I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

@SL42smbc that's great to hear your scan went well. Must be amazing getting to see the heartbeat for the first time!

@OrangeBengal I understand completely about testing feeling like the only way to know something is still in there. I keep getting the urge to do more tests just to remind myself I'm pregnant. I think part of me still doesn't believe it. Hopefully that will change when we both get to see our perfect healthy babies on our scans soon.

I felt slightly sick for the first time this morning! My mum told me it's really strange that I'm happy about feeling sick but it's another bit of reassurance that things are hopefully progressing.

That’s lovely news @SL42smbc It’s such a beautiful moment. ❤️

chloedancer88 · 02/11/2022 19:04

Such lovely positive messages today! I showed my scan videos to two midwives in my work today who said it looks absolutely normal so I'll stop stressing for another week and hopefully get harmony asap x

sailinginthemed · 02/11/2022 19:36

That’s great news @chloedancer88 Im so glad for you. It’s such a relief when a worry passes.

Im feeling really positive today, it’s lovely after a crappy few days I had of worrying to bounce back. Got to enjoy some of this journey! I fell asleep listening to my pregnancy meditations on repeat last night. Was so relaxing.

Today I asked DH if it’s too early to be looking at baby classes and he just said ‘you’re pregnant, ofcourse you can’ so lovely to hear the words ‘you’re pregnant’ like it’s real. My bestfriend said the other day whether you worry or not won’t make any difference to the outcome and if you don’t enjoy some of it, what’s the point? So I looked at Baby sign and Monkey music classes. Apparently you can do these classes from newborn which I didn’t realise…Was also thinking about baby massage. Lol entering proper yummy mummy territory now….DH said a newborn will just be lying there dribbling lol. But lots of people do these classes so they must be getting something out of them!

This is such a lovely positive thread! 🤩
I'm pleased to report that my spotting seems to have stopped, I had my hcg levels checked yesterday at 5+4 and my results were back today, the nurse said they usually expect around 7000 at this stage and mine were 20723 😂 I'm trying to not read too much into it and just enjoy such a high number (and how I'm already feeling sick most of the day!)

OrangeBengal · 02/11/2022 19:54

Excellent news @chloedancer88 and @Bookbug92 and @SL42smbc. And your friend is absolutely right @sailinginthemed. Good on your DH too. I think mine is still a little wary, hasn’t really said the words yet, but I’m guessing it’ll hit him at the scan! Here’s to perfect healthy babies @Kelvie103.

LT103 · 02/11/2022 21:32

Great news @chloedancer88 @Bookbug92 @SL42smbc
@sailinginthemed one of my friends said exactly the same. Saying I would be upset if anything happens whether I was preparing for it or not so I should just try to enjoy it all.

we have a private scan tomorrow and the anxiety and excitement is creeping in! Can’t wait to see little baby again and 🤞 everything is ok

OrangeBengal · 02/11/2022 22:36

Good luck tomorrow @LT103!

Bookbug92 · 02/11/2022 22:57

That's a great way of looking at things @LT103, I'm really trying to make an effort to concentrate on the positives rather than dwelling on the "what ifs" all the time. How exciting for your scan tomorrow, let us know how it goes!

sailinginthemed · 03/11/2022 07:21

dlkiik · 03/11/2022 20:31

Just catching up on the thread and lovely to see all the good news!!
I'm 7w4d today and have my clinic scan tomorrow, so excited to hopefully the heartbeat again.
I am however struggling so bad with indigestion and heartburn, on an evening it's like the only way I can get any relief is by being sick. Does anyone have any remedies I can try 😫

OrangeBengal · 03/11/2022 21:07

Oh @LT103, so sweet. Must have been amazing to see and hear them, I can’t wait! Ditto to you too @dlkiik.

MyEasterEggs · 03/11/2022 23:48

@dlkiik sano-gastril is a great remedy. Pricey but seems to work better for me than others. Doesn’t help as much at night but during the day it’s eased up. Good luck for tomorrow 🙂

Great to see everyone enjoying positive results from scans and tests this week 💛

A couple of you were asking about Panorama and after a chat with a foetal medicine doctor (whose private company offers it) I’ve decided to go for the second level of test without additional micro deletions. I was concerned about the false positive rate and he suggested that unless we have a family history of Prader-Willi or Cri-du-chat syndrome or other rare chromosomal disorders that it wasn’t worthwhile. He did however suggest covering aneuploidy, Triploidy and 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge) syndrome because DiGeorge isn’t talked about much but is more common than Edwards and Pataus. I had no idea but it convinced me. All going well, I’ll do the test just after 10 weeks. Will order the kit online and have nurse at GP draw bloods to save another London trip. Just thought I’d share in case it helps anyone.

That’s really helpful @MyEasterEggs. It’s kind of what I was thinking, but mostly because it’s the midway option, so thanks for providing the facts!

dlkiik · 05/11/2022 09:06

Well yesterday went amazing, measuring exactly where I should be and can see little babies arm and legs budding along with a heartbeat! I was also discharged from my IVF clinic which is scary, next is my booking appointment with the midwife on the 14th 🥺
