@IVFGotThis05 i agree with @LuckyNovember i think emailing is a good idea. I often email my clinics admin team and they get my questions answered by nurses or my consultant. I know what you mean where you can feel rushed by them & you may think of other questions later on

Gigi89x · 23/03/2022 20:08

@Bluehawaii29 @Millymillymillymillymilly how are you both doing today?

Bluehawaii29 · 23/03/2022 20:14

@Gigi89x hi good to hear from you Smile hope you are doing ok xx I’m ok thanks, just trying to pass the time but as scan draws nearer you get doubtful that yours will be normal. I’m still being reassured by dark lines on my tests and had a 3+ Weeks showing on clear blue this morning, up from 2-3 weeks on sat. I don’t know, maybe it’s just my mind that is going crazy but it’s getting quite hard waiting, I don’t want it to get to same anxiety levels as the 2WW though as that truly was horrible. How are you doing and the pain symptoms you were getting? X

Gigi89x · 23/03/2022 20:23

@Bluehawaii29 i can imagine it must be an exciting but anxious time. I would try & fill my time with keeping busy if possible or a good Netflix series to binge on to pass the time! How many weeks left, is it 3?

My pain has gone now that my withdrawal bleed has ended, i'm glad thats over with! Im just counting down the days till my consultant apptmt next Wednesday. Is there anything specific i should ask the consultant that you can think of?

Bluehawaii29 · 23/03/2022 20:28

@Gigi89x heyy I think it’s worth asking for progesterone check this time on day before or day of transfer, asking about double transfer if you’re up for that and also the embryo glue I really do believe could have made the difference this time. I’ve heard it can also reduce miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy risk and just improve implantation in general so definitely worth looking in to.

Yes I wish I could binge on a series but have no clue what to watch next. Every evening I am so exhausted by the time we start flicking through things to watch and end up falling asleep at 9-10pm whereas used to sleep around 11ish before. Then I wake up crazy early hrs of the morning but thankfully manage to go back to sleep but still can only sleep in till 7am max. Do you have any Netflix suggestions that might help? x

Bluehawaii29 · 23/03/2022 20:30

@Gigi89x glad your pain has gone, must be a big relief and hope you can get ball rolling soon so you can enjoy your trip in June x

Gigi89x · 23/03/2022 20:41

@Bluehawaii29 iv seen you guys mention progesterone checks but iv not heard if mentioned by my clinic. Is this something they offered you or did you ask?

Embryo glue we used as it was included in our package we paid for, i will use it again next time as iv seen good results from yourself and some others here with it!
What kind of Netflix shows do you like? Do you want something easy watching if your feeling tired? Iv recently watched the tinder swindler & inventing Anna, Squid game, Good girls, Emily in Paris. They were good! Im not sure if you have ever seen the handmaids tale but thats my absolute fave 😆

If you like to watch rubbish reality tv i also have been watching married at first sight Australia 🙈 haha, its quite addictive lol!

Bluehawaii29 · 23/03/2022 20:54

@Gigi89x I asked for the progesterone check. They don’t routinely do it for this clinic either but as we’ve discussed before seems odd isn’t it.
Lol yeah reality tv can be addictive. I remember watching tonnes of teen mom US episodes during my 2WW in fresh cycle but this time we watched all of us are dead series which was also really good and squid games was pretty good at the time too but not sure if I’d like to watch it again haha way too morbid. Recommend watching something really funny on your next transfer day, this time round watched stand up comedy by Mo Gilligan on Netflix and was sooo funny, laughed sides of that evening I remember. Actually was pretty chilled for first 6 days I’d and then the anxiety kicked in bad! Thanks for the suggestions, Will have to try inventing Anna next as already seen tinder swindler as well, what a creep!

Gigi89x · 23/03/2022 21:03

@Bluehawaii29 Oooh iv wanted to watch all of us are dead, il watch that next! They are morbid but cant help but watch 😂 Comedy on transfer day is a good idea! Something cheerful lol

Has anyone had an endometrial scratch before? Iv been looking into it but it sounds painful?

LuckyNovember · 23/03/2022 21:47

Trigger pulled 🙈
So scared of messing that up!! And this time she gave me a double trigger with little glass vials to crack and mix with all kinds of different needles... nerve wracking! Will know if we did it right on Friday morning 😬

Gigi89x · 23/03/2022 22:15

@LuckyNovember exciting times!!!! ✨ i had two triggers but mine was ovitrelle pens. I wish you all the best for EC!

Bryterlayter1 · 24/03/2022 07:20

@luckyNovember how exciting! Good luck for EC tomorrow.

Overlyanxious · 24/03/2022 07:48

@Bluehawaii29 I'm sorry to hear you're finding it hard to wait. It's so difficult isn't it.

@LuckyNovember that's exciting - all the best for EC.

Millymillymillymillymilly · 24/03/2022 07:59

@Gigi89x Tnanks for asking. All good here! Just the waiting is killing me. I think definitely push for a progesterone test because that’s the first thing the hospital asked me to do, even before my transfer. On the day of the transfer, I did a blood test on the morning to make sure my levels are apt. They call sometime in the afternoon to tell me to stay on the same drugs. I’m imagining if it was lower, they would definitely up it.

XjustagirlX · 24/03/2022 10:55

So I’ve just had my call with my consultant after the failed FET. I’m on the same protocol next time which is just a natural cycle and I can start on my next period.

She said that it probably failed because the embryo was abnormal snd women under 35 have about 50% of embryos are not normal.

Daisychain93x · 24/03/2022 11:08

@XjustagirlX Hey that’s interesting to hear what your Consultant said about embryo failure. I haven’t heard that before! Do you know if that is the same for every woman, regardless of the reasons for IVF?
I’m going to be doing a natural cycle for my first frozen embryo transfer. It’s scheduled for roughly around April 25th, depending on my cycle if it’s starts around the 1st.

LuckyNovember · 24/03/2022 11:41

I've even heard something horrifying like by the time you get to 40 it's something like only 10-40% that are "normal"... statistically... but that doesn't mean you won't find the normal one on your first go 🤷🏻‍♀️

LuckyNovember · 24/03/2022 12:05

This is my favourite stat graph on all of this... can't even remember where i saw it in one of my Google rabbit holes and took a photo 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, I love it cos it puts 38-40 instead of 40-43, which I think is probably more accurate since you don't wake up on your 40th birthday in a new body, and I always think it's verging on encouraging.... enjoy!

XjustagirlX · 24/03/2022 14:11

@LuckyNovember thanks for the photo. Is that percentage of live birth per transfer or assuming you use all if the eggs retrieved. For example fir under 35 with 10+ eggs retrieved. Is that 65% chance of a baby after those 10 eggs have been used or per egg?

They look like hopeful percentages regardless though

LuckyNovember · 24/03/2022 14:37

@XjustagirlX it's per egg retrieval, so I think that's for all the fresh and all subsequent frozen transfers from a single stimm/collection cycle... I think 🤔
And if you're under 35 with more than 10 eggs, I think those odds are pretty amazing!!

LuckyNovember · 24/03/2022 14:38

With the caveat that... we're not statistics, and there are always exceptions positive and negative!! 🧡

MollyVanDer · 24/03/2022 14:45

@LuckyNovember @XjustagirlX I'm a data person so feel in control when crunching the numbers. My stats from various studies as a 37 yo with no known fertility issues (same sex couple) is 28% success per cycle. This becomes 65% with the 5AB hatching blastocyst I've got in the freezer when this gets transferred. From what I've read 1 in 6 eggs from a 37-40 year old is good the rest have abnormalities / chromosome issues.

I like the outlook shared previously- if you can get to transfer think of it as 50/50....

Gigi89x · 24/03/2022 15:31

@Millymillymillymillymilly thanks for the tip, I'm going to definitely ask about this!

Im not very clued up on on this but do many people get their embryos PGT tested?

Overlyanxious · 24/03/2022 15:45

@Gigi89x I previously looked at PGS testing. I think they said it was about £500 per embryo.

Daisychain93x · 24/03/2022 19:18

@LuckyNovember Thank you for the photo and the info! 😁
