I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

@Hanoon ahhh how exciting!! Everything crossed for you!!

Ss112 · 16/11/2022 22:35

Sorry guys I have been MIA. Injections have been a struggle mentally and physically. I have had a few bruises and spots on the injection site.
We went for our first scan after doing stims for 6 days, it showed 15 follicles in total however they were 8mm x 2 and rest were smaller.

They were increased my dose of Gonal F from 125 to 200. I’m worried I might still not respond and they might cancel the cycle.

Anybody else been in similar situation or know anyone who has been and what was the outcome of their cycle?

SarahJane10 · 16/11/2022 22:41

Is anyone else doing progesterone up their thingy?
Just done mine tonight and it's starting to hurt and can't get applicator fully in?

Hanoon · 16/11/2022 22:42

Thank youuu girls @Thelotusflower @NS05 , im 8 days since the transfer today, woke up at 3am decided to test hahaha couldnt fall asleep after.

Hanoon · 16/11/2022 22:49

@SarahJane10 wasnt aware of an applicator that helps with that. Its uncomfortable but once i lay down for 30mins it goes away few mins after

@Hanoon lol at 3am. Was this 8 days past 5 day transfer?

@Ss112 sorry to hear things arent progressig as you would like. 15 is a good number so hopefully some more will catch up. Nest of luck.

Ems123456789 · 17/11/2022 05:39

@Ss112 sorry to hear about this. This happened to me my first ever ivf cycle this year in January, I think I stimmed on 125 gonal and they abandoned my cycle on day 9 because I only had 3 follicles, 1 was massive and 2 tiny and they said the big follicle had gobbled it all up. I was devastated at the time because I had low reserve and had already not met the nhs criteria for ivf funding because my amh was too low so this was a private round and for that to then happen I remember think will this ever work for me! But the consultant told me to think of it like an experiment and it meant that I just need more and different drugs, they increased my gonal to 225 and changed the meriofert to menopur and for my last 2 cycles I have made it through egg collection. It’s frustrating because of all the work you’ve done with stims and all the anticipation etc but you never know with the dosage increases you might also suddenly get some better results and they might stim you longer. My most recent round they ended up stimming me for a bit longer because I had some small follicles that they were hoping would join the party which they did. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Ss112 · 17/11/2022 09:37

@Thelotusflower Yes, really hoping they catch up. This is our only NHS cycle but if they abandon it before egg collection, they might offer us another cycle. If not, then we will have to pay for it.

Have my second scan tomorrow so let’s see.

@Ems123456789 I’m sorry about your first cycle and delighted the next ones have worked for you. I think they will stim me for longer, they have already indicated that however it will all depend on if the follicles show signs of progress in tomorrow’s scan. I don’t know what they will do if they have not grown much since then. Let’s see! 🙂

Justalittlebitblondie · 17/11/2022 09:45

@SarahJane10 those are what I have - hate them with a passion - just make me feel really uncomfortable all the time - to the extent I was begging to swap to injections!

MammyandAva · 17/11/2022 09:50

Thank you all!

@NS05 I just had the call from the embryologist and they have said that less than they would have hoped for have fertilised (5) - seems quite disappointing considering the amount retrieved

Hopefully some of those make it to day five 😭

NS05 · 17/11/2022 09:54

@MammyandAva oh I'm sorry to hear that but usually around 50 percent of those that fertilise make it to day 5 so hopefully you will get 2 or 3! 🙏 I know this is the worst time I hated waiting for the calls it's such a rollercoaster but try and keep busy if you can. X

Well - transfer day today! It will be a 5AB so pretty good quality (as long as the thaw goes ok!)

Fingers are crossed - timing has suddenly gone ropey as found out being made redundant - hopefully money will tide me through…

Also my transfer today.
Have 4 fertilised eggs.
They are going to put 3 inside me.
The fourth and weakest they will keep in the incubator, and if it improves, they will freeze it.
So hoping 1 out of 3 implants gets us a baby.

I collected 13 eggs.
All went into the freezer.
On Monday just gone, they thawed them all out and fertilised them.
Only 5 out of 13 fertilised.
We felt quite sad.
We were hoping for more.
Today is transfer day.
They are putting 3 back in, of 3 day development.

Thelotusflower · 17/11/2022 17:27

@Ss112 Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

@MammyandAva sorry to hear that, but hope they are good quality ones that end up with a positive.

@Taishan Welcome. Hope your transfer went well. Did they recommend putting 3 in? Or was that your choice, if you dont mind my asking. Im wondering what i will do, especially if i only have a small number of follicles/eggs (if i make it that far)

Hi Lotus flower.
It was the suggestion of the doctor's and embryologist.
We just agreed, as they are the experts.
The 4 fertilised eggs were not great 😢
2 were 4 cells, and one was 5 cells.
The IVF clinic were hoping for a minimum of 6 cells at day 3.
So everything crossed at the moment that 1 of the 3 can get going for us.

Thelotusflower · 17/11/2022 22:03

@Taishan 🙏Pray it goes well for you.

SarahJane10 · 18/11/2022 10:20

@Taishan good luck with your transfer

What have you replaced coffee with? I need something hot in the morning

NS05 · 18/11/2022 15:37

I'm desp to have my coffee again! Nhs website says 200mg per day but I'm too scared I think I will later down the line! How is everyone feeling? Has anyone got their tests coming up?

Ems123456789 · 18/11/2022 17:47

I’m having a decaf coffee in the morning and then one caffeinated tea after lunch as that’s when I get my slump. Working okay so far.

Test day isn’t until Wednesday for me and I think I’m going to wait it out as hard as it is.
