@Jampot36 wonderful news 💕 massive congratulations xxx

Herewegoagain881 · 18/04/2022 12:52

Congratulations @Jampot36!

I survived a weekend where I saw a newborn and my pregnant friend without getting teary yay! Time is a great healer, feeling so much better. I can't wait now until Friday is over and can hopefully start getting my body ready for my final transfer.

I hope everyone has been having a lovely bank holiday weekend! xxx

PMAmostofthetime · 18/04/2022 13:04

@Herewegoagain881
That was me this time last week I just wanted OTD so I could stop meds and put the cycle behind me.
48 hours after I felt so much better I'm still teary now and again but less so. Looks like my next cycle will be mid June x

PMAmostofthetime · 18/04/2022 13:04

@Jampot36 I get the being cautious hope you can enjoy it a little bit x

Somatronic · 18/04/2022 13:06

@Jampot36 congratulations! Lovely news 😀

Thanks to everyone for their nice messages yesterday about my embryos 😂
It's a rollercoaster isn't it? Good news, elation, then doubt and worry again. So tiring.

Suki2020 · 18/04/2022 13:16

@Jampot36 huge congratulations, that’s amazing news.

@PMAmostofthetime @Steph2345 @SamTTC
Had my ET this morning at 10am. All went ok. I have a top graded embryo put back in, they say it has a 53% chance of taking so just keeping everything crossed. Also have one to go in the freezer at the moment but I have two others that are slightly behind so they are going to ring me tomorrow with an update to Whether they will be frozen.

PMAmostofthetime · 18/04/2022 13:25

@Suki2020 That's great news! Get lots of rest and drink plenty.

Great news that you have a frostie too, hope the others catch up 🍍 x

Suki2020 · 18/04/2022 13:32

What does everyone do on the day of ET do you all just chill out on the sofa or carry on like a normal day?

Steph2345 · 18/04/2022 13:36

@Jampot36 yay this is great news!! Congratulations!

@Suki2020 how exciting! I’d take it easier than normal but I was told to pretty much get on with life as usual just be cautious. And great you have one in the freezer too. Is your test day 2 weeks from EC or ET?

Steph2345 · 18/04/2022 13:38

@Herewegoagain881 this weekend can’t have been easy for you but you got through it!

Suki2020 · 18/04/2022 13:45

@Steph2345 test date is 16days after EC.

Steph2345 · 18/04/2022 14:39

@Autumn245 how are you doing after the EC now?

@Soleste how are you?

Jampot36 · 18/04/2022 15:04

@Herewegoagain881 that must have been am emotional day but well done for going and getting through it. Do you know when your transfer might be?

@Suki2020 successful et!!! I rested for the afternoon, clinic said i was fine to go about normally but i was a bit tender and i think the build up is a lot so i felt drained. Was fine next day.

@PMAmostofthetime i will try my best to enjoy i promise.

Thank you everyone for your lovely words

SamTTC · 18/04/2022 16:28

@Herewegoagain881 aww I’m glad you got through it, what a weekend!

@Suki2020 nice one, crossing fingers for the embryo you had transferred- and amazing that there’s at least one more! Sounds a lot like my cycle, I (apparently, I only found this out a few days ago) had one transferred and one frozen on day 5, and they let two grow till day 6, of which one was frozen.
I’m planning to go straight home after my ET tomorrow and stay on the sofa for the rest of the day, but on Wednesday I have a few meetings so I have to go back to work…but I won’t take my bicycle I think. Last transfer I biked and did mild yoga during the TWW and while I know it’s probably fine for some, I have gotten a little paranoid about twisting and bumping so I think I’ll try to avoid it for the first week while implantation can happen.

I have had such a bad stomach ache for the past few days. Like a proper old fashioned stomach ache like you got when you were little, where you just want to curl up in a ball. I’m sure it’s the progesterone messing with my digestive system but it’s frustrating cause I can’t imagine it’ll exactly help my implantation chances to be in actual pain… 😕

AliceAbsolum · 18/04/2022 17:30

@SamTTC I've done no yoga or strength or running or anything this time. I just don't have the brain space to worry about it. It's only for a short period of time overall I guess.
Yesterday I walked 4 miles with DH in the afternoon, got a bit hot and thirsty and that mildy worried me, so my limit is clearly quite low.
But nhs guidance is to keep on exercising, so, who knows.

@SamTTC

There were more follicles on the right than the left, I think 7 on the right and 3-4 on the left. Some weren't counted though as they were too small so I think there were around 8-9 viable ones. I'm stressing that the number isn't high enough, but have been taking all the supplements that contribute to good egg quality for 3 months, am on a low carb diet and have been doing acupuncture. Tomorrow morning is my retrieval. Eeek. I'm so nervous!

Herewegoagain881 · 18/04/2022 17:51

Thanks @PMAmostofthetime, @Steph2345, @Jampot36, @SamTTC

@Jampot36 unfortunately it could be quite a delay until I can try again, I'm still on my progesterone until Friday where I'll have a scan to confirm it was a chemical/blighted ovum and once I stop the meds it may then take a while to bleed and my hcg to drop. Last time I miscarried I gave it a year before trying again so I'm not actually sure what the minimum amount of time needs to pass in my circumstances. We'll have a debrief with the doctor within a few weeks of the scan so hopefully will know then, although I might see about having some investigations done before we try again as it's our last chance!

SamTTC · 18/04/2022 17:52

@AliceAbsolum I have a theory that it’s super individual for each woman and the conditions of the uterus, maybe even the individual embryo, and that’s why it’s so hard to say whether one way or another is better. Seems like the restful approach works for you though!! 🤞🤞🤞 I also imagine that your body ‘tells’ you what it can handle quite clearly now. Are you generally feeling more tired?

@Yoga817 honestly I was 33 when I had my retrieval and they told me my numbers were fine - I started with 16 at base but I think a few dominant follies ate up most of the drugs so I had 6 follies retrieved (5 eggs)…and actually 5/6 is a very common number in this group. 🙂 so I don’t think you should worry too much about the number! It’s all about what comes of the eggs we do get out isn’t it? Crossing fingers for the transfer tomorrow, let us know how it goes 😊

AliceAbsolum · 18/04/2022 17:57

@SamTTC Yes that's such a good point. Very individual. Last pregnancy I barely felt anything but this 1 I don't think I could run more than 2 miles if I tried. My resting heart rate is normally 45 bpm ish and it's 60 now. I really notice it when walking up hills.
Maybe in the 2nd trimester I'll try some Jogging or yoga.

Somatronic · 18/04/2022 17:57

@Yoga817 best of luck tomorrow! I had around that number of follicles too. Everything crossed for you.

@Suki2020 well done girl!

Ladies, is crushing exhaustion normal on progesterone? I went for a brisk walk earlier, for maybe just over an hour and I felt so tired afterwards. I fell asleep for ages on the couch this afternoon. DH had to wake me up because I was asleep for so long. It's very annoying! I can't think of what else could be causing it.

Also I think some of my friends and family have been broadcasting my news. I got a text this morning from a friend asking me some strange questions and one of my aunts rang me yesterday to wish me luck with the IVF! So God knows who else my mother/friends have told! I'm a bit disappointed in them because I asked them to keep it quiet for now 😔

Steph2345 · 18/04/2022 18:06

@Yoga817 good luck tomorrow with your EC I hope you are pleasantly surprised over the coming days

@Somatronic it’s your transfer tomorrow isn’t it? I hope it goes well for you

@SamTTC best of luck for your transfer tomorrow! How is your stomach doing?

Xx

Iwouldlikesomecake · 18/04/2022 18:15

@Somatronic yes. Yes it is 😴😴😴

@Jampot36 massive congratulations!

I’m still too scared to test, head in the sand till Friday unless AF arrives although I’m on 3x400 progesterone a day so it may not arrive whatever the outcome… kind of feel like I’ve got no symptoms now apart from lower abdo pain so I feel like it’s just the progesterone stopping me coming on now and preparing myself for a negative.

Autumn245 · 18/04/2022 18:51

@Somatronic Good luck for transfer tomorrow! So annoying that people have been sharing your news around, they are probably feeling excited for you and want to share, not that it gives them the right to share of course!

@SamTTC Good luck for FET tomorrow, hope you're feeling better. I've not been enjoying the progesterone pessaries either and it's been causing some stomach upset with me too.

@Suki2020 Congrats on being Pupo! How are you feeling after transfer? That sounds like a good chance for success and always nice to have one in the freezer, fingers crossed for good news tomorrow about your other 2 🤞

@Yoga817 good luck for EC tomorrow. I had 9 or 10 follicles at the right size at the scan before trigger, ended up with 22 follicles extracted and got 9 eggs.

@PMAmostofthetime glad you have a date for follow up and that just so happens to be my birthday! I'm sending good vibes your way! Good to see you are planning a trip away, be a nice distraction. Do you have a destination in mind?

@Herewegoagain881 it sound like it's been a tough weekend for you, well done for getting through it! I've not had many people around me have babies recently, that's all to come July/Aug time and I've no idea how I will cope if this cycle doesn't work. I'll be thinking of you on Friday ❤

@Steph2345 I'm feeling so much better now, the only time I feel crap is first thing in the morning when I'm desperate for a pee! 😂 the lovely side effects of drinking lots of water haha.

I had a day 3 update today and all 5 embryos are still going strong. Was told they are top quality so I'm over the moon! Can't ask for better than that 😊Transfer booked for Wednesday 🤞

SamTTC · 18/04/2022 19:07

@PMAmostofthetime mid June will be here in no time!

I’m sorry the progesterone is hitting everyone so hard!! The exhaustion is totally normal @Somatronic, though annoying! Some people also get very bloated and sore boobs/lower back etc, I haven’t had that though and - knock on wood - no headaches. Just stomach issues for me.
Wow I can’t believe they’ve been telling people; that is so out of order. I would be so angry if that happened to me.
But on a totally different note- We’ll be transfer buddies tomorrow! Yay 😊 Good luck to you!

@Iwouldlikesomecake eek the last few days are always the hardest, I think it’s a good approach to just wait till otd and see! You really hear so many stories of people either having all the pregnancy symptoms or having zero, and both outcomes are possible for both groups. So there’s really no knowing until test day 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Autumn245 great news about your embryos! And you’ll be transferring so soon! Exciting ☀️

@Steph2345 thanks! Still hurts like a mf…really hoping it’s lessened by tomorrow.
