I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

Thank you!
When does everyone have to continue progesterone until? My clinic said until 12 weeks

OrangeBengal · 06/11/2022 20:57

Not sure @dlkiik, but I’m assuming 12wks as I’m on 800mg of cyclogest and 50mg lubion daily for a level consistently around 100, I assume if it my level was a lot higher I could lower / stop my dose. Either way find out at my 7wk appointment.

MyEasterEggs · 06/11/2022 21:16

@dlkiik I queried this with my clinic on Friday. Think the plan is to stop or taper from 12 weeks but I’ve asked to continue until 16 weeks given my history. I think 12 weeks is pretty common though.

Had my first proper meltdown this morning and cried ugly tears down the phone to PAU. It was only a matter of time I suppose. Feeling a bit calmer now but my symptoms seem to have vanished overnight, which is worrying since that’s what happened with my previous losses. I really wish I could be seen today but I’m having to sit tight and wait for a reassurance scan tomorrow 😞

OrangeBengal · 07/11/2022 13:56

Oh @MyEasterEggs, I’m not sure what to say other then hopefully it’s nothing and you’ll be reassured at the scan tomorrow. I have everything crossed for then.

sailinginthemed · 07/11/2022 14:28

@MyEasterEggs I am so sorry you are having a nightmare day. For what it’s worth I felt every symptom disappear a few weeks ago and was convinced the viability scan would show nothing but it was ok. I think that time was particularly triggering as it was the same week everything went wrong previously so I was convinced that the temporary lack of symptoms meant it was ending again just like before when in fact my IVF nurse said it’s perfectly normal for symptoms not to be constant. I’m really wishing this is all it is. Sending so much strength. And wishing you every luck for tomorrow.

LT103 · 07/11/2022 15:59

@MyEasterEggs i have had similar. I had a whole 3 days away with no symptoms and got in a panic but they’ve come back. They can come and go. Fingers crossed everything ok at scan tomorrow.

I had booking in appt this morning. Suddenly it’s all a bit scary and real

chloedancer88 · 07/11/2022 17:45

@MyEasterEggs I had the same. Hopefully it's nothing but I hope they see you and you get some reassurance xx

chloedancer88 · 07/11/2022 17:46

Booked with midwife today. They changed my dates so I'm 12+6 now! Everything looks good and the nuchal translucency looks normal but still booked in for the quad test

Wow, beautiful pic @chloedancer88 😍

Kelvie103 · 07/11/2022 20:37

@MyEasterEggs sorry to hear you're having a worrying time and I can understand the panic given what you've been through before. Hopefully all the drugs and extra tests that come will ivf will keep this baby safe. Crossing my fingers you have good news tomorrow.

@chloedancer88 glad to hear that everything's looking good on your scan and baby is growing so well!

LT103 · 07/11/2022 21:23

@chloedancer88 glad everything is looking good!!

SL42smbc · 08/11/2022 01:31

@MyEasterEggs it's hard to not stress when symptoms disappear. I was worried last weekend as I started to feel more energetic and no nausea. It's especially hard when you have experienced a loss before. Fingers crossed you get a good scan and can relax a bit.

MyEasterEggs · 08/11/2022 11:23

Thank you so much, everyone. Just home from seeing little one measuring bang on date at 8+3 😭

Can’t describe the relief I feel. I know many of you have been there so will get it. Next scan at 10 weeks, which is another difficult milestone, but not too far away.

Hope everyone else is well today 💛

@chloedancer88 lovely news and pic. They asked if I wanted a scan photo today as baby looked so cute but they’re just going to keep it on file for me. I find scans so triggering having had more bad news than good news over the years but maybe I’ll get a print out to share next time!

@MyEasterEggs I'm so sorry you're struggling right now. We are all here with you and understand how you are feeling. I have ended up with several scans because I just couldn't settle myself. You are so close to getting out of that first trimester and every day is one step closer. Are you in to mindfulness or visualisations? I think we have all formed these protective bubbles around ourselves because of our pasts but we really need to learn to enjoy each moment (as easy as it sounds!) allow your head to go where you don't let it go. Picture a bump, picture movement, picture pregnancy announcements and the joy other people will feel for you. Even for a moment, and then forget about it for another day. And do keep these scans even for a later date. You'll want them for the baby book!

OrangeBengal · 08/11/2022 11:56

I’m so pleased for you @MyEasterEggs, and another milestone down as you said, which must feel great!

What a beautiful image @chloedancer88. Can I ask how / why your dates have changed, I know with IVF they’re generally pretty accurate with dating from the start?

chloedancer88 · 08/11/2022 12:07

@OrangeBengal because every scan I've had is measuring 2 days ahead and they like to go by crown rump length which was measuring 12+6.

OrangeBengal · 08/11/2022 12:39

Interesting, so your baby is just a speedy grower :) ? @chloedancer88

sailinginthemed · 08/11/2022 13:14

@MyEasterEggs I was delighted to see your message. Completely understand the anxiety as I have felt just the same but I am so glad you have had reassurance at your scan today ❤️❤️❤️

Completely agree with @chloedancer88 on mindfulness and visualisations. I’m listening to pregnancy meditations, they really calm me down. Also listening to pregnancy therapy podcasts which really help, particularly ones centred around IVF pregnancies. Another big thing I’m trying to do is rest and sleep well, I find I am more anxious when I haven’t slept properly for a few days. Sending love.

sailinginthemed · 08/11/2022 14:36

Just thought I’d share I’ve just downloaded the ‘Mindful IVF’ app section ‘First trimester’ and it’s really comforting in case anyone is looking for a mindfulness app

chloedancer88 · 08/11/2022 14:43

@OrangeBengal haven't a clue! I don't mind anyway. Due dates are so inaccurate

MyEasterEggs · 08/11/2022 15:28

I’ve always been interested visualisation and journaling but strangely I’ve been avoiding both lately. It’s like I don’t want to think or feel too deeply.

I might tune into those podcasts @sailinginthemed as perhaps conversations might be a bit lighter? There’s definitely a sense of wanting to keep myself safe.

I saw a lovely baby book the other day @chloedancer88 and love the one I made for my daughter so I’ll definitely get those scan photos someday!

chloedancer88 · 08/11/2022 15:29

@MyEasterEggs I get you. I've been keeping a journal and my last entry was FET day. I haven't written one word since but I do regret that now as I want to look back and remember things even if they are only fleeing. What book did you get for your daughter?

MyEasterEggs · 08/11/2022 16:59

@chloedancer88 it was the Guess How Much I Love You one and we were gifted the little wind up musical bunnies too. I might get something different this time, or it might be nice to keep them the same. There are some beautiful books out there but this one was quite simple. We’ll see!

chloedancer88 · 08/11/2022 20:28

@MyEasterEggs yes I have that one for my daughter too!!! Will you feel more settled after 10 weeks?
