Hiya

Is anyone else due to start treatment July 2022 or around then?

I thought to make this thread so that we can all have a chat whilst going through treatment so that we don't feel alone.

Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey.

Hey guys just here with another update
We had EC yesterday and got 8 eggys 💛
The clinic said they will call by 5pm today to let us know how many fertilised (Fertilise Eggys Fertilise), then another call day 3 and our last call is due to be day 5 which is Thursday. We need at least 4 embryos to make it to day 5 so that we can do our genetic testing, so I really hope everything goes smoothly.

@Bellwells fingers crossed for you

NaomiNatNat · 14/08/2022 11:19

Just had an update. the last embryo just didn't develop. Heartbroken. Waiting for a review hopefully next week to see what can be done, praying they change or tweak the meds.

PositiveAnnie · 14/08/2022 12:26

@NaomiNatNat so sorry to hear this

PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 13:21

Hi All, had a scare this morning red blood followed by brown and and cramping.
Been to EPU and they scanned me externally and internally.

There's is a bleed, it's behind the sac and the baby had a little heartbeat already 🥰. Still cautiously optimistic as they said any bleed can increase the chances of miscarriage.
Told to take it easy. No lifting and nothing strenuous.

Hoping this little one sticks around.

Tonim86 · 14/08/2022 15:05

@NaomiNatNat so sorry to hear this 😞

@PMAmostofthetime glad to hear everything is ok I bet you was terrified hoping little one sticks 🤞🤞

PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 15:19

@NaomiNatNat so sorry to hear that :(

@Bellwells good luck let us know how you get on.

@Tonim86 I was in floods of tears and shaking so much I looked like o was shivering I was so scared it was all over.

Bellwells · 14/08/2022 15:32

Hey @PMAmostofthetime

From 8 eggs
2 were premature

3 didn’t fertilise
1 fertilised abnormally
2 because embryos

But I need 4 embryos for genetic testing

It just feels so unfair

OP posts:
PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 16:09

@Bellwells why 4- I got 21 eggs this cycle and only got 3 blasts

8 last cycle no blasts

4 seems high when most clinics tell you an aim for a cycle is 1 to put back and 1 to freeze x

NaomiNatNat · 14/08/2022 16:41

Thanks ladies this is a long cruel journey. That was my 2nd cycle, I might consider doing donor embryo next. Anyone had experience with that?

@PMAmostofthetime Glad everything is ok 💙

@Bellwells what happens now? Will you do a transfer?

Tonim86 · 14/08/2022 16:57

@Bellwells how come you need 4 we are/done genetic testing and no one mentioned a minimum we required. I know it's helpful to have more so more chances but it only takes 1.

@PMAmostofthetime oh I can imagine you was terrified 😞 glad you got some reassurance

@NaomiNatNat sorry no experience I do know someone who had a success pregnancy 1st time with donor egg and partners sperm they had a genetic condition that couldn't be picked up in testing

PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 18:37

@NaomiNatNat have they changed your cycle at all?

My first cycle I did short with Meriofert and cetrizine got 8 eggs none made it to day 5 blasts they transferred two anyway but obviously they didn't work.

This time long protocol I got 20 eggs- got 3 blasts 1 on board and 2. Frosties.

There are quite a few ladies on the forum that have done donor eggs- I'm sure if you make a thread you'll get lots of responses x

PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 18:38

@Tonim86 thank you x

Bellwells · 14/08/2022 19:57

@PMAmostofthetime @Tonim86 were testing for a genetic condition were I am de novo - the first person in the family to have it, so they needed at least 4 to get a reliable test result as we are kayro mapping and testing the dna finger print to ensure the gene doesn’t pass on

@NaomiNatNat i’ve got no clue if I will do a transfer at the moment it’s just another waiting game.

My clinic have emailed the genetics. testing centre lab to see if they can send a biopsy of the embryos that didnt make it, they are hoping to have a response tomorrow but I’ve put all communication through my husband now as its a bit too much for me.

NaomiNatNat · 14/08/2022 21:16

@PMAmostofthetime I've done long protocol both times and getting only 1 good egg each time which is giving that little bit of hope to do another cycle. It would be so much easier if I wasn't getting any at all because then I would just do donor. I hope you're resting and the bleeding stopped xx

@Bellwells I also had a sperm issue this time through icsi. My embryologist said my egg did its part but the sperm didn't respond so the egg didn't develop xx

Bellwells · 14/08/2022 21:22

@NaomiNatNat i think with the ones that didn’t fertilise it was bot the egg and sperm that didn’t do their thing but I’ll probably ask for a report at the end if the week I’ll see how I feel.

PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 23:49

@NaomiNatNat I am thank you.

I would be exactly the same as you.
I have seen some people on here do tandem cycles so they do a full cycle then they put one of their blasts and one donor in.

You have probably tried it but after the cycle that I had no blasts I started taking Ubiquinol . I'm Not sure if this helped as they changed my cycle too.
X

Hi @Bellwells I remember you from another thread. We are at the same clinic I believe. I am also doing PGD IVF. I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you. The embryology calls can be really tough and I have experienced getting both bad and good news from the embryologists at our clinic. I really hope the lab agree to test the other embryos that didn't make it to make up the numbers you need to test accurately. The embryologists will try and do their very best for you, so I'm sure they'll push for this as much as they can.

If you don't get good news on this today then I think it's important to understand why they can't do this (although I'm really hoping they can do it). After you've taken the time you need to process the outcome (regardless of whether it's good or bad), you may also with to request a callback from an embryologist to ask them quesions on egg and sperm quality and anything notable about the development of your embryos and that kind of thing. I have often done this myself and gained some vaulable information that leaves me better informed and able to ask the right questions at future appointments on my treatment plan.

For now, I'm keeping everything crossed for you and I'm sorry this part of the process has been so rough on you.

PositiveAnnie · 15/08/2022 19:28

@PMAmostofthetime im glad all is ok and, I bet you were frightened. With one of my children I had blood loss through my pregnancy which was determined to be normal for that pregnancy and he is healthy now.

@Bellwells this has been our issue this cycle a sperm issue but it doesn’t seem a reasonable when ICSI is done. I’ve asked how a good sperm can then become bad 🤷‍♀️

Tonim86 · 17/08/2022 11:22

Hope everyone is doing ok?

We got an appointment over the phone on Monday I'm assuming some sort of consent and what happens next for our FET. AF should be due next week so hopefully it can happen this/next month

PositiveAnnie · 17/08/2022 13:21

fingers crossed for you

we have one the 24th which seems to be a while after

can I ask what clinic you at @Tonim86

Kelb79 · 17/08/2022 14:04

Ok guys, dilemma……
Dr called today to ask what I want to do…

A) PGT-A test the one embryo we have
B) Do another round to try to get more embryos for testing or
C) (she didn’t offer this as an option but I think it is one) Take a chance and transfer the embryo and keep the PGT-A testing in the bank for a new round if it doesn’t work

what would you do???? 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

PositiveAnnie · 17/08/2022 15:21

@Kelb79 what do you lean more towards?

my opinion I would go with plan c xx

Tonim86 · 17/08/2022 15:25

@Kelb79 it's totally a decision you need to make with your partner, I'm not sure what effects the condition your testing for would have on your child but having a child with a rare disease and the life we lead my option would always be A.

@PositiveAnnie we are at Birmingham womens anyone else local? Wbu your only 2 days after ours ours is the 22nd

PositiveAnnie · 17/08/2022 18:47

@Tonim86 it seemed forever but it’s 12 day’s from it 🤦‍♀️
