13:49

Amazing news @Nat4819 I had the exact same number and got 9 blastocysts so hopefully you will be the same!

Nat4819 · 31/10/2022 14:59

Thanks @NS05! I would be elated if we ended up with 9 blastocysts! 🤞🏾

NorthernDuckling · 02/11/2022 08:43

Hi everyone, hope everything is going well and no one has too many side effects from medication.
I had my day 7 scan today, 8 follicles 10-15mm and 7 follicles 8-10mm. I have another scan booked for Friday and on track for EC on Monday. Unfortunately they think I have another polyp 😭 so may not be able to do a transfer but I need another scan and they will have a look at EC.

Morning!
I'm sorry to hear there maybe a suspected polyp 😞 this is such an emotional rollercoaster- let alone without all the medications, appointments and procedures 😞 please reach out if you need support.

All okay here thank you - I had my egg collection yesterday! @SportyAmy and @RainbowRoad44 have been very supportive to me and I feel really grateful for this thread and hearing everyone's experiences but still being there, too.

You are not on your own 😊 it is also National Fertility Awareness Week and there have been webinars going on. I know there's another scheduled for 12.30pm tomorrow which is called Talk Fertility. I found all the information here : fertilitynetworkuk.org/national-fertility-awareness-week-31-oct-4-november-2022/

NS05 · 03/11/2022 17:50

So sorry to hear about the polyp @NorthernDuckling but sounds like a great number of follicles! @TheRosePetals thanks for sharing those links!

I have been super on edge since my transfer last Friday for me the 2ww has been awful. I did get the faintest BFP this morning so praying this is it. After a miscarriage in April I'm going to be extremely anxious for the time being! Hope everyone is ok!

Thelotusflower · 03/11/2022 19:42

Hi all,

@NorthernDuckling sorry to hear of your possible polyp. Its horrible when things like that happen. Hope your scan goes well.

@TheRosePetals How exciting you've had your EC. One step closer! How did it go?

Thanks for the links. Didnt realise it was infertility awareness week.

@NS05 Ooh, praying it sticks 🙏.Exciting, but i understand still worrying. Best of luck.

Ive only just started medication, so a long way to go for me.

Ems123456789 · 03/11/2022 21:24

Sorry to hear @NorthernDuckling duckling about the polyp. I feel like ivf is like getting through a track of hurdles! I remember when my first ever round got abandoned on day 8 and I was devastated. Now I celebrate each scan like a milestone. I hope the next scan goes okay!

@NS05 this is positive news, keeping everything crossed from you. Totally understand on the anxiety.

@TheRosePetals hope your egg collection went okay.

I am on day 9 of stims, looking like my egg collection will hopefully be Monday. I am nervous as I only got 2 eggs last time, but both fertilised and 1 did become a great embryo which unfortunately ended up ectopic. Just trying to stay positive.

Thelotusflower · 03/11/2022 23:29

@Ems123456789 A few more days to go for EC. Fingers crossed for positive news.

TheRosePetals · 04/11/2022 06:05

@Ems123456789 and @Thelotusflower

The egg collection went really well, thank you! I was on Cloud 9 during it 😂 12 eggs were retrieved, 9 were good enough and 7 of those fertilised!!

I have transfer next week ❤️

MammyandAva · 04/11/2022 12:56

Hi all,

How are we all doing?

Just a quick update from me, I've had my baseline today and will be starting injections this evening 🫣 suddenly hit me that it's all real!

Any tips for the injections please?

Thelotusflower · 04/11/2022 13:12

@TheRosePetals Thats great news. Great fertilisation. Best of luck for the transfer. How exciting.

@MammyandAva you are close to me then. I started injections 2 days ago :)
Not much advice except go in quick! Thats what works for me. And i like to do it in the evening in case of any side effects, but all is fine so far.
