ThaKS @IE00 I did another test strip today and the faintest of faintest of lines was visible. I'm hoping that means it's growing rather than the clear blue picking up on a chemical.
It's was pretty blink and you'll miss it though 😶 Not sure if I'm just seeing things. I'm 11dp5dt today and OTD not until Friday. Hopefully there's still time for this little one to do some growing 😊

NaomiNatNat · 28/02/2022 12:18

@IE00 I get lost in the messages sometimes lol no worries. How are you today? Xx

LuckyNovember · 28/02/2022 12:54

So I received my new protocol for round 2, and I have a question:
I didn't respond very well the first time; only 6 eggs (4 mature) though there were 12 follicles counted at the base scan... I just turned 40, so not expecting dozen, but I would have liked a few more... one of my ovaries barely blinked at the meds 🙄

This time she's kept me on the same meds and same dose... is that normal? Is it possible that I respond any differently this time? Or should I prepare myself for equally underwhelming numbers? Thanks to share of any of you have experience of this...

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 12:57

@xreadytoglow wow that is the dream ✨ congrats again. What was the reason for your ivf if you don’t mind and can I ask whether you used glue / 1 or 2 embryos and grading etc. just interested to know everyone’s background behind their success stories xx

xreadytoglow · 28/02/2022 13:07

@Bluehawaii29 thank you 🤍

Yeah absolutely. So we decided to do IVF as we are a same sex couple and our friends (also same sex couple) has just had their baby through IVF last year with 4 frosties. Because of the higher success rate than IUI, the possibility of full siblings frozen and using 'younger' eggs, we opted to go straight to IVF too. So as far as I know I don't have any fertility issues and I'm 30.
We weren't given the option of glue so no I don't think that was used, and we transferred 1 4AB 😊

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 13:15

Aww @xreadytoglow that’s a lovely story, thanks for sharing xx wishing you lots of happiness to you and your partner 💕

Justawannabemam · 28/02/2022 13:28

That's brilliant. I'm glad your getting checked every day . I would like too but it would be impossible with a drive for a 4 hour round trip.

@LuckyNovember My clinic gave me exactly the same meds and amounts of meds for both my rounds and the outcome was almost exactly the same, first round 5 eggs, 4 fertilised, 2 blasts, second round 4 eggs, 4 fertilised, 2 blasts, I think most people seem to have a slightly different protocol/drugs on their second round but my clinic said I was on the maximum dosage of my drugs, which turned out to be a lie as I’ve seen people on much higher than me. They said it was just bad luck that our first fresh and frozen transfers failed, so kept me on same dosages! Haven’t had the outcome from second round yet! 🤞🏻

IE00 · 28/02/2022 13:35

Thanks @NaomiNatNat, feeling quite down today. But this forum has really helped. Yes agree with @LuckyNovember it's the waiting for the period and the follow up that just feels like dead time.

Has anyone done transfers back to back? I.e. the period after the transfer they started again? I read here that it makes no difference to pregnancy rates. www.inviafertility.com/blog/blog/embryology/kellyschorsch/dont-delay-frozen-embryo-transfer-after-failed-ivf/

LBalf · 28/02/2022 13:44

@IE00 we did a back to back, our first cycle was cancelled because of lining thickness and I started the next protocol as soon as I had a bleed.

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 13:44

@IE00 hi sorry to hear you are feeling down today. I’m feeling very sluggish and under the weather but have had to work today and tomorrow because of the hospitals sudden change to my transfer date to Friday instead of weds just because of space issues. I hope I can stay reasonably well till then
In answer to your question I waited a whole period after and then began this cycle. My last transfer on fresh cycle was first week of dec and this week will be my first FET transfer if that gives you any idea of time scale involved. Hopefully yours might be sooner xx

LuckyNovember · 28/02/2022 14:59

Thanks @crazycatlady1981 that's what I was afraid of 😂
In terms of maximum dose though, my clinic told me that unless you have loads of eggs, it can be better to stay below the maximum as the high dose isn't always good for quality... (I'm on 300 menopur again, where the max is 450) 🤷🏻‍♀️

EasterBunny7 · 28/02/2022 16:27

Hi everyone,

Been noticing the chat about when to test for pregnancy and had a question: with FET, there's no HCG involved, so when is the earliest you can possibly test?

Appleby11 · 28/02/2022 17:24

Our OTD was today and it's a definite negative unfortunately. We were told it's a minimum of 6-8 weeks for the doctors appointment. However, they've already rung and have an appointment this Thursday!

I cried. We'd gone for a meal out to cheer up and I sat in the restaurant and cried when they rang.

Mochii · 28/02/2022 17:35

@Appleby11 so sorry 😔

@EasterBunny7 some people have positives as soon as 3dpt apparently. You can test whenever as there’s no risk of it being the trigger

NaomiNatNat · 28/02/2022 17:45

@Appleby11 Big hugs, I know exactly how you feel ❤ so happy you got your appointment Thursday. You can move forward quicker and fingers crossed they have a better plan for you xx

Overlyanxious · 28/02/2022 17:55

I'm so sorry @Appleby11 I'm glad you have an appointment so soon though. x

xreadytoglow · 28/02/2022 18:02

@Appleby11 I'm so sorry. 😔🤍

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 28/02/2022 18:16

Needing some support ladies.

So had the transfer Thursday, tomorrow will be 5dp5dt. Was a bad grade 5CB, so not overly expecting anything amazing. This is when I got my BFP in November, so I will be testing tomorrow. (Making it sound like I haven't already been testing every day lol). But I am hoping for accurate results tomorrow. I am TERRIFIED! I don't know what makes me feel worse, a negative, or a positive with the potential of dealing with another loss. I have been so upset all day, but trying to put on the brave face as been stuck at work. Have booked tomorrow and Wednesday off, just incase I need to spend it crying lol. Any amazing coping tips you can offer? X

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 18:29

@Appleby11 really heartbreaking when you get a negative. My thoughts are with you ❤️

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 18:39

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 sorry I can’t help you with this. I’m terrified myself of testing and don’t see myself doing it this time before OTD even though I’m doing FET and can probably know much earlier according to other peoples stories. Will be interested to hear how others do it x

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 18:40

@IVFGotThis05 heyy how did your transfer go today? Was it painful or ok. Hope you are resting and enjoying being PUPO 🤩

Overlyanxious · 28/02/2022 19:00

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 keeping my fingers crossed you get good news. I think you need to let yourself cry for a bit for sure. Is there anything you go do that requires your concentration? I've been playing some games on my phone which require all thoughts to be on what I'm doing. I find that helps to keep my mind off of everything for at least a little bit.

LuckyNovember · 28/02/2022 19:08

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 i think I got so used to BFNs when we were TTC pre-IVF that I don't really expect anything else from a test 🤦🏻‍♀️ It must be harder when you've seen a BFP, and of course I get my hopes up a little each time, but I just try to think of BFN as the default option, and somehow it's not quite SO devastating

Bluehawaii29 · 28/02/2022 19:15

@LuckyNovember this is a really good way of looking at things. May just help me too so thank you x
