I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

@Conundrum12345 I was surprised myself but I suppose this study was looking at those who had PGT-A as well as transfers where the blastocyst was hatching and not hatched. And I think the focus was on older women who had had several miscarriages or failed IVF cycles, as well as those with a history of chromosome problems (either in pregnancies or family), and men whose sperm may carry abnormal chromosomes. We ticked most of those those boxes so it’s been the right choice for us. I hope 🤞🏻

@Bookbug92 there’s no harm in requesting that your clinic test your levels if it’s worrying you. Better to put your mind at rest than wonder when it’s a simple blood test. I think most people respond well to cyclogest, I’m on it myself, but I’m also on prontogest as a top up because I don’t seem to absorb progesterone so well unless I’m doing the intramuscular injections too.

@RMS0209 I think as long as your cycles are consistently long they still class it as normal. Mine have always been on the long side too.

@OrangeBengal hope it’s all going well and you’re not having to dash about quite so much between now and transfer. Can only imagine how stressy it must make you feel but don’t worry if you’re slightly out on timings.

@SarahC1985 have things settled for you? Hope you’re okay 💛

@MyEasterEggs thank you so much for replying to me - you've put my over active mind to rest (for a few hours atleast)

Hope everybody is having a nice weekend. X

EandKDJ · 15/10/2022 20:20

Hi just to update everyone, I had my beta HCG yesterday which was 855 at 14dp6dt. This is our 3rd transfer but the first time that we've had our levels checked. The midwife seemed pleased with them and we're back tomorrow to see if it has hopefully doubled. 🤞

What has everyone else's experience with HCG levels been if people don't mind sharing? We don't really have a comparison.

Kelvie103 · 16/10/2022 08:43

Hi congratulations to everyone on your positives so far. I hope you don't mind me jumping on. I've been lurking here for a while following people's stories but have been too afraid to post until now as it's been a bit of a journey to even get to the transfer stage. Plus I'm shy!

I had my 2nd frozen transfer on the 7th. The first and 2 iuis were all negatives which I never had any symptoms from. This one I was convinced it would be negative too as I had no symptoms again apart from slightly sore boobs from 5 days. I'm 9dp5dt now, my official test day is tomorrow but I thought I'd get it out the way as I didn't want to do it on a work day. Told my husband I was swinging between 80% and 99% sure it would be negative but its actually a quite strong positive and I can't believe it! I'm shaking so much I can hardly type, my husband is away this weekend until this evening and I don't know whether to call him and tell him or wait until he gets home.

Only thing I'm a bit worried about is my sore boobs arent sore anymore today so a bit worried what that means although I was just assuming they were from the drugs or it getting near to my time of month. Sorry about the long post, I've never had a positive test before and I think I'm a bit in shock and in babble mode.

Bookbug92 · 16/10/2022 09:16

Hi @Kelvie103 massive congratulations!! I always love waking up to hear someone has got a BFP - it gives me hope! I'm afraid I don't have any advice regarding symptoms as this is my first transfer but I didnt want to read and run!
Have you called your husband or are you going to wait until he gets home? I bet you're bursting to tell him! 💕

MyEasterEggs · 16/10/2022 09:34

Aww @Kelvie103 gentle congratulations and wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy pregnancy. Try not to worry about symptoms. They do come and go as your hormones shift throughout the day. I say that as someone who is guilty of symptom spotting but has also had multiple pregnancies. In my first pregnancy, which was successful, I barely had any symptoms at all!

@EandKDJ 855 is a strong result. HCG can vary so much and anything between 200-7000 is normal around the 5 week mark. What’s important is that they’re doubling over 48-72 hours. So don’t worry if your levels haven’t doubled within 2 days. I was was 661 at 12dpt, which the clinic seemed happy with, but I’m still awaiting my second set of bloods so that’s causing me a little anxiety. Do you have a scan coming up? My first is Friday at 5+6 so I’m hoping my HCG will be over 10,000 by then as we may be able to see that little flicker of a heartbeat, all going well.

Thank you for your kind words :) I think I've calmed down a bit now! Going to wait and tell my husband when he gets home, dont want to risk him being distracted for the drive. Good luck with your transfer! The 2ww is so hard and easier said than done but try not to stress about symptoms, I feel the same as I did with my negative transfer which is the same as I do before my normal period.

I'm almost 38 and we've not tested our embryos so I know anything can happen but I think for now I'll just try and enjoy the 2 pink lines and be happy that we've got further than I ever hoped we'd get at one point.

EandKDJ · 16/10/2022 09:58

Hi @MyEasterEggs thanks for your reply. We've just had our second blood test this morning so hoping the results come back this afternoon.
We have our first scan on 2nd November so I'll be 7+4 at that point. Seems a very long wait. Good luck with your scan on Friday , keeping everything crossed for you!

LT103 · 16/10/2022 10:57

@Kelvie103 congratations!!! So happy for you!

@EandKDJ those levels sound perfect and yes making sure they double is the main thing.
last time we had low beta and slow rising which turned out not to be good. This time I’ve had a high starting beta at 249 10dp5dt but they didn’t do a 2nd so it’s been a long 3 week wait!! Have my scan tomorrow at 7weeks and I’m so anxious!!

EandKDJ · 16/10/2022 11:26

@LT103 best of luck with your scan tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you.

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 14:15

Hi everyone, I'm trying to catch up on all the news! It's so lovely waking up to BFPs and rising betas!

@Kelvie103 welcome and congrats! I can't wait to hear how your husband reacts! I'm 37 and haven't had embryos tested either so I'll be doing the quad test but it's nice to be quietly hopeful

How is everyone else getting on? When are scans?

I had a sneaky scan yesterday because I keep having dreams I've had a MMC and I'm terrified going into my booking and finding out then. I actually work as a midwife so I want to know the bad news before I have to face colleagues. I saw a little kicking baby on the screen with a beautiful heartbeat so that's me satiated for another few days anyway! I'm 10 weeks on Thursday so I've booked one final scan for Sunday and then I actually book with the hospital on 7th November. Hopefully then I'll settle down a bit

What a lovely picture @SarahC1985 🥰 as a fellow midwife I totally understand what you mean about wanting to know before you face colleagues! But seeing those kicks and heartbeat must have been lovely reassurance 💕

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 14:45

@Bookbug92 not to mention knowing too much so thinking everything that can go wrong will go wrong! Lol

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 14:46

@LT103 good luck for your scan tomorrow! ❤️

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 14:47

@EandKDJ amazing blood results! Another step in the right direction!x

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 14:48

@MyEasterEggs how are you feeling? Is your scan on Friday? How are the symptoms now? I still have indigestion but chugging peppermint tea is helping a bit!

Kelvie103 · 17/10/2022 15:33

@SarahC1985 Thank you and congrats on the scan! Its a lovely picture, I have no idea what I'm looking at but it looks to me like I can see their little arms and legs. My husband was a bit I don't know... guarded maybe. There's been quite a few miscarriages in his family so I think he's not allowing himself to hope just yet. He's normally the positive one too!

I've had a bit of a morning, did the test the clinic provided which came out still definitely positive but alot lighter than the first response yesterday. I emailed my clinic and told them I was a bit worried and hadn't really been having symptoms apart from a few cramps. They emailed me back and told me they wanted me to start lubion injections (I've had a natural transfer so currently only on cyclogest and only had cyclogest with my first transfer too). Cue mad panic and tears thinking it was already going wrong (I blame the hormones). I had to drive an hour to the clinic and back to pick them up and spoke to a different nurse who said they were happy with the lines, the clinic tests can show up a bit light sometimes and the lubion was just a precaution to help with the cramps. Still not really sure what to think but feeling a bit better now anyway. I have to do a fingerprick blood test on thursday at home which I've never heard of before and then after that I can't remember if I have to do another test next week or if they'll book my scan. It's alot to take in sometimes!

LT103 · 17/10/2022 17:44

So we had our scan. Baby measuring perfectly at 7+1, could see limb buds and a lovely heartbeat. I haven’t stopped crying since!!!

Congratulations on your scans @LT103 & @SarahC1985, so lovely to see 🥰
My clinic scan is booked for 4th November I'll be nearly 8 weeks then, feels so far away!

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 18:11

@Kelvie103 my husband was the same until my scan at 7 weeks then he was super excited. It's normal considering what we've all gone through. He's just protecting himself

SarahC1985 · 17/10/2022 18:11

@LT103 amazing news!!!

Kelvie103 · 17/10/2022 18:56

Congratulations LT103, It's so nice seeing all this good news today!

MyEasterEggs · 18/10/2022 17:49

@LT103 @SarahC1985 so lovely to see your scans!

Finally got my bloods back and they were 661 at 12dpt then 1339 at 14dpt so I’m happy with that. Even if it’s based on where I was four days ago 🙃

I decided to do a sneaky little CB digital yesterday (which I promised myself I wouldn’t do but the wait was killing me) and got a 3+ so that was encouraging too.

First scan is Friday and my boobs are on fire so it all seems to be moving in the right direction at the moment 💛

Sending lots of love to everyone and good luck to @OrangeBengal for your FET!

Has anyone had any spotting? I'm 5weeks 2 days and had some light pink spotting when I went for a wee.
Really worried now :( should I call the clinic or my GP?
