Hi @Suki2020 I only removed the nail varnish from my fingers. In fact they never saw my toes, I had slippers on (as instructed) and then had to put blue shoe covers on before walking into the procedure room. I think the nail varnish removal from your fingers is so they can place a monitor on one of them . Best of luck!

AliceAbsolum · 10/04/2022 13:56

I also think it is just fingers, for the monitor. Good luck!

Thinking of you @PMAmostofthetime @Steph2345 @LuckyNovember

@Suki2020 At my clinic they actually tell us no products of any kind- you are not allowed to smell like anything, basically, because they believe it is bad for the embryo to be exposed to it. Even if you take a shower the night before, you have to use odour-free products, and that also goes for your deodorant etc.

On the other hand they don't ask us to lie down after the transfer, so who knows why they suggest what...

Suki2020 · 10/04/2022 18:40

Thank you @Soleste @SamTTC
Sorry I’ve been quiet, I had to up my dose of menopur as it wasn’t strong enough and I’ve had to inject for longer. Think I’m meant to be having egg collection on wed, I have another scan tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is day15 of injections so really thought I would have had egg collection by now. I’m really nervous about egg collection and being sedated. What should I expect? Are you there for long?

PMAmostofthetime · 10/04/2022 19:10

@LuckyNovember I felt exactly the same it's unexplained infertility ( although i now suspect Endo) but I honestly thought it would just work- who thought the chances were actually very slim. I'm still a moody blubbering mess- but been trying to get out more as no one else knows so I have to hold it together around people.
I knew it was unlikely to work due to the embryo's not being blasts but you can't help but dream and hope a little.

@AliceAbsolum thank you- I watched your Vlog and cried happy tears with you and caught the Van name thanks :).
Such a special moment you have filmed.

@Jampot36 how your feeling ok? We're there difficulties with transfer mine was uncomfortable but my smears always hurt so I was relieved it wasn't too painful- not sure if that's normal though?

How are you doing today- drinks lots of water and get lots of rest.

@Iwouldlikesomecake I am still constantly cold, having cramps and horrible vivid dreams off the pessaries.

Good luck @Jampot36 and @Iwouldlikesomecake with your 2WW.

@HJen22 thank you- I knew I'd be disappointed but because things weren't good at transfer I didn't expect it to hit me like this. Hope Covid's not treating you too badly!

@SamTTC I'm really struggling with doing them, I'd understand if I was spotting but sorry for TMI I have the heaviest worst period I've had in years. I don't ovulate, so I'm putting it down to that.

@Steph2345 how are you doing? I know your symptoms are horrible but I'm hoping that's a good sign for you.

@Suki2020 I asked my clinic this question before hand and was told only off the fingers to shower before no deodorant or perfume for me or OH as the smells can damage the eggs. Nail varnish/
Gel on toes is fine as long as not freshly painted.
Sorry to hear your on day 14 of stims that is tough, but at least they are monitoring you and checking what you need. Good luck at your scan tomorrow.

X🍍

Suki2020 · 10/04/2022 19:18

@PMAmostofthetime thank you. No one has told me anything about what to expect from our clinic. How are you doing?

HJen22 · 10/04/2022 19:18

@Suki2020 good luck for EC! Sorry to hear you've been on stims for a wee while longer than expected, but it's good that they are monitoring and continuing until the best time. My EC in Scotland sounds very different to the rest of the ladies. But even awake I was fine and would and will do it all again in a heartbeat.

@PMAmostofthetime I hope you are ok x I know, I can imagine it is still just as hard. Hopefully when you are off the pessaries you will start to feel better. Being off meds helps I think x

Covid kicking my butt today! Hoping to feel a better tomorrow. My OH is better today than he was but this is his Day 7 and only my Day 3!

@Nutrinerd thank you! Hope you've had a nice restful weekend and have had some good sleeps to make you less knackered!

@SamTTC that's exciting, not long now!! Do you have an appointment tomorrow?

Steph2345 · 10/04/2022 19:30

Hi ladies , I’m home! I’ve been told to completely rest for 2 weeks and if I get worse im to head back in again. I’m still in quite a bit of pain but I’m so glad to be home again.

How are we all doing? I’m just catching up on the last posts I’ve missed….
I remember someone saying about being cold! I swear I’ve not warmed up since the EC!!

HJen22 · 10/04/2022 19:42

@Steph2345 so glad to hear you're home and back to your own bed! What an awful weekend for you spent in hospital. Hope the pain isn't too bad and eases up really soon! X

Jampot36 · 10/04/2022 19:44

@PMAmostofthetime been thinking of you.

i feel ok thanks. The transfer itself was a bit uncomfortable but not the worst. I've had a few minor cramps today but I'm told thats normal.
Been taking it easy yday and today but clinic said as long as o feel ok to live as normal so thinking i might make a couple of very light gym sessions this week!

@Iwouldlikesomecake how are you feeling today?

PMAmostofthetime · 10/04/2022 19:47

@Suki2020 I wasn't allowed to eat for 8 hours before and only sips of water 3 hours before. I had to take a dressing gown ( I bought a thin one from Asos) slippers a snack and drinks for after. I took- some cereal bars and mini cheddars a bottle of water and a lucozade sport.
I wore my socks and slippers in to egg collection.
Hope this helps. I was told to be there for 8 but I was 3rd so was there ages wish I took a magazine or something.

I'm better than yesterday thanks poor OH has been the brunt of my frustration though as he's the only one who knows. I just want Wednesday to be over with so I can move on .

@HJen22 i think the pessaries being out of my system will help, but more importantly it will allow me to move on. I feel stuck in Limbo I have learned a lot though and wil never ever test earlier than OTD.

Did someone mention a fertility crystal bracelet? Where did you get it from please? I've been looking but unsure of reliable website x🍍

Nutrinerd · 10/04/2022 19:54

@Steph2345 glad you’re well enough to be out of hospital, hope the rest of your recovery goes well.

@HJen22 finally managed to sleep after discovering that ginger biscuits seem to keep the nausea at bay! Sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish with the ‘rona, hope things improve soon!

LuckyNovember · 10/04/2022 20:14

@PMAmostofthetime the bracelet was me ☺️ I ordered it on Etsy... just search "fertility bracelet" and there are loads... actually I ordered two; a cute little one of mixed crystals, and one of red carnelian... will report back when it arrives. It's a cliche, but buying myself something pretty cheers me up, and it can't hurt and it's all so out of our control, why not add this to the mix too and hope for the best!... (and how magical if I get to give it to my daughter as a trinket one day 🥲)

LuckyNovember · 10/04/2022 20:15

Great that you're home @Steph2345 A good nights sleep in your own bed will surely do you good 😊 hope you feel much better very soon!

LuckyNovember · 10/04/2022 20:16

Congrats to all who've just done / are about to do EC... in it to win it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

PMAmostofthetime · 10/04/2022 20:16

@Nutrinerd i've head that ice lollies, top tops ( heard they are called ice poles and freeze pops in anywhere but Wales) and ice lollies help the sickness too.

@Jampot36 Thank you- all of you have gotten me though this. My clinic advised light exercise is ok but to avoid lifting anything over 5 kg and not to bend too much or stretch up to life something as you can pull muscles and make your uterus contract- not sure if anyone else was told similar?

Also I got more tired in the 2 WW and went completely off chocolate. Unfortunately this has now changed since AF showed 🙈 could have been one benefit lol 😂 x

PMAmostofthetime · 10/04/2022 20:23

@LuckyNovember what a lovely thought 😊 I'll have a look now. I have one Rose Quartz bracelet. But I've been researching fertility bracelets for a while.

@Steph2345
Glad your home, hopefully that's where you'll get to stay now.

X

Suki2020 · 10/04/2022 20:40

@PMAmostofthetime thanks that’s a great help. Glad you are doing better today, you’ve really had it tough. We are all here for you what ever you need.

Nutrinerd · 10/04/2022 20:59

@PMAmostofthetime omg I used to love pedialyte freezer pops when I was in the US. Thank you for the amazing suggestion hadn’t thought of this!

SamTTC · 10/04/2022 21:14

@Suki2020 I’m surprised your clinic hasn’t given you instructions, maybe there’s info on the website? It’s hard to say what to expect because it’s so different. I was also awake for mine, which I personally prefer, it was absolutely fine and kind of fun to follow along on the monitor, I just unfortunately had a bad reaction to the drop going in my arm (the actual thing, not the morphine) but that’s very uncommon I think.
The waiting was the worst for sure, I think they go alphabetical so I was last, I was there for three hours I think! Definitely bring a magazine or a book or both. And if they let you have drinks, bring juice, apple juice is best if you should get nauseous for any reason.
It’s really not a big deal for most though, i have no hesitation about doing it again if I need to.

@Steph2345 I’m so glad to hear you are home. What an ordeal!! are you okay emotionally? I imagine it must have been such a shock. It is so incredibly unfair that you had to go through that.

@PMAmostofthetime don’t worry there’s no such thing as tmi on this journey I think! That’s so annoying though. Glad you’re beginning to feel a bit better.

PMAmostofthetime · 11/04/2022 00:20

@LuckyNovember I have just ordered 3 bracelets from Etsy one I started I couldn't stop. All from the same seller.
I'll post a pic once they have arrived.

@AliceAbsolum how's the van? X

Jampot36 · 11/04/2022 06:09

@LuckyNovember i bought fertility bracelet too and my best friend bought me one, i find it comforting. I also have a moonstone necklace.

@PMAmostofthetime i wasnt told anything re specific numbers but I've already taken out big compound lifts and reduced weight since i started. Ive changed my prorgam again so its lighter and bodyweight. I didnt go this morning as still a bit tender so listening to my body and going for a pre work walk around the block instead. How are you today?

@AliceAbsolum how do we watch your vlog?

AliceAbsolum · 11/04/2022 06:16

@jampot36 I'll PM you 👍

@PMAmostofthetime She's good. Survived a month alone. Nice to have my pillow back and the freedom to pootle about.

About 250 people said they cried watching the vlog yesterday. Honestly I never knew when we started vlogging Vanlife that we'd be uploading DH and I Poas in Cyprus. Crazy world.

I'm going to poas again today as it's another 48 hours and I want to check its not a chemical.

@Steph2345 Glad you're home. Rest up! When's OTD? Or did you freeze all?

Ugh, the anxiety has kicked in. I have felt totally fine for 24 hours now, not off my food, not nauseous or anything.
I've got a pot of piss so I'll go buy a FRER this morning. If its lighter I'll get bloods.
Yuck, yuck, yuck :(
