I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

Yeah I know, surely that’s pretty basic @MyEasterEggs?! Hopefully she was just having a bad day and it’s no reflection on anything else. You’ll be fine I’m sure, I think they take extra care on transfer day. I have fingers and toes crossed for you for tomorrow.

Results in 10 days. I’ll stop the drugs today and then when my period starts I’ll begin oestrogen again and if the NK profile results are fine we’ll go ahead with the transfer. The ERA results should be back before I need to begin progesterone. Not sure what we’ll do if the ERA suggests no change as then maybe we should do more tests before counting on solely the scratch for it to work. I have the acupuncture too, as an additional change I suppose.

I’m going to start visualisation from cycle day 1 too, everyday, get myself in the right frame of mind. I’m going to name my embryo, something @thislittlebird suggested and go all in on thinking this will work (if we decide to go ahead).

So I also had my progesterone levels checked today as I wanted to see if I could take less progesterone in the upcoming cycle as coming off 50mg of Lubion and 800mg of cyclogest daily was pretty horrendous. Turns out I can’t.

Below are my progesterone results from different cycles, to me they look insane, anyone had anything similar and if so what did your consultant advise?

  1. 25mg of Lubion (with natural ovulation) = 160
  2. 50mg of Lubion = 79.6
  3. 50mg of Lubion + 400mg of cyclogest = 67.4
  4. 50mg of Lubion + 800mg of cylogest = 374
LT103 · 28/09/2022 22:35

Wow @OrangeBengal thats a huge variation. What do they look for them to be? Will you stay on the lubion and cyclogest?

this part I don’t understand as my clinic is all for natural cycles/no meds so despite having borderline low d21 progesterone, they didn’t want to use any. So only had an ovitrelle injection on day of transfer to boost my body’s natural progesterone.
i don’t understand how it works. I really don’t.

MyEasterEggs · 28/09/2022 22:45

I have no idea about the progesterone. I was on 50mg lubion and progesterone was 34 at CD15, then added 800mg cyclogest two days ago and levels had risen to 58 today CD17, so tonight they couriered over 100mg prontogest to add in as they want me at minimum 100 by transfer. I think that replaces lubion for at least 10 days from tomorrow.

Glad my mum arrived today so she could take care of the intra muscular injection. Doing it myself wasn’t the one. It was actually painless but the idea made me feel a bit iffy. She was a nurse and I think she quite enjoyed playing a part!

Thanks @LT103 and @MyEasterEggs. So generally, as I’ve been told, for a natural cycle the progesterone level needs to be over 50 and for medicated over 100. It’s the variation in the levels in mine that are confusing and that it seems that only the extreme ends work for me, loads or hardly any?! I’ve asked the clinic a couple times why this is, but now with the latest results I’ve asked again, more firmly. I’m glad the prontogest was ok @MyEasterEggs, the clinic mentioned it to me today. But I’m wary of trying something new when I at least know that double lubion and cyclogest gives me a good level. Are you feeling ok about tomorrow?

MyEasterEggs · 28/09/2022 23:26

I’m having trouble getting to sleep after the anxiety of more meds having to be couriered. I also had to move locations tonight so that was a pain! But settled now. Hanging onto all the positive steps we’ve taken to reach this point. Ebbs and flows!

@MyEasterEggs you got this!!! It’s good that they’re monitoring you and adjusting things! Just trust it all!!

LT103 · 29/09/2022 08:11

i had a freak out this morning since I’m not getting any more bloods and tested again. Got a dye stealer so I think I need to stop testing now and try to relax. Not much I can do between now and scan

My transfer is tomorrow afternoon and from 6am this morning I've not been able to keep anything down even water 😥 my lo had a bug a few days ago that lasted 24hours. Do you think it'll affect the transfer tomorrow? I have taken my medication but then was sick so unsure if it actually got in my system, feel like this is just typical 😫

LT103 · 29/09/2022 17:59

@dlkiik i would contact your clinic to double check. Just to be on safe side!! Really hope it passes quickly!!

OrangeBengal · 29/09/2022 18:54

Hey all. @LT103 great dye-stealer! @dlkiik I’d seek my clinic’s advise too. @MyEasterEggs how you doing post-transfer. @thislittlebird still got your bubble going?

My clinic came back the progesterone ant mentioned different points in my cycle, but I double checked dates for my latest cycle and the one before and tests were taken around the same time, so I’ll get them to think again!

thislittlebird · 29/09/2022 23:52

@OrangeBengal not really, just worried tbh. My tests aren't dark and i had a migraine tonight so I'm a bit worried it's about to go wrong.

I haven't been on here in a few weeks, but long story short is I got a BFP from my FET cycle (3rd attempt, last embryo) yesterday night at 10dp5dt, it was pale, expected it to be darker this morning (11dp5dt) and it wasn't really, a little bit, but not much. Clinic aren't doing any tests, just booked me in for a 7 week scan which isn't a great feeling. Like they just cut you loose, it's scary. I don't think I'll test tomorrow, not going to make a difference if it is failing. Might try Saturday or Sunday if all appears well.

thislittlebird · 29/09/2022 23:57

@OrangeBengal I've had really variable progesterone too. Mine isn't being monitored closely but I'm sure it would worry me if I knew. My highest has been on Letrozole + 1 x cyclogest, so if this cycle fails and we end up in the private system I might ask for Letrozole and trigger shot cycles for transfer.

SarahC1985 · 29/09/2022 23:58

@dlkiik I hope you're feeling better. Did you speak to the clinic?

@thislittlebird congratulations!

OrangeBengal · 30/09/2022 01:13

My sister’s headaches were the first sign she knew she was pregnant @thislittlebird, so your migraine might not mean what you think. For peace of mind, could you get a blood test done. Most of mine are done at TDL / The Doctor’s Laboratory in London, they’re brilliant at taking bloods and I know they do private patients too, also maybe your GP could do them?

I’ll ask about Letrozole, thanks.

Hopeful199 · 30/09/2022 06:02

@thislittlebird it is such a horrible stage isn’t it. Feels like you come out of the TWW only to go straight back into a TWW!

could you ask them for a blood test? My tests were not very strong either but I asked if they could do bloods and they came back in range so i have also stopped testing. Too much stress to fret about the line!

I too have headaches but think a) it’s the progesterone and b) when I was pregnant with my daughter it was literally my primary pregnancy symptom!

sending hugs 💕

SarahC1985 · 30/09/2022 08:21

@thislittlebird headaches were my first real symptom. I think we also get fixated on darkness of tests but there are so many variables. A positive is a positive. It's all baby steps. Enjoy today. Because today you are pregnant.

MyEasterEggs · 30/09/2022 11:45

@dlkiik hope you’re feeling better and that you were able to proceed with the transfer today. Whatever the outcome was, I really feel for you. The added stress on top of an already challenging situation wasn’t what you needed this week 💛

My transfer was yesterday and went pretty smoothly. My progesterone ended up being over 200 so prontogest is the medication for me. The lubion works for most but I wasn’t absorbing it. Most of the stress over the last few days or so has been caused by pharmacies and medication so I’m glad to be on my way home now with a little embaby onboard and leaving that behind me.

So looking forward to seeing my daughter after 10 days apart. Being away from her has been so hard and I question my choices but I know it’s all for a good thing 💛

@MyEasterEggs congratulations!!!!! PUPO!
glad transfer all went well! When is test date?

@dlkiik hope you managed to get your transfer today!!

MyEasterEggs · 30/09/2022 13:39

Sunday 9th. Keen to hold out and not stress myself with testing. So think I’ll just do the one test then and, all going well, bloods on Mon, Wed, Fri to check levels 🤞🏻

OP posts:
OrangeBengal · 30/09/2022 14:04

That’s an excellent level @MyEasterEggs and congrats on being PUPO! Question about the prontogest, are you on just this now or the cyclogest and lubion as well

MyEasterEggs · 30/09/2022 14:18

Only 1x prontogest and 2x cyclogest @OrangeBengal I’ve dropped the 2x lubion, so I have about two weeks’ worth I can’t return 🙃

OP posts:
OrangeBengal · 30/09/2022 14:26

Annoying! Is the prontogest daily @MyEasterEggs?

dlkiik · 30/09/2022 14:36

@MyEasterEggs congratulations on transfer!
I have just had mine 🥰 feeling better today so must of been a 24hour bug sent to test me!
Feeling happy I'm PUPO, the wait is on to test!

LT103 · 30/09/2022 15:51

Congrats @dlkiik !!!!!

@MyEasterEggs if you can I would advise waiting. Last time I tested in 2ww and it was awful testing daily and comparing lines and made me so stressed. This time I just waited and tested on morning of bloods day. I would recommend it if you can!!
