I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

@Liddy82 god I haven't even thought of that at all. I think because of all the IVF drugs I always have a long wait for my period after a negative result.

I cannot bring myself to say auntie flow or AF. I just can't. Haha

@CR7 i was late after my first ivf cycle but I think I’m just so terrified with this being our last chance/hope my mind is in overdrive. I’m stuck in panic mode.

5 years of this journey, you think I’d want it to end but when it does. What then???

I've ordered some more pregnancy tests. Amazon told me this is the 32nd time ordering them. How sad is that. I have never in almost 42 years had a positive result. I think I may pass out with a positive. I'm right here if you need to talk xx

@CR7 that hurts my heart for you. This is the most painful journey for all.

Im hoping beyond hope you get your positive. Being older just adds to our panic.

@CR7 Thanks. Im not at testing stage yet. Just had 3 long weeks of down regulation and just started stimming this week.

How is everyone doing? @SarahJane10 did you get hold of your clinic to ask about a FET?
I did my test today which was a complete waste of a test and I’ve now finished the box 😭 but reported my BFN to the clinic.
I’m really hoping my period will end tomorrow, it has been so heavy and uncomfortable.
The clinic have told me I’m unlikely to get a FET in this side of Xmas because I need the review appointment with the consultant and a planning appointment with a nurse.
Apparently the lab are closed over Xmas so don’t do transfers. It’s a little disappointing but I guess it gives my body a bit of time to recover and mean I can enjoy Xmas and parties without worrying about whether I’m being healthy enough.
Hope everyone is keeping well @Thelotusflower I can’t wait to hear your update on the egg collection when you get there, you’ve had such an epic journey and really hope you get loads of great eggs.

Also sorry I didn’t respond at the time but @MammyandAva I can’t believe you were given dodgy sperm. I’d be livid and at least requesting the £1,300 back. Surely one of the points of using a donor is to get better results.
At least your blast sounds like it is great quality, do you know when your FET will be? I’ve no idea about the quality of my FE but I know they weren’t as good as the one that failed.

@NorthernDuckling I am testing this weekend after a frozen transfer on November 14th. The negative part of me has already contacted my private dr to get the opening hours over Christmas and December.

If my test is negative and I get my period before December 2nd, I can go straight into the next frozen embryo transfer. Any later than the second, potentially drugs to delay everything. From the 19th December, frozen protocol resumes. So hoping that my period comes before the second if it's coming.

I'm sorry I cannot bear to use auntie flow or af. Haha

@NorthernDuckling so sorry you are having such a heavy period .. hope you can rest and relax for the rest of it till it stops. I remember my 1st one after egg collection it was pretty heavy, I was so tired also, my cycle took ages also to go back as I was just so keen to get the frozen one in, I had a 42 day cycle until my next period came.. maybes it’s good tad you say you can relax over Xmas /new year and enjoy the time .. take your mind off ivf for a wee while and then you will be fresh for a FET in the new year, really hope you get your BFP with the next one .. I have everything crossed for you 🥰

@CR7 thats good, shame my clinic isn’t the same because I think we could definitely get a FET this side of Xmas. Maybe I needed to start some medication on day 1 of my period.
@hopefullsosbry maybe but it’s still not great odds per transfer that it works. Hopefully one of them will stick, I’ve read if you have 4 transfers you have about 87% chance of success so hopefully by the end of this round (providing they all defrost) I might have a successful transfer.
We decided at the outset that this would be our only round because I’m concerned I could get a bit obsessed, the cost implications and general health impact of going through a lot of rounds. I can already feel myself wavering though. My mum wants to pay for extra rounds (which I’ve said no to atm) but it’s hard saying no when your heart says yes.

I guess I’m lucky that if I want to do extra rounds I can do because my mum and dad are happy to pay for them but at the same time when do you stop if there is essentially no limit on how many rounds you do.

@NorthernDuckling really hope one sticks. How many did you get frozen again? We had 5 , one fresh and 4 frozen .. this was our 4th transfer and so far I am 4+5 weeks pregnant.. just had my 2nd beta done today and it had increased from 150 on Monday to 1372 today so it’s increasing well .. all going well have my scan in 10 days .. so I guess the odds were in our favour which each transfer .. hope this give you a little hope , it’s really tough and such a mix of emotions.. we thought of going for a 2nd round if none of these worked but I must say after the 3rd one not working I wasn’t so keen .. fingers crossed this one keeps developing as it should and then we still have one left in freezer .. also this was a C grade .. our A and B didn’t work .. so just shows that grading doesn’t matter to much 🤞🏽🥰 warmest wishes xx

@NorthernDuckling Thanks for best wishes. Probably wont be a bog number, but if i can make to transfer, that will be a win for me. Sorry you had to go through the motions of proving you arent pregnant. Hope you can get a clear head and enjoy your christmas holidays.

Just wondering how people felt once stimming- ive been getting flu like symptoms- cold, headaches most of the day and night, dizziness, blocked nose etc. I thought it is because of stimming as symptims coincided with that, but my nurse reckons its the down regulatuon injections putting me into state of menopause, as i am in my 4th week of them and will continue up until just before EC

Feels bizarre- never felt anything before and this is my 5th IVF. But im nearly 42 now, so that is probably part of it.

@Thelotusflower i had a few symptoms to start with but they disappeared. I suppose doing the test sort of gives it closure, but I knew it was negative so it didn’t upset me iykwim. Starting my period so early probably gave me some time to get used to the idea that it hadn’t worked, if I get to test day next time and it fails I’ll probably find it a lot harder but then also I’ll be further ahead than this time.
@hopefullsosbry I have 3 in the freezer so 4 blasts in total. No idea about the quality of any of them but 2 were day 5 and 1 was a day 6.

Sorry only just reading the posts. Yes got hold of them and have an appointment on 2nd dec, to see where to go from here. I'm hoping to either get the FET done before Xmas. If not then jan/Feb. How's everyone else doing

I’m convinced it’s negative, this cycle has been so much harder I think cos it’s the last chance.

@Liddy82 negative test for me today. 12 days post transfer so that's the end of the road for us. Tomorrow is test date but should have show by now.

I had my bloods took this morning and will find out after 1400 today. I’ve had back ache/cramping past couple of mornings including today and this weird uncomfy feeling under my ribs in the middle. I’m convinced it’s period related. I’m 100% sure when I call the nurse will say it’s negative.

We have two embryos frozen so will try to get right back into it, Christmas opening hours dependant. Official test day is tomorrow but can't see anything changing. Then I'll ring the clinic Monday and arrange to start the frozen transfer cycle again xx
