FET in September/October

I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

@OrangeBengal yes daily at 8am. Just informed my partner that I’ll need his support as I tried the injection myself this morning and it was a bit of a disaster…

@dlkiik I’m so pleased for you! The universe has a funny way of testing us sometimes. This was not the week for it. Is test day Monday 10th?

@LT103 I went through the same with my natural pregnancies and think I’ve learned my lesson. Made a pact with the nurse 😆

My test date is 13th October (I definitely won't last until then).

Last time I had an emotional breakdown at something tiny around 7dpt and got my positive so we will see! 🤞🏼

MyEasterEggs · 02/10/2022 10:32

That’s quite a while away then @dlkiik is that based on a 3 day transfer? If you plan to test early I don’t suppose it matters. Are you stocked up on FRERs? I ordered a pack of two for test day but see I’ve got a CB digital in the cupboard so maybe I’ll hold onto that for reassurance. Seven days feels like a long way away already so hopefully I can keep myself busy!

dlkiik · 02/10/2022 10:39

@MyEasterEggs it was a 5 day transfer, strange how clinics give different test dates? I wonder how it's worked out.
I've ordered a 2 pack too they're coming on Wednesday so I'll put them in the cupboard and see how long I can last lol.
Once tomorrow comes and I'm back to work hopefully it'll go quick!

MyEasterEggs · 02/10/2022 10:41

No idea @dlkiik but from what I’ve read I think 5dp5dt is equivalent to 10dpo and I’ve had positive tests then so I find the idea of waiting until 10dp5dt quite long!

OP posts:
dlkiik · 02/10/2022 10:45

That makes sense @MyEasterEggs as I got my first faint positive last time at 5dp 5dt.
Double checked my paperwork and they've definitely put the 13th so no idea!

MyEasterEggs · 02/10/2022 10:59

Part of me wonders if by testing so late I could miss a chemical and I feel as though that’s important information to have. So it does make me curious about the whole holding off thing @dlkiik…maybe I’ll test a little earlier. Thursday or Friday since I don’t have much on from then or for the rest of the week. No meetings or anything anyway.

Hi all!
Hope you are all well.
I'm just being nosey... I had my egg retrieval mid September, I have had my withdraw bleed but I have to wait for another bleed before doing my FET. When did everybody's come? I know everybody is different... just trying to put my mind at ease! Hoping the little embryos don't have to sit waiting in the freezer for too long!! 😬 x

LT103 · 02/10/2022 14:09

@RMS0209 mi e came pretty much as normal after the withdrawal bleed. Might have been a day or 2 later but nothing significant.

RMS0209 · 02/10/2022 15:19

@LT103 hello! Yeh just your usual cycle 30 days or whatever? Ace! Thanks so much for getting back to me. X

SarahC1985 · 30/09/2022 08:21

@thislittlebird headaches were my first real symptom. I think we also get fixated on darkness of tests but there are so many variables. A positive is a positive. It's all baby steps. Enjoy today. Because today you are pregnant.

Thanks @SarahC1985

My migraine was 24 hours like usual but with less sickness and nausea. I tested yesterday morning and my FRER look good so I'm relieved that didn't mean it was all over.

thislittlebird · 02/10/2022 15:58

Sorry, I missed the other two replies from @Hopeful199 and @OrangeBengal.

This was my FRER yesterday imgur.com/a/4VtpQb4

@Hopeful199 I'm hoping I don't get migraines as a main symptom because they're very debilitating and I'm about to accept an internal job offer tomorrow. I'm nervous about it because I have a very good setup right now with an understanding boss but there's nothing I can do, they'll just have to deal with the situation if I get unwell/anything goes awry. You must have a scan coming up the same time as me roughly? Or am I getting this wrong? Mine is Oct 20th, feels like a long way to go.

@OrangeBengal thanks for the clinic tip, interesting your sister had headaches/migraines too. I'm in two minds about bloods at the moment, I'm such an anxious annie, it's hard to know what to do for the best.

SarahC1985 · 02/10/2022 18:18

How is everyone getting on? It's hard to keep up with who is where in their journeys.

I'm 7+3 now. I am really suffering from fatigue and nausea. Every symptom is a blessing but I feel completely floored! I don't remember ever feeling this terrible in my other pregnancies.

Sending baby dust to everyone. Here's hoping for a very fertile October!

LT103 · 02/10/2022 18:24

I love hearing all the updates Glad you’re doing well @SarahC1985 otger than the nausea

were 5weeks tomorrow so still another 2 weeks to wait for scan. Driving myself mad here worrying over every little thing so just trying to relax.
getting tummy cramps on and off and a bit nauseous on and off too but nothing major. Actually hoping for some more symptoms to put my mind at rest!

SarahC1985 · 02/10/2022 22:31

@LT103 this part is the worst. I'm still doing tests regularly. I can't settle myself

OrangeBengal · 03/10/2022 12:18

Morning all, how we doing? @MyEasterEggs and @thislittlebird how you feeling? Re the prontogest, I thought intramuscular injections were every 2-3 days, but I’m not sure where I got that from?!

thislittlebird · 03/10/2022 12:56

@OrangeBengal I’ve been better, I started bleeding today. The aftercare has been awful tbh, no tests, nothing and now I’ve sat in urgent care for hours and I can’t see this lasting. The doctor referred me to EPAU but said my tests were light, which I knew already. It’s like you’re just cut loose and it’s horrible.

OrangeBengal · 03/10/2022 13:36

Oh @thislittlebird, I’m so so sorry, is there any hope? I know some people do bleed and are ok.

thislittlebird · 03/10/2022 13:39

@OrangeBengal i have no idea tbh, I just wish the care was better. I called so many people today and couldn’t get through to ask what to do, couldn’t find the emergency number of my clinic anywhere, couldn’t get through on 111. So I just turned up to the hospital but if I knew they’d make me wait to see the EPAU I would have just gone online and referred myself there. So now I have to wait for them to call me, but also have to go into my clinic today to pick up a Cyclogest prescription. It’s so frustrating.

OrangeBengal · 03/10/2022 13:47

Maybe add more cyclogest @thislittlebird until you get through to your clinic? I’ve heard people on here mention that aspirin can cause bleeding, are you on this, if so you could stop it as a precaution? Maybe switch from doing your cyclogest vaginally to rectally too.

thislittlebird · 03/10/2022 13:53

@OrangeBengal already doing it rectally because I get thrush and bv issues. I could try another Cyclogest yeah. I’m going to stop the aspirin today, I was on it and obviously all was fine so I thought that was good but I’ll stop now.

OrangeBengal · 03/10/2022 14:01

That’s all you can do @thislittlebird. I have everything crossed for you. Lean on your DP and be kind to each other.

Minimacandme · 03/10/2022 14:42

Same as me-I had a transfer on the 30th and have to wait til 11th to test-it seems like a lifetime away!

MyEasterEggs · 03/10/2022 23:25

Thinking of you @thislittlebird what a frustrating and upsetting situation to be in. You must be exhausted. I’m keeping everything crossed for good news 💛💛💛

@OrangeBengal definitely daily prontogest for me though it is potent so wouldn’t be surprised if it was every few days for some patients, especially if they’re on other progesterone meds. I’m off lubion completely now.

Today’s injection was slightly better. Less blood and only a tiny bit of leakage. Got some tips from nurses today so perhaps tomorrow’s injection will be even better…

Had my progesterone bloods checked again today so hoping the numbers have kept rising 🤞🏻
